It’s a New Week Here’s What I Love

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

It’s a new week time for a current love’s list! What are you loving this week? Wanna share with me?

90 Day Fiance Because This Sh*t is Addicting
I pride myself on not watching reality TV shows. It’s just not my thing. I hate them actually but oh my god 90 Day Fiance WTF…!

Yolanda: How is she this gullible!
David: LANA IS REAL!
Ash: Where do you by those pants and those shoes? Ash, you got stock in jeggings dontcha?
Big Ed: Do I feel bad for you? Do I not feel bad for you? I’m so confused.

Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific Shampoo and Conditioner
I cleaned out my hair care closet and there happened to be a stash of Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific Shampoo and Conditioner. I hauled two sets back in December and I used one set but I forgot I had another. This is like the worst formula ever for my hair as it’s not moisturizing enough but I love the gorgeous scent. Most reviews say it doesn’t smell like the original formula but this was a release way before my time and I never used it back when it was available so, I have nothing to compare it too. I enjoy it because it reminds me of Lush Fever. Sort of a spicy carnation scent! It’s my quarantine hair care at the moment.

Nice People
I’m always a sucker for a nice person but now more than ever I appreciate people that ask me how I’m doing and how my day has been. Friends, family, business associates, strangers on the Internet, every single one of you that stops by here daily, anyone that takes a moment to be nice to me and talk to me I truly appreciate them. Seriously, you have no idea how far it goes just to ask someone “How are you today?” Remember to be nice.

Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels
Does anyone like Gardetto’s Snack Mixes? Because these pretzels taste exactly like they sprinkled Gardetto’s seasoning on them! They are so good. I’m obsessed!

The Inkey List Collagen Booster Firming Peptide Serum
I am so ridiculously dry lately and this wonderful serum from Inkey List has been a god sent. Not only does it hydrate well but it also, gives my skin a plumper, smoother appearance.

What are you loving today?

Remember That One Time We Were Promised Cash Rewards For Our Sephora Points?

Sephora released new Beauty Insider Rewards and Benefits a few months ago one of which was a Beauty Insider Cash program much like Ulta’s Cash Back Rewards that would allow you to exchange points for dollar amounts off your purchase. They actually haven’t yet implemented this program yet. The news broke back in February so it was well before COVID started giving Sephora plenty of time to get the program up and running but like most rewards this seems a fail. When will it happen? Who knows?

And why do I feel when it does come it’ll be something ridiculous like 1500 points for $2 off my purchase? Also, if it turns out as badly as the Rewards Gift Cards (remember the Huda Beauty Palette dilemma I had?) it’s going to be really crummy!

Other new bogus new benefits include and everyone gets free standard shipping benefit. Rouge still get free shipping so no compliants here but the bogus part comes in when they give “free shipping” with a minimum to VIB and BIs. Basically that isn’t free shipping in my opinion. For VIB it’s free with $35 purchases and Insiders get it free with $50 purchases.

There’s also a new discount event exchange. Sephora will run Insider events which you can exchange for. They haven’t elaborated what these events will be but it seems it’ll be a savings type event. Points will also be able to pay for services soon.

There are a few other benefits but they aren’t new by any means and reference the current Rewards Bazaar and Sample Program.

The most exciting aspect is most definitely the exchange for points benefit but I’m not keeping hope alive this is going to be implemented anytime soon nor do I think it’ll be as good as Ulta’s program. But we’ll have to wait and see!

How do you think Sephora will handle the new point to cash rewards bonuses?

I think they’ll a lot of conditions that come along with this new program!

Who’s Your Makeup Twin?

Remember when everyone was doing that Twinning Challenge on Instagram? I was matched up with Hannah Marks and people, I’ll take that to the bank thanks every so much! Not only is Hannah Marks pretty AF but Dirk Gently…! Need I say more? P.S. I look nothing like Hannah but it was fun being matched up with her.

That challenge was pretty cool and it got me thinking someone needs to do a makeup twin challenge!

Who is my makeup twin?

Do you have one?

Some celeb or influencer that you feel like you makeup like? I know a lot of people feel like the Kardashian’s signature look is most definitely their makeup twin. I mean say what you want about the Ks but their MUAs sure do know how to create some killer looks for them especially the signature nude lip one.

