Givenchy Spring Collection 2009: Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick Maharani Rose and Maharani Henna Photos, Swatches, and Review

Yesterday I gave you quite a chunk of the Givenchy Spring Collection to chew on. Did you enjoy those bites of goodness?

Your Muse sure hopes so!

Today I’ll be introducing you to the two new shades of Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick.

Excited?

Two new shades of Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick were introduced to compliment the Indian inspired Spring Collection and both are rather stunning. Maharani Rose is my favorite of the two as it’s a unique shade of rose that gives my lips just the right touch of natural pink. I was a tad bit disappointed with Maharani Henna as I thought it would be a deeper shade of red. Although Maharani Henna is advertised as a warm brick red I felt like it was more of a deep peach shade and easily duped by other colors in my lipstick library. Kinda bummed about this one as I was hoping for some sort of popping red to match up well with the bright hues of the Givenchy Sari Glow Blushes BUT the good news is I actually think the shade is quite lovely and a nice touch for Spring or Summer looks.

Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick are all quite matte at least the shades I’ve tried however even though I’m no great lover of mattes shades I must say that every shade I’ve purchased has always pleased me since the formula is so great. The formula is a luscious moisturizing blend that leaves lips with glossy and full of color thanks to the great pigmentation of the product.

Both of the new shades compliment the Spring Collection perfectly and even though I was slightly disappointed with one I still felt like it was a welcome addiction to the entire line up.

All in all Givenchy Spring 2009 could be shaping up to top this Muse’s favorite list for the Season!

Givenchy Spring Collection 2009: Givenchy Precious Sari Glittering Eyeshadow Maharani Silver and Maharani Gold Photos, Swatches, and Review

Here’s an interesting little item released with the Givenchy Spring Collection this year, Givenchy Precious Sari Glittering Eyeshadow.

Quite a new turn for Givenchy to do a creamy eyeshadow or in this case more like a gel!

Givenchy+Precious+Sari+Glittering+Eyeshadow+7

Givenchy+Precious+Sari+Glittering+Eyeshadow+2

Givenchy Precious Sari Glittering Eyeshadow is available in two shades and gives lids a shimmering, foiled effect, paired up with the Givenchy Sari Glow Blush you’ll be sporting a beautiful warm, sparkling look this Spring Season!

The shadows are a gel-like consistency that apply a very sheer wash of glitter to eyes. It’s really nothing to dramatic but the completed look is quite nice and I guess the fact that it’s so sheer actually works well because you aren’t taking away from the bolder blusher you’ll be wearing from the collection. This comes with a pointed tip sponge applicator which applies the glitter easily onto lids, blends it beautifully, and makes for ease of application along the lower waterline and inner corners of the eye.

The product is available in Maharani Gold which is a shimmering beige like gold and Maharani Silver which is a true silver shade. My favorite of the two is definitely Maharani Gold as I really love golds and secondly I think it’s much more suitable and themed towards the entire collection.

Sadly, at $26 USD these aren’t all that cheap and by now you’re probably thinking of a dozen other products you have stashed away that perform the same function at half the cost. Personally, I find them interesting and unique and worth the $26 USD price tag but I may be bias, as when it comes to high end cosmetics I rarely mind the high cost.

If you’re a big fan of Givenchy you’re going to want to pick these up. I do believe they are well worth adding to your Spring Collection list especially the gold! I’ll be doing FOTD’s in the next few days with the entire Givenchy Spring Collection 2009 so keep it tuned in here.

Givency Spring Collection 2009: Givenchy Sari Glow Blush Maharani Pink and Maharani Orange Photos, Swatches, and Review

To say I’m pleased with Givenchy Sari Glow Blush is an understatement! Sari Glow Blush manages to keep all the fine features I know and love about Givenchy Blush and add something a little bit different and extra to make the blush even better.

Givenchy released two colors of Sari Glow Blush both of which reflect the beautiful colors incorporated into an Indian woman’s traditional dress. Much like the MAC Manish Aurora release, Givenchy choose bolder shades of pinks and oranges to dominate their new Spring Collection for 2009 and the Muse can’t deny she’s absolutely thrilled with the colors and the products released.

Givenchy+Sari+Glow+Blush+15

Givenchy+Sari+Glow+Blush+1

Givenchy Sari Glow Blush is a tiny bit different when compared with other blushes released from the line as the formula is baked and a good deal more pigmented then many colors already available. I got both colors as they are quite unique, exotic, and beautiful. Givenchy managed to keep the texture and formula of the blush even though it’s a baked version so you’ll still get that iridescent “glow” finish when you use the blushes. Do see my FOTD from Givenchy’s Holiday Collection and I think you’ll understand the glow I mean! Pigmentation is excellent on both shades of blush so you can have a bold stroke of color on cheeks or a lighter sheer wash, it’s entirely up to you.

Givenchy+Sari+Glow+Blush+2

The colors available in the blush are Maharani Orange and Maharani Pink. Maharani Orange is a true orange blush and applies as such. Don’t expect to get a peachy glow from this, it’s orange, really orange. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s not easy to pull off for everyone and I have to say even I’m struggling with it slightly. The collection does have the vibe that it would work best on bronzed, sunkissed, or darker tones than my own medium fair skin. I’m thinking I need to try the orange on my sister and see how it looks on her! After a fair bit of blending I was kinda feeling the love for all that orange and felt quite dolled up! It’s a really nice glowing shade and I think it’ll look even better if I allow myself to get a little sun this coming Summer (highly doubtful I’ll get anywhere near the Sun but it’s the thought that counts!). Maharani Pink is a true pink shade that gives a nice stroke of shimmering iridescent pinched pink on my cheeks! I like this one alot as it’s a straight pink with a nice finish…not too bold but bold enough to be noticed.

