MAC Heatherette

MAC Heatherette is live on the website (CLICK!)!

w00t!

This is long awaited by MAC fans and very exciting although I must say that I disagree with all the hype simply because MAC Fafi was the holy grail Collection for me personally.

MAC Fafi for me had a better color selection and had more WOW then Heatherette is offering. Of course this doesn’t stop me from wanting a majority of this color story but for me MAC Fafi was much better and I think many of you agree with that after scoring some of Fafi for yourself!

The lippies in Fafi were bold and exciting where as the Heatherette lipsticks are a bit of a nude mix up. For a round girl like me I avoid nude lippies like the plague less they make my face rounder than it already is!

The palettes are lovely in this collection and I’m very excited about the gorgeous double ended liners (a first for MAC I believe?).

All in all it’s a nice lot of goodies but for me Fafi remains a true love!

My list of wants:

All the eyeliner pencils!
1 lippie maybe?
2 lipglasses maybe?
All the Beauty Powders for sure!
Pink Pearl Piggie

I can’t help but be a tiny bit disappointed. I wanted a bit more from this collection but the good news is I got the “bit more” from MAC Fafi!

How about you?

Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine Lipstick

Shu’s released 17 new shades of it’s Rouge Unlimited in a new formula entitled Crystal Shine. I’m dying to get my hands on some of these as they sound absolutely heavenly!

I adore Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks as they are so pigmented and gorgeous and the idea of combining that formula with shimmer and shine sounds amazing!

I wonder if these have a glossy fine finish!

I’m definately picking up a few colors and will review soonish!

MAC Beauty Powder Blushes First Impressions

I was lucky enough to get a few of the MAC Beauty Powders today! I’m pretty excited as they are bloody good! I got four of the eight and I’m currently wanting the rest!

They are terribly good and I must say I’m impressed with these for shizzle! I highly suggest motoring to your nearest counter or freestanding store to have a lookee!

I’m slightly puzzled over the “Beauty Powder” terminology and I’m thinking that’s just a fancy word for blush because these are sincerely pigmented, silky, smooth, and as easily blendable as a blush so where the term “beauty powder” comes into play I’m clueless about. As I had mentioned in a previous post most of my beauty powders from MAC are either filled with shimmer or are sort of a matte highlight powder or touch up powder where as these are full blown blushes in my humblest opinion! I guess this is MAC’s solution of combing two great products, blush and beauty powder, and coming up with one awesome product! On a side note these are pretty damn pigmented and pack a bunch so you might want to be very light with your hand during application!

Old Beauty Powder vs New Beauty Powder Blushes

These are smaller then standard powders I have or have come across. They are the size of a regular MAC blush and carry the same price tag of $17.50 USD. The product is extremely pigmented with a tiny sheen of pearl that really lights up my face! Within the colors released there are at least two or three you’ll want to take home for your very own or you might be diseased as I am and want to collect them all!

The colors I ended up with were Joyous, Sweetness, Serenely, and True Romantic. Joyous and Sweetness are probably my fav of the four. Joyous is a candy peach color where as Sweetness is a bright bubblegum pink. Serenely is a deep desert, dusky coral with bits of brown and rose and True Romantic is Dusty Pink.

Two brushes were released as well with the collection one of which I’m currently loving. The 169 is LE and quite a gorgeous little brush to use with these powders. 169 is pretty similar to the standard catalog 168. The differences I noticed between the two were that the 168 is a fuller brush where as the 169 seemed less so. I already own a few of the 168′s from various brush sets I’ve purchased so I’m quite pleased to now have the full size 169 in my beauty arsenal. This particular style brush is excellent for blush application, under eye powder application, touch ups, and setting powder on. I’m particularly loving the way this dusts the beauty powders on and gives me a natural flush to my cheeks! Very nice brush and worth taking a look at if you’re in store!

All in all the collection is quite nice and I’m impressed! I’ll be doing some FOTD pictures with the blushes on shortly so stay tuned!

Benefit’s Talk to the Tan

tan

51HxYi4uvlL. SS500

I’m not a big fan of self tanners, tanning, or anything else that has to do with the sun. I keep far away from bronzing, tanning, and anything else of that nature. I like my pure white skin very much thank you!

However, if you happen to love tanning and such you might want to see out Benefit’s new tan in a tube entitled Talk to the Tan. As I recall Benefit used to have a similar product entitled Aruba in a Tube or something like that. Another equally scary product from what I remember!

But ado if you’re dying for a tan in a tube do check out Benefit’s newest product!

If you do try it I want details and a review! icon wink Curious minds how it works! I know my sister is dying to get her hands on this but she’s the type that loves to look like burnt toast.

