Summer Collections 2011
Somehow May won’t feel May without a Pirate movie plus September 19th is ages away so speakin’ like a pirate right now probably wouldn’t be as funny as it would in September…
Although if it was up to me we’d all go around Arrr’ing our way through the day.
May is almost here and no pirate movie this year sadly but I’ll make it a little easier on you and go ahead and review DuWop Seashell Dual and Lip Dual to get you in the spirit of things.
I brought out Summer today for my Fall look. Sorry, let’s revert back for a second and take a peek at the Napoleon Perdis Tropical Heat Collection from Summer 2011.
So whatcha think of True Blood’s Season Finale? Or better yet this year’s season?
Personally, they jumped the gun so damn much it’s not even funny….
But hey, if nothing at all, that was an entertaining Summer.
I gotta admit Marcus Bozeman had such potential until Alcide crushed him. Did he have a little bit of sexy going on or am I just weird?
*shrug* Seems hawt to me.
Speaking of all good things True Blood anyone haul the Tarte for True Blood Lip Surgence?
I’m kinda mad at Philosophy.
Just when I convince myself I won’t be pulled back in their shower gel game, I get suckered back in. It’s like the shower gel mafia!
Recently, they started doing a super limited range of shower gels. Now, limited edition, can’t be taken seriously anymore in the beauty world. At one time, beauty junkies would quake in fear when someone even uttered the words LE. We’d all hoard away dupes of LE products and never pull them out of our beauty vaults.
But “limited edition” is tossed around to casually nowadays and gone are the days where we have to hoard dupes of products, makeup collections, etc…since stuff rarely sells out and that LE run is long……like years….introduce it today as Limited Edition and come back around the same time next year and that shiz will still be around on the shelf.
But Philosophy kicked LE back old school style with their Shower Gel of the Month Club at QVC. Each month, Philosophy introduces one single new shower gel that’s available for a single month before disappearing for good…! It all started out with Lively Lemon Coconut…!
Flash forward a few months and Summer brings Philosophy Maraschino Cherry Lemonade…
Moral of the story?
Get it now why the getting is good because it’ll be gone REALLY soon!
And now it’s time to say good-bye…!
To the Stila Beach Girl Palettes.
It’s been a nice ride this Summer and I really enjoyed spending it with the Stila Beach Girls but I guess this closes the door until Stila releases the next round of palettes. I guess we don’t have to wait too long as the release of the Find Your Magic Palette for Holiday 2011 might be a prelude of what’s to come!
Let’s take a look at the Stila Living the Life in Laguna!
Maybelline recently released their new Color Sensational Pop Sticks to a great big hooray from me. I was so excited when I found a display of these at my local drugstore and to add to the boon of that discovery they were also marked at $4.79 each! Yay budget find!
Visions of a better budget versions of DuWop Iced Teas danced through my head.
Were they any good?
Fare thee well Stila Beach Palettes, your chapter comes to a close with the release of the final Beach Girl Palette, Living the Life in Laguna.
Might I add that this could prove the best of the five palettes released this Summer?
Check the swatches tell me what YOU think was the best Beach Girl Palette!
As we head into Fall I really have to remind myself that Summer isn’t quite over yet and we’ll still see some warm weather well into September so tinted moisturizer? It’s so in on!
Fusion Beauty Prime Results Tinted Moisturizer has graced my collection for the past two or three months and its actually become a staple for daily use due to its incredibly moisturizing formula, my dry skin likey!
Let’s take a look!
Wet n Wild hasn’t always been a brand on my hit list. Let’s face it, the packaging screams cheaper, the price makes us wonder how anything that costs less than $3 could be an effective cosmetic product, and our inner snobs demand we stay far away from it.
But you can call me wrong and make me eat my words about Wet n Wild because the brand does, indeed, have some hidden gems amongst all those $1.99 price tags.
Recently, they introduced a selection of six ColorIcon Trio Palettes for Summer. The Wet n Wild Dreamweavers Collection contains all of these trios for a limited time with a price tag of merely $2.69 each (prices will vary depending where you shop it). Some of these palettes are quite exciting since the shade selection is much like the Holiday ColorIcon Six Shadow Palettes.
Let’s take a look at some of the Wet n Wild Dreamweaver ColorIcon Trio Palettes.
Kiehl’s Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ is a milky type SPF that’s oil-free and lightweight for protecting skin against both UVA and UVB rays. Those who have dabbled in Asian sun protection will understand the use of “milky type” as that’s a reference to the formula which resembles a runny liquid, ie, milk.
This is one of sunscreens in the mid-range due to it’s generous size and and nicer price tag of $34.
Let’s take a look!
Etude House Aloha Ice Sherbert Primer is part of Korean Brand, Etude House’s Summer Collection. It’s actually a traditional release for Etude House as they’ve done this type of primer before however with the Aloha Collection they went and downsized the size of the bottle which stinks as this is a very interesting primer that I enjoy using.
If you remember the Aqua Sherbet Collection (CLICK) you’ll remember this being a far bigger size at a far nicer price tag but I guess we can’t have it all and just should be thankful it’s back!
