Of Course I Spend $36 On a Hair Mask and It Goes On Sale a Week Later

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Wakey wakey my friends! Time to wake up and makeup. It’s Hump Day and on Hump Day we do our hair. Actually, not really because I’m not a hair girl! I tend to slick it back in a bun, slap a headband on, and go go go. I am mildly obsessed with good hair care though!

Briogeo is a brand I’m obsessed with thanks to their awesome Scalp Revival Exfoliating Shampoo! I purchased their Scalp Therapy Essentials Kit at Sephora two year’s ago during the Holiday Sale and it got me hooked.

Of course, I purchased the new Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfood Mask last week and now it’s on sale. Murphy’s law! But I love it so, I guess I don’t mind too much!

If you’re a Briogeo fan girl you’ll be happy to know you can score 20% off your total today with promo code IPSY20.

Enjoy!

In Other News MAC Cosmetics Is Now Sold at QVC and HSN

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Welcome to a world where you can buy MAC Cosmetics at QVC and HSN. Yup, that’s right MAC Cosmetics is now sold at HSN and QVC as of today! As you know MAC became available at Ulta in 2017 and also, launched at Sephora in Canada around the same time. It was a shock to see MAC, which is commonly associated with department or freestanding stores, to available and sold at Ulta. I never thought I’d see the day! But Ulta has been busy collecting many different Estee Lauder brands lately. Sephora obviously lost the bid on that one because US stores never did get a lease to sell MAC in stores.

Fast forward three years later and MAC is now sold at QVC and HSN as well! What’s interesting about this would be the fact that both QVC and HSN have a huge catalog of MAC on offer. When MAC launched at Ulta it really started out with smaller selection of product. Not the case with this launch! I see a lot of the regular catalog items available from lipsticks to single eyeshadows and palettes. I wonder in the future if they’ll get the seasonal launched too.

The thing that’s great about MAC being at QVC and HSN is the ability to not only save money but also buy items in a bundle. If they do seasonal collections imagine buying value sets from this collections at a cheaper price? That would be great! Both QVC and HSN have many deals and sets from a variety of brands available so I don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same with MAC.

Both QVC and HSN also offer installment billing on almost all purchased they can be paid over the course of 4 to 6 monthly payments. It’s sort of a win win situation having MAC available for purchase from these locations.

Some folks might find it weird seeing MAC offered on shopping networks but as an avid QVC/HSN consumer I’ve always scored great deals on many different luxury and mid-range brands like Tatcha, Too Faced Cosmetics, Urban Decay, and many more.

What do you think of MAC Cosmetics turning up at HSN and QVC?

Thanks to Kimberly for sharing this info today!

MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss Brings Back Some Feel Good Makeup Memories

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss dropped today but I’m not sure how far we’ll be taking this considering we all have to wear masks for god knows how long. I do wish they pushed these lipglosses to another date but hey, they do bring back some feel good makeup memories.

These new glosses are available in six shades and promise a high-shine, non-sticky texture with a “sweet sting” complex that increases stimulation to lips to create volume. Hey, at least they admit the formula stings! Apparently they have a cooling sensation as well with hyaluronic acid and avocado oil to provide long term moisturizing benefits.

I remember I used to be obsessed with plumping lipglosses. Ok, so, aging myself here but who was obsessed with Lip Venom? I was! I was! I remember when they did a Twilight Lip Venom and that was so the thing for me. It not only plumped but gave you those blood red Edward Cullen lips. I do sometimes get embarrassed thinking back on some of my fandoms sometimes….! Ha!

I think I’m terribly scared of fillers and for me plumping glosses just seem the next best thing. I do like that many of the newer formulas that have launched in recent years are quite gentle and not as harsh as Lip Venom was. I mean, to me, Lip Venom was a tickle but to some sensitive users it was a major sting! Nowadays when you seeing “plumping” formula it typically means you’ll be getting a really thick gloss to give the illusion of volume. Where as before formulas contained things like cinnamon to actually irritate your lips into a fuller appearance.

P.S. I used to hate MAC Lipglass with a passion. I always felt it was the worst kind of sticky, tacky grossness. I still do in someways but that tackiness really does make it last and last and last. I have my doubts that the new Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss will not be sticky nor tacky but we’ll see how that goes. I’m curious to try this formula.

MAC Powerglass Plumping Lipgloss is available now.
