I’ve decided to do several reviews on the new Sephora + Pantone Collection but prior to that I wanted to do a mini review of sorts spotlighting the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Collector’s Set.
This review will point out some key features to the set but won’t really concentrate on the quality, performance, and wear time of the products since I have a review planned for each of the items included in the set. I’ll be doing those reviews over the next week. So if I don’t discuss the main specs of the product you’ll know why.
Sephora Be You Lip Stain is a new gel lip stain inspired with a tangerine-inspired color. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is a new product. Sephora has done lip gels and stains in the past but not one that was tangerine in color nor one that was self adjusting.
I was fairly curious about a self adjusting shade of tangerine so I purchased it.
I really love Mineralize Skinfinishes so I do get pretty hyped when MAC releases new shades. Stereo Rose remains a fond favorite of mine and I’m always hopeful MAC will release more along the same formulation as that shade.
This year, they go a different route with MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish. I’m actually glad they decided to not to release another collection featuring Mineralize Skinfinishes, this is new, unique, and different so what’s not to love about something fresh and innovative in the MAC world eh?
I feel like the MAC In Extra Dimension Collection is a new, exciting take on MAC’s traditional Mineralize release. I crave Mineralize Collections so this was an exciting collection.
I think it’s different for MAC as they haven’t really released something like it before but I’m also scared they might start doing one of these collections every few months thus overwhelming me with Extra Dimension Eyeshadows and Skinfinishes to the point I hate them, that happened with Mineralize Skinfinishes at some point in my makeup life.
But let’s not be negative, let’s talk positive.
Visually these are incredible. I’ll throw it out there and say they remind me of the the Velveeta Cheesy Skillet guy. I can picture him pouring MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadows, looking up at me with a twinkle eye in his eye, and saying, “Liquid Golddddd”.
Extra Dimension Eyeshadows are just incredible to look at. They look like just poured molten liquid metal.
Some of Rimmel Spring/Summer 2012 is popping up at ASOS. ASOS is never cheap to indulge but if you can’t wait for these bits to hit the US you might want to grab ‘em now from ASOS.