MAC Beauty Powders Blushes

I just blogged MAC Fafi not so long ago but it feels like ages since we last discussed MAC doesn’t it? It does however deserve to be mentioned that I’m enjoying how well MAC is doing with releases lately. They are spaced apart very nicely and I’m not seeing a huge flow of releases as we did last year. We seriously were borderline 3 collections a month or something last year and it was a bit too much for me to keep up with! But it’s been almost a month since Fafi’s release now and I’m liking the jive of MAC spacing it’s releases apart! I hope they keep it up!

MAC has two new Collections up and available for purchase at the moment one of which I’ll most definately be overindulging in myself! Obviously you can guess which one right?

Beauty Powder Blush!

I’ve heard so many rave reviews about the Beauty Powder Blushes and I’m definately picking up a few for myself!

The newest color story consists of eight beauty powders and two brushes.

I heart MAC Beauty Powders anyway and the idea of a pigmented beauty powder really thrills me. Most of the Beauty Powders I have either have a healthy dose of shimmer or are a matte color. Both of which are best used for highlighting! These new Beauty Powders are more pigmented so you can honestly get away with wearing them as a blush I’d say!

The colors appear very vibrant and bold so using them alone or to beef up your favorite blush will make the a cool multitasking tool to have in your beauty arsenal!

I’m currently lemming Joyous, Sweetness, and Serenely!

Each powder is $17.50 USD which is about a $3 difference from the standard MAC Blush. I believe these are about the same size as a MAC Blush as well and not the bigger compacts that some Beauty Powders have been known to come in!

I’m loving the look of the MAC 169 as well since it appears the perfect tool for application!

Honestly, I’m really wanting a few of these!

MAC Strobe

MAC’s newest color story, Strobe, is up and available at MAC if you’re interested!

Strobe is actually a color story that’s somewhat near and dear to my heart because it contains the Tinted Lip Conditioner Sticks.

A little history…..

My first venture into MAC was during the Sweetie Cake release and at the time they had offered Lip Conditioner Sticks and I had purchased one in the color pink resort. It had become a true favorite of mine and I toted it around everywhere. I’ve had to replace it three times since purchasing it by seeking it out on E-bay and paying way above retail for it.

My faithful friend, Pink Resort!

When MAC released Strobe I was over the moon at the prospect of getting my hands on new Lip Conditioners. I know a few people have ranted that they are sheer and just not worth the price and such but for me they are gold. I really love the natural look they give plus the moisturizing benefit alone is well worth the cost.

As you can see the packaging differs slightly from the previous release of lip conditioners! I’m really liking the new packaging which is on the right hand side!
Picture+041

I must admit that this year’s releases aren’t nearly as pigmented as my Pink Resort but I’m still loving the colors and the formula!

Strobe Current, Strobe Rays, and Strobe Kiss

If you’re a big lover of smoothing your lips down with balms, chapstick, or just one for loving a very smooth, moisturizing lip treatment this may very well be what you seek! I seriously have a bad habit of not touching up lipstick and gloss so I throw one of these in my purse for quick touch ups. They make my lips feel great plus I’m not completely bare lipped!

Strobe is definately something you might want to check out! I’m pretty curious about the cream which promises to revive and refresh dull, tired skin!

Strobe is available now at MAC!

Tiffa Spring Collection 2008

If you can believe it Tiffa has updated it’s website!

Whoa.

Big news here.

I can’t recall the last time Tiffa bothered updating it’s site and not only have they updated but they have a new Spring Collection up and available!

I’m not sure when this new line hits shops in Japan but I’d say shortly.

Tiffa is a sub-company of Kanebo and carries a small but lovely line of products that are inexpensive. The updates to the line seem very interesting and I may add a few to my wish list!

Three Glitter Liners have been introduced in pink, silver, and black for 1000 yen each.

springtiffa2

Also available are three “fragrant waters”. I’m not sure if these are body sprays or spray toners!

springtiffa3

And finally three cologne sprays! The introduction of these leads me to believe that the above could be spray toners! I sure hope so because they look interesting if they are!

springtiffa4

The new site is far easier to navigate if you are unable to read characters. The original site was cute but annoying as you had to unlock doors and such to see products. The new site offers a range of categories to find exactly what you are looking for quickly plus the pink theme is so sweet!

Not really any major releases for Tiffa but it’s nice to see the brand isn’t forgotten as it’s been a while inbetween releases! I’m holding onto the hope that they do some more of the dual shadow shimmers! The gold and silver is gorgeous! Love to see more!

