Eye Makeup Remover

Although I have plenty of favs I admit that Heroine Make Eye Makeup Remover tops my HG (holy grail) eye makeup remover list. So much so that I really wish it was something I could easily purchase in my local drugstore as going out of my way to stock up on it from Japan is such a chore sometimes.
Seriously, why can’t someone create a formula like this in our local drugstores?

I know, I know why am I reviewing Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover after last week’s fiasco with the Almay Eye Makeup Remover Pads right?
Well, I did purchase these together so I thought that lightening wouldn’t strike me twice. Thus I decided to try this formula in the hopes it would be better than the pads.
I’m unsure if Almay has every offered bottled eye makeup remover before. I honestly can say I don’t recall it and considering they have new displays popping up with a variety of eye makeup removers perhaps this in fact a new product. But feel free to correct me if isn’t as after all those pads were merely repackaged as I learned. Oh woe is me.

I recently picked up a little packet of Simple Eye Make Up Remover Pads and fell in love a little. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a brand that created little makeup remover pads just for your eyes. Granted, Almay and a variety of brands make a similar product but I thought it was rather novel that these were housed in a facial wipe style packaging with a quilted design!
Cute!
Take a look!

Ha I didn’t know Nuance by Salma Hayek had a Cucumber & Rosewater Dual Phae Makeup Remover ($8.49). I ran out of Maybelline Clean Express and had some of those Beauty Bonus Bucks from CVS that I always let expire so I was determined to use them (I let one for $50 expire a few months ago and another for $10 and….and….)!
So I headed to CVS last night after having a rather delightful Italian dinner with some friends. I must have circled the aisles twenty times because nothing jumped out at me and I was almost ready to pack it and forget about the stupid bonus bucks when I noticed this makeup remover.
So that’s my story about discovering this stuff. And it was long and boring but you know I love to babble don’t you?

Four score and seven years ago the Muse was a younger girl and tried out Almay Longwear & Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Pads. This devil product nearly put me off Eye Makeup Remover for all time. It was greasy, oily, and it blinded me with science…not really science but it was cool to throw that in a sentence.
No seriously, they were so OILY that they ended up giving me trippy eye vision for hours after. I must have been 18ish or so when I first tried them. I had a brief stint working at CVS when I was around 16 or so so it could have been even as far back as that when I originally tried them.
Almay recently launched four new pad eye makeup removers and two new liquid eye makeup removers. I saw the display, quickly shook my head, and walked away from it. Those pads are evil I told myself, you’re still recovering from the last time you used them, remember what an emotional wreck you were after using them that first time? Needless to say curiosity killed the cat but this cat was curious none the less….so I decided to repurchase the Almay Longwear & Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Pads. I mean there was Kate Hudson right on display, smiling at me reassuringly. This must mean they somehow reformulated these pads! No oil, no trippy cloudy vision that makes me want to play I am the Walrus as I stumble from my bathroom to my bedroom….goo goo g’joob indeed.
How are they?
