Fall Collections 2009
Not sure how good this is but it’s only $5 bucks on Sephora at the moment!
It’s rather a great little deal for tipping your cart into the free shipping zone. I’ve used Smashbox single shadows before and they are pretty nice so I’m sure duos are pretty fab too.
Either way, a rather nice little steal.

What do you think peeps?
I’m kinda digging on that brown swirl one and the cranberry!
Yay or Nay?
I hate nudes. They are so terribly unflattering on this Muse. Last year, Bobbi introduced me to a new way to wear nudes though with the Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nude Collection.
For someone who has venomously denied loving Nudes, I suddenly found myself loving the idea of creating a chic, natural, nude look! Bobbi you sure do know how to charm a girl.
This year, Bobbi Brown keeps me clamoring back for more with her newest Nude Collection featuring the Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette.
Jump ahead for the review!
This year things are a little bit different. Last year the Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes Palette contained a total of seven shades. This year the new Nude Eye Palette contains six shades in the new customize palette. Basically each shadow is contained in a duo with two shadows making up a combination for one look. Of course you can mix and match any of the shades included but the fact they are grouped into two shades makes it easier to create a single look from the shades paired together. The new custom palette allow you to snap duos in and out easily. It’s kinda like getting an empty custom palette free as after you hit pan on the duos you can head to Bobbi and snap in any number of items for face, lips, or eyes.
The palette’s ease of use lays in the fact that it’s made up of matte, sparkle, and metallic finish shadows. Nudes are difficult for me to pull off but pairing a nude base with a hint of sparkle makes application easier and friendly.
You get a total of six shades which are:
Navajo and Pebble (Creamy Beige Matte and Metallic Champagne Nude)
Chino and Beige Linen (Muddy Beige Matte and Beige Brown Shimmer)
Maple Sugar and Caviar (Beige Brown Metallic and Chocolate Matte Brown)
The shades are all pigmented and have an incredible texture for blending. You do get a fair bit of fall out from the metallic and shimmer finishes but with proper prepping you can avoid this. I do always find shades like Caviar incredibly difficult to work with but I think these are meant more as a liner shade than an actual eye shadow.
The collection also included Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Caviar Ink which is proving to be my best friend at the moment. I love the deep chocolate of this shade and love the way it tight lines my upper waterline to create a certain air of mystery. Bobbi makes one of the best gel liners around so it’s quite nice to add this particular shade to my arsenal.
Overall, the Bobbi Brown Nude Palette is the ideal and easy way to wear nude shadows. It’s work friendly and manages to create a natural, nude look that has a flair of fun to it.
Another great Bobbi palette.
Anyone haul it?
Since my original post about the new Barbie Loves Stila color collection
I’ve come across the news that there are three shades of Barbie Loves Stila Smudge Pots releasing!
Jump ahead for the deets!
Ok, so these sound very exciting. Particularly because they contain sparkle in the mix of things.
The shades are as follows:
- Little Black Dress (black with pink sparkle)
- Purple Pumps (purple with pink shimmer)
- Cobalt Clutch (vibrant blue with intense shimmer)/li>
I don’t know about you but the idea of a black liner with a bit of pink sparkle sounds incredible doesn’t it? The purple and blue have a bit of a retro Farrah Fawcett feel to ’em.
All in all a rather nifty little collection of smudge pots from Stila. I know I’m hauling the black at the very least!
Anyone else as into these as I am?
IsaDora believes it’s evoking the 70’s with it’s new Bohemian Rhapsody Collection but the Muse just sees a warm, elegant look for the cooler weather ahead. Loving all over this look and must haves it now!
Take a peep after the jump!
I’m ever always slightly skeptical of combining browns and greens for some odd reason but I should know by now it simply works. The new IsaDora Bohemian Rhapsody collection features the model wearing a combination of olive green and deep chocolate on her eyes which pops and screams Fall. It’s a beautiful cocktail of warm colors for a cooler season and I’m loving all over it. The collection is geared towards a more 70’s retro feel but I’m just seeing it as a very beautiful collection that has a certain warmth to it which I associate with Fall. Although traditionally olive greens and browns aren’t something to get too excited about as many collections release similar shades like these for Autumn, but I still can’t help but feel quite excited about this collection.
At the center of the collection is a brand new Isadora Eye Palette in Bohemian Rhapsody ($19.50) which is a range of warm shades of olive green, browns, and golds. I’m quite interested in picking up the palette and the IsaDora Chrome Lip Polish in Candied Apple and the IsaDora Perfect Moisture Lipstick in Russet as I’m loving the model’s lips in the promo images.
There are also several other offerings such as a liner pencil, nail polishes, and a bronzer to choose from but for me the eye palette and lip items were what stood out most.

Overall, I’m really loving the imagery of this collection and look forward to hauling it. I’ve also glimpsed IsaDora Holiday 2009 and must say it looks thrilling but more about that later.
This collection will be available for purchase from Cosmetic Mall as of 09/15 and Amazon.com soon after.
