Perricone MD No Makeup Making My Weekends Easy, Peasy, One-Two-Threesy!

I was compensated by a brand or company but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

I remember when Perricone MD No Makeup launched way back in 2012 and I remember how much I loved it. You see I’ve always had fairly resilient skin with very few breakout issues. Its always had a good smooth texture however, I do suffer from dryness and dullness but I really can’t complain too much. I truly believe it’s one of my best features and fairly low maintenance. This basically means that I never really had to use a ton of coverage. I gotta admit I’m one of those super judgemental people that gawks at youTube videos and Instagram posts where people pile on tons and tons of concealer and foundation. It makes my head spin! How is your skin even breathing with all that on!? I’ve actually never applied a complete face of foundation in all my years using makeup! Not even for a special event or a night out! I typically swipe a bit down the sides of my nose and spread it outward and I’m done. I do however, use concealer under my eyes as I’ve always been prone to tired, puffy eyes and I like paying special attention to this area.

That being said Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation is totally my thing. I prefer that no makeup, natural look but also, I like makeup that will brighten up my face, ease dullness, and even out my skin tone. That pretty much gets all that done in a sheerer, lightweight formula. With Summer around the corner it’s an ideal pick for light, no nonsense foundation in my opinion! The formula has actually evolved of the years as they offer it in more shades now and also, two finishes one a sheerer dewy formula and the other a semi-matte. Either one is actually great in my opinion and I’ve never had issues with the formula adhering to my drier areas. It’s actually a good formula for Summer if you tend to wear powder. The lightweight texture creates a rather great base for powder. I rarely wear powder as you know but when the heat sets in I actually like what it does for my skin! I tend to apply the No Makeup Foundation first and a dusting of powder after and it feels like it shaves 10 years off my face. It’s just a really nice, natural look without a lot of nonsense and on the weekends when I just don’t want a ton of makeup on it’s a perfect look and feel for me!

Speaking of products that have evolved so has Perricone MD No Makeup Concealer! I swear this product is more pigmented than it was several years ago. I actually use Medium all the time under my regular concealer as it has a sort of brightening and correcting finish that works great under other concealers. For the weekend, I end up using this formula only by using the “triangle of light” technique. Basically, for those that don’t know, that’s when you draw an upside down triangle under your eyes and blending inwards. The peachy shade corrects darkness and brightens up my eye area. This does run sheerer but it’s actually surprisingly more pigmented than some people realize. So, whether you want to beat the heat with a lightweight concealer, wear something lighter on the weekends, or maybe you don’t have a lot to conceal this is a hidden little gem.

And finally, last but never least, by two favorite products from the Perricone No Makeup Collection! Perricone MD No Makeup Blush and Perricone No Makeup Mascara. Seriously, if you haven’t added these to your stash do it. No Makeup Mascara is one of my HG (holy grail) formulas! It’s just a great mascara that adds volume to my lashes! And No Makeup Blush is a super natural looking blush with a creamy, easy to blend formula. Very easy to work with, very easy to wear, and doesn’t budge in the heat!

As we finally leave Spring behind and head into Summer I’m sure you’ll be wanting to haul out your lighter makeup and start doing some more natural, fresher looks! Perricone MD Makeup sure can help!

Elemis Peptide 24/7 Collection Available at QVC is Like a Spa for Your Face

I was compensated by a brand or company but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Hey skincare junkies! I know you’re out there and I know you’re going to want the new Elemis Peptide 24/7 Collection Available at QVC.

Before we get on with this post please know that this post features a sample of this set provided to me by QVC and it’s also a sponsored post meaning I was compensated however, all the opinions and thoughts expressed in the post are my OWN.

I have to admit when I started Musings of a Muse ten plus years ago I was not really that big a skincare junkie. I’ve always had really resilient skin that was smooth and blemish-free. However, I’ve always had dry skin as well which is dull due to that dryness. But all in all, my skin has always been one of my best features and never gave me issues. I think I’ve taken that for granted for a very long time and in doing so I’ve been more obsessed with color cosmetics than skincare.

