My Melody & Kuromi x Wet n Wild Blush & Highlight Brush Review

5 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild x My Melody & Kuromi Blush & Highlight Brush is a new, limited edition double-sided highlighter and blush makeup brush launching with the the new Wet n Wild My Melody and Kuromi Makeup Collection. Most people are going to want this as a collector’s piece and I totally get that but at this stage in my life I’ve moved past collecting. I’ve embraced a YOLO mentality with limited edition collections and I feel healthier for it. So, yup, I did crack this open and I used it! GASP! I wasn’t even tempted to grab a back up! I did keep the box though……!

I grabbed my brush at Harmons but on July 21st it’ll be available at wetnwildbeauty.com and sanrio.com as well as at ulta.com (in stores as well), Walgreens (in stores) CVS (in stores), and at target.com.

Here’s some thoughts on the My Melody & Kuromi x Wet n Wild Blush & Highlight Brush!

Wet n Wild x My Melody x Kuromi Blushlighter Palette Review & Swatches

4 stars out of 5

My Melody x Kuromi x Wet n Wild Blushlighter Palette ($7.99) is a new, limited edition blush and highlighter palette with a quad for four shades inspired by Sanrio characters My Melody and her rival Kuromi. The palette is part of the new Wet n Wild x My Melody x Kuromi that launches on July on July 21st at wetnwildbeauty.com and sanrio.com as well as at ulta.com (in stores as well), Walgreens (in stores) CVS (in stores), and at target.com.

I’ve already featured the Wet n Wild Kuromi Eyeshadow Palette in a review I did last week. That palette is exclusively dedicated to shades inspired by Kuromi but the Wet n Wild x My Melody x Kuromi Blushlighter Palette is actually split into two shade groupings one that represents My Melody and the other Kuromi.

Bath and Body Works Boardwalk Taffy Smells Like Strawberry Starburst

5 stars out of 5

Bath and Body Works Boardwalk Taffy is a new, limited edition fragrance that launched for Summer 2020 that I’m already hoping will be brought back next year. I’m the first person in the world to rant about the repetitiveness of Bath and Body Works fragrances but sometimes, just sometimes, they’ll surprise us with a truly great scent that sticks with us well after it disappears. Boardwalk Taffy is such a scent.

I said it over the Holidays and I’ll say it again, Bath and Body Works has really been stepping up their game lately with a few creative scents that they’ve thrown our way lately and I’m ever so grateful for it. Sure, they reverted back to all those coconut, Hawaiian, tropical vacation scents for Summer that just smell like the same repetitive tropical fragrance but they mixed things up when they threw Boardwalk Taffy into the mix.

This mix of spun sugar, pink berries, and whipped vanilla had me thinking, “Oh no not pink sugar!” I was convinced this would be a cotton candy-like scent on the level of Pink Sugar which I’m not a fan of but it turned into something so much better.

Sephora and the Retail Equation Collecting Data Without Permission Leads to Lawsuit

Sephora is allegedly being sued for sharing customer data without permission to determine if shoppers are fraudulently returning products according to a class action lawsuit taken out in Califronia that was posted today on news.bloomberglaw.com.

Here on Musings of a Muse we have long since spoke about people abusing the return policy at certain stores and even some of them who have revised their generous return policies due to this issue. We’ve also discussed how returns are tracked using the the Retail Equation!

Actually the fact they share info with the Retail Equation is where the lawsuit rises from. The Retail Equation keeps tracks of any returns you’re making at Sephora and and creates a risk score of sorts. If you’re doing too many returns it can potentially get you denied for returns in the future. The lawsuit alleges that the data collected and shared by Sephora with the Retail Equation violates the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as the Unfair Competition Law of California.

This has been a long and heated debated with many makeup users across a variety of different communities like Reddit. Some people swear they’ve been from returns at Ulta and Sephora where as others have
never experienced such a problem.

I can’t say I’ve actually had this happen to me only because I’m not a huge returner. I find returning is a bit of a hassle. When I’ve attempted it via mail at Sephora it takes several weeks to get the money back and that only happens when I actually make a call in and say, “Hey, did you get my return and where’s my $$?” Doing it in store always gets me treated like a criminal. It could be a New York thing but sales rep look at me like I just broke into the Pentagon when I want to return something. I tend to toss stuff I don’t like into a bing and either donate it to my mom’s senior group or let my sister or my friends dig through it. I also try to educate myself fully when possible before purchasing something but that’s not always an option when you’re blogging beauty as you want to get the item as fast as possible and review it so, typically not a lot of research or reviews and swatches are available on the hottest and latest new item.