I sadly don’t think I have a makeup twin. I sort of do my own thing and I don’t think that “thing” is really being done by anyone else. I’m not really copying any celeb looks nor have I really tried to look like any particular guru.

Do you have makeup twin?

Or do you do your own kind of thing?

Wanna Have An Orgasm?

NARS Orgasm X Quad Eyeshadow arrived last week did you snag one? P.S. Get your mind out of the gutter over there.

NARS released two new Orgasm Eyeshadow Palettes as an early Summer 2020 release one of which popped up at Sephora during the last day of the Rouge Event. That particular palette is a softer selection of shades inspired by Orgasm Blush. I picked it up but in no way is it a good representation of the blush as the colors are very, very soft. The Orgasm X Eyeshadow Palette is another story. That’s actually inspired by the new Orgasm X Blush and includes a far deeper shade range. Did anyone notice that Orgasm X seems to have quietly replaced Super Orgasm? It’s only available a single pro refill but I can’t seem to find it in permanent packaging.

The Orgasm X Eyeshadow Palette seemed to be exclusive to the NARS website at the moment but it’s bound to branch out and wander onto higher-end counters when stores re-open I’m sure. From promo images it seems like an almost rosy berry infusion of shades that again, don’t really remind me of Orgasm.

Do you ever sit there wondering why after all this time NARS hasn’t paired up Orgasm with some sort of gold shade? Gold and peach just go well together! Why not do a palette with an actual Orgasm eyeshadow shade with a deeper gold for a sunset eye look?

And how long can we ride the Orgasm train? Hey, I’m not complaining give me all the Orgasm makeup. But at this point it feels like NARS has pretty much extended the Orgasm shade to every single product they can extend it too. Is there anything else they can shade like Orgasm that hasn’t already been done? My mind is already thinking Summer 2021! I need to brain storm with them on that collection.

Are you picking up the Orgasm X Quad Eyeshadow Palette? Or the Orgasm Quad Eyeshadow Palette?

Which are you loving more?

Where to buy

Huda Beauty Lawsuit for Unsafe Eyeshadow Palettes

A class action lawsuit has been allegedly taken out on Huda Beauty due to last year’s Neon Obsessions Palettes being falsely advertised as eyeshadows. A lot of people tend to jump on me when I mention in my reviews that certain eyeshadows or palettes are not safe for eyes. “But it’s safe in the Europe….! It’s just a US thing!” First off, I live in the US so, yeah, it’s a US thing and in the US certain dyes are deemed unsafe for eye use. Secondly, they are deemed unsafe for eye use for good reason. Some people have sensitive eyes and these dyes can irritate sensitive eyes and cause an allergic reaction. That’s why they say “unsafe for immediate eye use”. Thirdly, I can’t review an eyeshadow palette and not explain in my post that certain shades shouldn’t be used on your eyes!

When Huda released the Neon Obsessions Palette they were deemed “Eyeshadow Palette” on sites like Sephora. Sephora actually switched that around within days of my review and started called them “Palettes”. There were also numerous beauty sites that took to advertising the launch as an eyeshadow palettes doing a variety of different looks using them, etc…never once alerting the user that the formula was a pressed pigment and wasn’t meant for immediate eye use. There’s a lot of loop holes with the disclosure of what is and isn’t eye safe. Brands like Colourpop, ABH, and others have gotten away with how they disclose that information to consumers.

In the case, of the Neon Obsessions Palettes things were really sneaky because there was no mention of the palette being unsafe unless you thought to peel back the first label on the palette to reveal a secondary label with the disclosure. Most people probably didn’t do that and just assumed and trusted the palette could be used safely on their eyes.

According to a report on the Top Class Actions website the claimant in the website suffered physical injury, including eye irritation, as a result of using the Neon Obsessions Palette.

Did I see this coming? Yes. I think it was just a matter of time before someone got sued for this. I think brands need to take more responsibility for the way they advertise things. I swear I was all Thanos here for a sec, “I finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe.” Because seriously, I’ve been ranting about this topic for ages now. I’m not happy by any means Huda is being sued. That sucks. I am however, hopeful this will open the eyes of brands and make them more transparent with their fans.

What do you think of this lawsuit?