However, something changes within the first few years of starting my blog. Where as before I was very loyal to particular skincare brands I found myself wanting to try new brands and new skincare. Fast forward several years into the future and I think at times my skincare stash surpasses my makeup one! Skincare can be a damn fun experience at times. Trying new formulas, seeing the results, combining things and finding out what works for me and what doesn’t. It can be a really interesting and fun experience and also, a rewarding one when I get the results I’m looking for!

Now Elemis, well, for me it’s more of a newer brand and I haven’t tried a lot of the line! Like most people I’ve already tried the legendary Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm! Because who hasn’t reached for that first when getting ready to experience Elemis? Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is just one of those items you hear talked about on skincare forums and blogs! It feels like everyone online has recommended it to me at least once!

But the rest of Elemis skincare collection is a bit of a mystery for me which is why I’m loving this new Elemis Peptide 24/7 Collection that’s available at qvc.com. It’s a really great way to try more Elemis at a great price!

The set contains three full-size Elemis products for $59. That’s a $157 value if you purchased these items individually!

The Elemis Peptide 24/7 Collection includes:

  • Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash (5 oz)
  • Elemis Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream (1.6 oz)
  • Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil (1 oz)

The Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash is a thicker creamier texture that creates a ton of lather and would work great in a double-cleanse routine as I didn’t find it drying nor stripping and it didn’t leave my face feeling tight yet felt like it gave my skin a nice, deep clean. I added Elemis Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream to my daily routine and so far so good! Although, a little thick for a daily moisturizer it still absorbs easily, provides great hydration but didn’t leave me slick or oily! And my favorite piece the Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil is pretty brilliant! This one is nicely hydrating but isn’t as heavy as a traditional face oil! It absorbs super fast and leaves my skin feeling very smooth!

Oh and P.S. They smell like a day at the spa! The fragrance is a very light, subtle, soothing fresh scent.

I’ve only been using these items a short time so, I can’t really say much about the benefits of each but I’ll share more details after I’ve tested them a little longer.

The set is an excellent value to say the least at $59.

Farsali Haldi Eyes Brightening Turmeric Eye Cream Probably Not Brightening But I’m Curious

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Farsali Haldi Eyes Brightening Turmeric Eye Cream ($40) launched today and of course, I’m curious to try it despite all its super hyped up promises. I may be in the minority saying this but Farsali is a social brand. It’s a brand that doesn’t have a really huge offering of products nor ones that are incredibly formulated but one that does have a dedicated and loyal following. In our current society, Farsali is proof how you can market something on Instagram and have it become very big, very quickly. With products like Unicorn Essence you can see where its roots are planted and where they flourished.

That being said, I have grown curious about to try some Farsali products and did enjoy using their Skintune Blur Perfecting Primer Serum that I recently purchased. But I am still quite skeptical of the brand because of it’s “Insta-Fame”. As a lot of the hype you find across social media is exactly that, hype without any real substance behind it.

Farsali new eye cream sounds quite interesting but again, it hides behind a ton of hype making it difficult to determine if this is a great product or just one that promises a lot of everything but delivers little to nothing.

But who knows maybe this formula will be amazing?

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash Has Me Wondering If It Smells Like Strawberries?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash ($33) launched today and I’m just sitting here wondering if it smells like strawberries? Or maybe Strawberry Shortcake? Ahhh Strawberry Shortcake! Who remembers her? A few years ago Cake Beauty did an entire Strawberry Shortcake Collection! Good times. Recently, Jill Stuart launches a strawberry themed collection too with a new Sweety Strawberry Hand Cream and Strawberry Whipped Rouge! Oh and P.S. that Josie Maran Strawberry Daiquiri Set is brilliant!!!!

I think I got off track there for a sec….! I do so love strawberry anything.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash is a gently exfoliating face cleanser that cleanses with a blend of white sugar crystals and strawberry and black currant extracts. It contains grape seed oil to helps to hydrate.

I’m actually a really big fan of Skin Food’s Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash which is $9.20 on sale at Ulta.com so, you might want to check that bad boy out before indulging in Fresh’s version at $33 🙂

Either way Fresh’s formula sounds lovely and I’d love to check it out!

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash is available now!
