Summer Collections 2011

Honestly, for something entitled Electric Tropics, I was thinking Dior Summer 2011 might be something that included some vibrant shades of orange but aside from the nail polish we are looking at some nude, natural shades of color for the warm weather ahead.

I’m kinda all about embracing the nude, natural look that’s trending this Summer. The Smashbox Softbox Collection looks like it has me covered for the trend but I’m also interested in snatching up the new Smashbox Limitless Beauty Collection available at Ulta for a soft, delicate look.
The set features a gorgeous eye palette, blush, gloss, eyeliner, primer, and a step by step guide for getting the look!
The palette seems so soft and delicious and I really love the peachy gloss and blush!
The entire set is $39 and available exclusively at www.Ulta.com

G arrived from the Sea yesterday, directly into my mailbox! She was a little damp and she brought a little sand and seaweed with her but for the most part she arrived safe and sound. She’s now living happily on my vanity but I fear she might crave the ocean and leave me soon as she’s only around for a very limited time.
Time to gush and squeal like children as G of the Sea is probably the cutest release from the Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Collection to date!

I’m on a tangerine kick for Spring and I have a funny feeling that I’ll rock it through Summer. But the trend for Summer 2011 is a more natural, nude, fresher appearance. In a reversed role (you’d think this would be a Spring trend rather than a Summer one) minimal makeup for a fresh look is what you’ll see for Summer.
Smashbox is the first to introduce us to the trend with some of their early offerings for Summer 2011.
Let’s have a look, I know one item I’ve already fallen in love with!

Stila takes its one One Step Correct Primer and lends it to their new One Step Bronze.
The triple-swirled helix serum instantly offers foolproof bronzer that illuminates, bronzes, primes, and nourishes your skin. It not only gives skin a sunkissed look but promises to act as a primer to give your face a flawless appearance while blurring the looks of fine lines and wrinkles.
The design features three shades in one formula so you’re getting a matte bronze with a coppery undertone, a bronze-y pink, and Kitten which brightens and illuminates your face.
This primer, illuminating, bronzing, color correcting skincare serum contains Stila’s Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex that supposedly:
- Reduces imperfections
- Improves skin texture
- Diminishes the look of fine lines & wrinkles
- Minimizes pores
- Hydrates, balances and nourishes the skin
- Controls oil production
Sounds sort of like SUPER bronzer! Here I come to save the day!
I’m not much for bronzers so this might prove a skip but if you need it you can get it as a pre-sale for $36 from www.stilacosmetics.com
