Dark Spot Correctors
Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator is a product that completely baffles me. It gets some serious raves and I, of course, eagerly wanted to try it out since it promises to act as a fast acting serum to improve dark spots, sun spots, discolorations, etc….so basically a dark spot corrector of a sort.
Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Overnight Discoloration Perfector is one of three dark spot corrector treatments that Kate offers in her skincare collection. There’s a daily moisturizer, this overnight moisturizer, and also a dark spot treatment to use along with the other two.
I’ve actually been using and testing all three out since I purchased them back in December during a Friends and Family event that Kate had. I’m a strong supporter of Kate’s exfoliator but I’m not particularly keen on her skincare as my experience with her products hasn’t been fantastic.
I decided to wait patiently to indulge in her dark spot moisturizers and correctors until a sale knowing my track record with other products I tried from her as her products aren’t exactly cheap.
Kate Somerville Complexion Correction Overnight Discoloration Perfector is $70 for an a 1 oz tube so my reservations are probably understandable.
Let’s take a look!
I’ve had incredible success with much of the Philosophy Miracle Worker Collection and absolutely loved the Brightening and Dark Spot Corrector Treatment so of course the new Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple Acid Brightening Peel was something I absolutely had to try out for myself.
These are pre-saturated pads with brightening and anti-aging benefits. I’ve used them for the better part of four months or so now so I think I’m finally ready to review them.

Ah the old dark spot corrector….
I thank Clinique every single day for bringing hyper pigmentation and dark spots to the beauty world’s attention. I tried to love their Clinical Dark Spot Corrector but technically it was more about me using it religiously and convincing myself of how great it was working when it actually wasn’t doing much at all.
On the upside, I really appreciate the trend they created because the dark spot world was sadly lacking and now the market is saturated with a slew of options for correcting hyper pigmentation, dark spots, and sun damage. Praise the skincare gods!
I have a small amount of hyper pigmentation I’d like to correct that’s located on my jawline/lower cheek area so I’ve been trying every single dark spot corrector around.
Believe me I’ve been through numerous bottles that promise me the world and by far the best one I’ve tried is Philosophy’s Miracle Worker Dark Spot Corrector.
You NEED this.
Props to Garnier for creating one of the first Dark Spot Correctors I’ve every seen at the local drugstore. Spot correctors have been taking the skincare world by storm lately…Clinique started the craze and it slowly trickled down to various brands from high end, to mid end, and now at your local drugstore thanks to Garnier.
This lightweight daily moisturizer is supposed to fade discolorations including dark spots, age ones, and acne marks thanks to a healthy dose of Vitamin C.
Does it work?
Let’s find out!
