Commodity Fragrances Will Return and Relaunch Soon!
Are you missing Commodity Fragrances? Well, good news! Commodity Fragrances and Perfumes will return and relaunch very soon and you’ll get to watch it unfold. How do you reboot a niche fragrance house from the ground up? You’ll learn shortly. In a video yesterday, president and founder of Europerfumes, Vicken Arslanian, said that Commodity will return!
Commodity unexpectedly closed their doors and the fragrances all were discounted massively (some are still available at a discount on sephora.com). At first the brand’s website remained up and said they’d return soon but a few months down the road the discounts starting popping up and the website was taken down. Most fans, myself included, felt this was the end.
Commodity was an interesting fragrance house that encouraged layering and creating new, unique fragrances by cocktailing different scents from their collection. Some of my beloved favorites include Wool, Gold, Velvet, and Nectar.
It’ll be nice to see it return and thankfully enough Vicken Arslanian and his company Europerfumes stepped in and purchased Commodity so we can see that happen. This is thrilling news considering Europerfumes distributes some of my favorite niche brands like Histoires de Parfum, Montale Paris, Roja Parfums, and many more.
One of the most interesting ideas that comes out of return of Commodity Fragrances is that Vicken plans to film the entire thing and I guess make it into a web series of sorts. He plans on putting together videos of what it takes to reboot a brand from start to finish. I am fascinated by niche fragrance and have an extensive collection of fragrance so I’m looking forward to watching this series and in the future restocking some of my beloved Commodity Fragrances and maybe, just maybe, discovering some new ones too!
So, a big thanks to Vicken Arslanian for buying Commodity and making its reboot possible. I am looking forward to watching how this unfolds how about you?