Each blush is a dual compact which has the blush on top and a brush tucked away underneath in a separate compact. Givenchy obviously understands what addicts want, which would be not having our brush lay on top of our blusher! Of course, Givenchy has designed and themed it’s compacts with an Indian like flare around the border of the compact and a pink background for the Maharani Pink Blush and an orange one for the Maharani Orange Blush. The blush bears the Givenchy emblem smack in the middle and a black border all around the powder. Interestingly enough after a few swipes it still remains there…we shall see for how long!

I took note that these are $42 USD and correct me if you must but weren’t Givenchy blushes $50 USD last year? So again we see Givenchy making steps to lower the cost of it’s cosmetics, likey!

Overall, I think if you’re a collector and fan of Givenchy you’ll want to pick up both blushes. If you’re a darker skin tone I think you’ll want these as well as they’ll look stunning on darker tones especially those who are of Indian descent. I do Muse Approve them for purchase because I think they are unique and interesting items to add to your higher end collection. The Muse loves ‘em!

Barbie Loves Stila @ Sephora!

I got the blast e-mail from Stila that Barbie is alive and possibly kicking and screaming at Sephora!

barbie+loves+stila

Special thanks to Denise who e-mailed to say, “Hey Muse! Barbie cans are in stock @ Sephora!”

Thanks Denise! I sure did get snap happy to see ‘em up and available! the Muse loves ya!

Sadly, it appears that Barbie Loves Stila Foxy is sold out already or maybe she didn’t even come in yet? I’m not sure.

I was just discussing with my mate Betsy that my Spring makeup budget was doing quite well at the moment but I fear after the Barbie haul I’ll be washing out a chunk of my Spring cosmetic budget so at this point I’m rearranging my figures and trying to see what I can drop to make room for some Barbie Loves Stila (the Muse takes cosmetic budgeting VERY seriously)!

Clickie for more details on the collection!

How about you?

Anyone haul yet?

Tarte The Eraser Concealer Review

Dontcha just wish you had an eraser to wipe away fine lines, problem skin, and anything else that bugs you about your face? Wouldn’t that be the ideal product? A little swipe of my handy eraser and all my woes and troubles would be gone!

eraser

Well..I don’t really have an eraser to do ALL of that but the next best thing would be nabbing yourself Tarte The Eraser Concealer and calling it a day!

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+3

We’ve been on this adventure before haven’t we? Ahhh the concealer journey truly it’s grown to epic proportions and the Muse loves to gather concealers near and far and put them to the test to see how brave they are at concealing my under eye woes! Tarte happens to be pass all my tests and gets a rather high score in the concealer department.

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+4

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+5

The Muse freaking loves click pen concealers and this happens to be packaged in a chubby little click pen which in my opinion makes a great travel companion, easily stores away, and just makes application a breeze. Although the product is not new it has released several new shades for the Spring Collection release so at the moment you can get this in up to 10 shades which is truly fantastic. In particular they introduced porcelain which I was quite excited about as I had swatched Fair (the lightest shade available at the time) last season and it was a bit too dark for me but Porcelain is perfect!

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+6

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+7

The formula is a creamy moisturizing silicon and water based formula that keeps skin hydrated while wearing long without creasing or caking. It also happens to be extremely “green” friendly for those who are conscious what goes into their cosmetics.

You’ll be happy to know the formula contains none of the following:

  • Parabens
  • Petro-Chemicals
  • Phthalate
  • Sulfate
  • Fragrances
  • Dyes
  • Talc

It does contain all of the following good for you ingredients:

  • Safflower Seed (known for it’s moisturizing benefits)
  • Arnica Flower Extract (known to reduce the appearance of dark circles)
  • Cucumber Extract (Vitamins A and C)
  • Olive Oil (retains moisture in the skin)

My eyes seemed to like the formula very much and that’s saying alot considering that my eyes are super dry which causes creasing and caking drama. The formula is richly pigmented and fantastic for covering up puffy eyes, dark circles, and other woes and problems. It did a great job of waking up my tired eyes just as a good concealer should. The coverage is buildable so one click will do both eyes perfectly well and maybe a second one if you’re really wanting to cover heavy duty problems.

Tarte+The+Eraser+Concealer+8

If you’re not feeling the need to shell out $40 USD for our beloved Dior Booster Pen or YSL Radiant Touch I think that at $19 USD this makes a pretty great substitute. I don’t think the formula is as creamy as the Dior pen but it’s definitely in a class of greatness of it’s own!

Who needs it?

  • Anyone who likes click pen concealers for in a flash touch ups!
  • Anyone who needs a creamy, moisturizing concealer that’s pigmented enough to conceal puffy eyes, fine lines, and dark circles
  • Those who desire paraben free and good for you ingredients in their cosmetics!

All in all I think Tarte Eraser Concealer is quite a good concealer and does exactly what it promises. The price is right, it conceals and wears long plus it’s easy to tote around with you!

The Muse likey!

Anyone tried Tarte the Eraser?

Love it?
