Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
3 stars out of 5

I ordered one of the Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette in Neon Orange last week and it arrived rather quickly which allowed me to have some fun with it over the weekend. I got the Neon Orange shade selection because I love bright pops of orange and coral but if you’re sort of yearning both the Neon Pink and Neon Orange Palette and can only afford one I’d highly suggest going with Neon Orange as there are a few shades in here that will get you a neon pinkish look should you like.

One thing to take note of with these palettes is the fact they are named Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palette and NOT Huda Beauty Neon Obsession Eye Palette or Eyeshadow Palette. That’s because they contain pressed pigments that are not safe for eye use within the USA by the FDA. This was the case with the recent Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera Eyeshadow Palette as well. Outside the USA within Canada and Europe there are no such regulations. However, I do think the marketing could be presented better on Sephora’s site (Update: As of July 11th, Sephora has changed the information on their website and is no longer promoting this palette as an eyeshadow palette) which labeled these as eyeshadows which might imply to users that they are perfectly safe to use on the eye area when in fact they could cause irritation. Huda’s own marketing on her website also shows them on the lid and eye area.

The warnings are there for a reason though and should be paid attention to if you have sensitive eyes or allergies as you could irritate your eyes by using these shades on your eyes or even cause temporary staining. As always, be safe while using any and all cosmetics.

This palette is Made within China and has a dual label which I found a little deceptive. The first label shows the ingredients and you have to actually lift up the sticker to see the “not intended for the eye area” warning. I think most people likely won’t lift that second label up to see that warning and that sort of sucks. I didn’t go through all the shades many contain Yellow and Red dyes that are on the FDA no no list. For example, the Orange Shimmer shade contains Yellow 6, the Fiery Orange contains Red 22, the Yellow Shimmer contains Yellow 5, and so on and so fourth. For a complete list of yellow and red dyes that are not approved by the FDA in the USA check the FDA website.

Jump ahead for my swatches and review.

EOS Sprinkle Donut Lip Balm Is Coming To Help You Celebrate National Donut Day!

Did you know my dad came to this country when he was around twenty and started working in a bakery and by the time he was in his mid-twenties he opened his own bakery and was delivering fresh baked bread and donuts to supermarkets like D’Agostino Supermarkets in Manhattan and smaller supermarkets in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Croton-on-Hudson, and all over suburban New York.

One of the fondest stories I’m told over and over again by my sister, mom, and dad is me in a highchair squeezing a jelly donut to get the jelly out so, I could eat the donut without the jelly. To this day, I’m not a fan of jelly donuts.

Let me just say that donuts and bread has played a very important part in my life 🙂

I guess that’s why the new and very limited edition EOS Sprinkle Donut Lip Balm made me smile in joy. Launching tomorrow, June 7th, for National Donut Day, the new and highly limited edition EOS Sprinkle Donut Super Soft Shea Lip Balm will be available for 24 hours and yes, it tastes like warm-baked donuts with vanilla bean glaze and rainbow sprinkles. Even the packaging has rainbow sprinkles in the cat.

EOS dropped two other super limited edition launches called Happy Herb and Baked Brownie Lip Balms that sold out in 12 hours so, I suspect the Sprinkle Donut Lip Balm will sell out equally fast.

It’ll be $4.99 and available tomorrow exclusively at evolutionOfSmooth.com.

Makeup Obsession Mega Concealer Or Is It Just Makeup Revolution’s Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The new super affordable Makeup Obsession by Revolution Beauty launched at Target yesterday and I got to wonder is the new Makeup Obsession Mega Concealer the same formula as Makeup Revolution’s Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer? These are the things that keep me up at night.

This new makeup range is 100% Vegan and includes eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, concealers, and more for $4.99 to $14.99 and will be available exclusively at Target. Being the concealer junkie I am the first thing that caught my eye was the Mega Concealer that’s $9.99.

This formula apparently contains caffeine and acts to conceal dark circles, blemishes, and other imperfections. The demi-matte finish promises a creamy texture and the extra large applicator works a treat if you’re using this formula for contouring work! I did think since they are made by the same company that perhaps the formula would be the same as the amazing, incredible Makeup Revolution’s Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer but looks like they are different since I always felt like Makeup Revolution’s formula was creamy and hydrating. This promises a demi-matte finish. Also, Makeup Revolution’s Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer is available in large selection of shades where as Mega Concealer is available in merely nine shades.

None the less as a fan of Makeup Revolution’s Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer I must try out Mega Concealer to compare the two!

Neutrogena Sheer Smooch Lip Oil Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
1 stars out of 5

Neutrogena Sheer Smooch Lip Oil ($7.37) is a new lip oil that contains Vitamin E, Camellia Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil and Jojoba Oil. It’s been my mission to try and and all lip oils since Milani introduced Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment a few years ago. I just love the idea of a hydrating lip oil since I’m prone to drier lips. But I haven’t quite found an holy grail one as of yet so, I keep trying out new ones as they launch.

Neutrogena released a few new products exclusively Walmart items and Sheer Smooch Lip Oil is one of those items. It’s available in four shades and each one will set you back seven bucks and some change. I’d like to throw it out there and say that’s crazy expensive for this product due to lack of pigment and formula issues.
