You may not remember Violet Newstead slipping rat poison in Franklin M. Hart Jr’s coffee but me and my sister remember it as if it were yesterday.
Ahh yes the 80′s at its best and a good year for the film 9 to 5 starring Dolly Parton (yea she acted a little bit as well as sung little ditties, who knew?)
My sister and I have watched this flick way too many times to count and could possibly star in a remake….
But this isn’t really about the movie it’s about the new Lush 9 to 5 Cleanser!
Now Samantha was trying to de-age her skin a fair bit so I’m guessing she was looking to diminish fine lines, brighten her skin tone up, and perhaps fight dull, tried skin or uneven skin tone. These would be many of the reasons you’d consider a facial peel.
However, from what I’ve read, facial peels are pretty darn harsh on the skin causing all sorts of irritation and redness because essentially it’s peeling away one layer to reveal a fresher layer beneath.
But my skin isn’t an onion…I don’t have layers you can peel away at will. I like my layers thanks so much and I’m not out to remove any of them…maybe polish them up a bit, maybe exfoliate them, but literally burn them off using chemicals? No thanks!
Philosophy The Microdelivery Purifying Peel is Philosophy’s cure to a gentle at home facial peel.
If you’ve been reading Musings for a while, I’m sure you recall the days that I didn’t review drugstore brands (US ones anyway). Things have changed considerably in the last year or so and I’ve embraced alot of US drugstore brands as I wanted to cover all aspects of beauty not just high end but also lower.
This past Spring (and some of Summer if you consider it Summer already) has been an incredible time for drugstore releases. Makeup quality has changed in the past few months as have the releases in store which had made going to my local drugstore a rather fun experience rather than a chore. Granted, not ever release is a good one but hunting down new products and finding gems in the rough so to speak is always great fun.
Do take a look at the slide show below for some of the latest and greatest releases that are available now at your local drugstores. Some are well worth checking out!

Have you hauled any of these items or collections for yourself?
Marked at a whopping $39, I could swear to it that Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme is thee most expensive hand cream my hands have ever seen! I actually spend $18 on Lush Smitten and dude, even that’s expensive to me. I guess I’m of the mentality that any hand cream will do and I’d rather dish out alot on skincare for my face rather than my hands…..
Votre Vu Duette Luxe Lip Balm and Hand Creme could change my mind though.
