Simple Cleansing Micellar Water ($7.99) is a new cleansing water that’s launching at drugstores now for Spring 2015. What is micellar water? You might want to check out my article to get you up to date on this skincare trend before reading this review to catch up!
Now people are quite excited about Simple Cleansing Micellar Water for a few reasons one of which is the fact it’s inexpensive and easily to get your hands on at the local drugstore. And secondly, Simple Skincare is notorious for keeping things, well, simple! Their formulas are very gentle and ideal for sensitive skin types so it is exciting to get your hands on a simply formulated cleansing water sans any harsh ingredients like fragrance!
Let’s take a look at Simple Cleansing Micellar Water.
I start off my review of Cerave Hydrating Cleanser by saying how much I dislike lotion style makeup removers. I’m not much into cold creams, lotions, or creams of any kind to remove makeup. I do prefer cleansing oils or some sort of foaming cleanser and in some cases I even use both for a double cleanse (oil first, followed up by a lathering cleanser).
The exception to my rule?
Cerave Hydrating Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin!
With all the talk about micellar water today I’ve decided I want to try a new one! I haven’t yet tried Bourjois Micellar Cleansing Water which launched in the UK a year or so ago so this might be the one I head in for.
What is Micellar Water? What is a cleansing water? Curious about cleansing and micellar waters? A lot of folks are. A while ago I wrote an article entitled “Cleansing Waters: Are They Necessary to Your Makeup Removal?” and much of what I said in it still stands true. I’m not really a huge fan of micellar waters aside from the fact of how quick, easy, and super fast it is to remove makeup when I’m being lazy!
In 2012, NARS Makeup Removing Water launched and soon after MAC released their own variation. At the time it looked like we were headed into a trend and might just see more micellar waters releasing from a variety of brands…! But the trend kinda died out slightly but with the recent introduction of Simple Micellar Water you might see more and more cleansing waters hitting the market.
So what’s is a micellar water anyway?
Biore Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar is a new follow up product to last year’s Biore Pore Penetrating Charcoal Cleanser (which I really liked). I’m a big fan of charcoal type products! I love Lush Dark Angels, adore Coal Face, and I think that MAC Volcanic Ask Mask is the bees knees.
Last year, I actually really enjoyed Biore’s Charcoal Cleanser too but many people weren’t so keen….! If you experienced problems with it I likely wouldn’t recommend a purchase of the Biore Pore Penetrating Charcoal Bar as it has some of the same ingredients including peppermint which isn’t exactly kindly to your face (and really an unnecessary ingredient anyway!).