Benefit The Fast and the Flawless Kit

Benefit’s released a Sephora exclusive kit that includes it’s popular oil free foundation Some Kind of Gorgeous along with some other interesting bits and pieces.

The kit also includes Eye Bright, Get Bent Lash Mascara, Benetint, a Mousepad, a carrying case.

P205310 hero

The kit is $48 USD and available from Sephora now.

I’m personally not partaking of this particular kit but for you Benefit lovers this might be something you want to snatch up!

I’ve always been curious about Some Kind of Gorgeous but each time I test it on the back of my hand in the store it just feels so wrong and the color is so beige and unflattering!!

Jillian Dempsey For Avon Horizon Blush

You may recall my babblings about Jillian Dempsey’s new blush from Avon a week or so ago! Having temporary memory lost? Click here!

Picture+025

Picture+026

The Muse was lucky enough to test out this new blush and can I just say one thing, AWESOME! Oh my god it’s my holy grail blush *holds it close and never lets it go*.

OMG isn’t it pretty?
Picture+030

Picture+027

Ok you shouldn’t be sitting here reading this anymore! RUN! NOW! Get to Avon and order it! It’s awesome! It’s on sale this week…am I tempting you yet?

Avon and I have a strange relationship. I pretend to hate it and it surprises me with sweetly awesome products!

This blush is sincerely amazing. I’m shocked and delighted at the quality, the price, the pigmentation, and the awesome packaging!

Let me start by saying that I’m hyperventilating a little bit because it appears that Avon only has this in one of the two shades. I could be in panic mode at any given moment if I’m unable to get the other color! In my possession I have Apricot Horizon but the blush is also available in Pink Horizon and I needs it, I needs it NOW!

I’m not sure if Pink Horizon sold out but I sincerely doubt it as it just hit the Avon site not a few days ago. Maybe it’s just not yet in stock? Believe me I’m at a stage where I’m searching E-bay for it so you know I’m seriously into this blush right?

First of all let’s give props to Jillian Dempsey for not only having a super hot husband but for also creating killer blush! I love you Jill, I love your husband more, but I definately have love for you after trying out this blush!

The blush is a gradation blush that gradually goes from a lighter shade to a darker shade in the compact. This basically means one side is really vibrant while the other is very soft. You can go from a daytime look to an evening look with a quick swipe of your blush! Both sides are extremely pigmented, silky, and beautiful on. Whether you want to use one side of the blush or mix it up and swipe across both sides you’ll get a gorgeous splash of color. When I was testing this I felt like mixing the colors up gave me the best look. The color is entitled Apricot Horizon but I get more of a pink feel from it with a tiny underlay of a deep, sunset coral. If I use the left hand side of the palette I end up with a rather subdued natural look but if I use the right hand side I get a vibrant, yummie flushed look that I favor! As you know the Muse prefers her blush “popping”! If I mix the two up I feel like the lighter shade really calms the darker shade and I get the near perfect color that makes me look like I just stepped inside from a cold Winter’s night! This is a look I favor so it’s pure perfection for me!

Swatchy! (My cam takes crummy pics when it comes to swatches but hope this helps some!)
Picture+034

Picture+035

The compact is quite a lovely slick affair and when opened it has a large mirror with Jillian’s signature on it. The blush is pretty large for the price of $7.99 USD (regularly $10 USD) so you do get quite a nice bit of product for under 10 bucks! It comes with a brush but it deserves to be said that the brush isn’t all that great. It sheds and it’s just too small to really work the blush correctly. If you use this to blend you must be a master artist because I ended up looking like a clown when I applied with it! A big, poofy brush is recommended for use with the blush in the Muse’s humble opinion!

I have one very tiny minor rant about this. It’s pure perfection in a compact however I found that when using my MAC 129 (or even the brush it came with for that matter) I ended up with major powder burst overload. Swiping the brush across the blush caused a major cloud of blush to spill everywhere! I’m saddened to think how much product I am wasting each time I use the blush icon sad

Now I’m going to tell you something that’ll knock your socks off. Get two. Seriously I’m totally ordering another one of these bad boys. I dunno if this is LE but it’s a safe bet to say in a month or so you probably won’t find it on Avon so might as well get two while the going is good. It’s rare I do backups on anything. I have far too much product to enjoy and buying doubles in my case is ridiculous. But I highly suggest grabbing two! I’m all over ordering another one and please for the love of cosmetics can we please see that Pink Horizon in stock soon? I’m dying here!

All I can say is fab job on this Avon and Jillian! I hope to see Jillian create more products for Avon like this one in the future!

This blush is most definately Muse Approved for purchase!
