My Summer Beauty and Makeup Essentials Available at Walmart

I was compensated by a brand or company but all thoughts and opinions are my own and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Beauty has never been one size fits all even though sometimes it feels that way due to advertising. When I started my blog 11 plus years ago diversity in the makeup and beauty world was never a major point of interest to brands. Foundation shades were limited, models were typically cookie cutter and all of them came in one shape, sex, and race. Let’s just say things were a lot different. Change has erupted across the beauty in the last few years and all for the better. Models are more diverse and they come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and sexes. It’s a new, refreshing, and different beauty community we now live in. Gone are the days when you walk into a store and can’t find the right shade of foundation because you’re too fair or too dark. Gone are the days when models are 110 pounds advertising the latest fashion. Gone are the days where women are the only ones advertising the latest blush, highlighter, or lipgloss.

Today, right now it’s now become a standard to have 30+ foundation shades to choose from so, you’ll always find just the right shade. Tess Holiday, a plus size model, graces Cosmopolitan and makes all of us that aren’t 110 pounds feel a little more comfortable in our skin. And men, are featured in a variety of makeup promotions just as readily as any woman.

It’s a new beauty frontier we are navigating through and for me it’s more exciting than ever before to be apart of that journey.

Walmart recently launched a new campaign called “Here for Every Beauty” that celebrates the over 327 different million faces that makeup America. When they approached me to partner and collaborate with them on this topic and to share some of my Summer beauty and makeup essentials I agreed happily because if nothing else I am all about beauty being FOR EVERYONE (the following is paid opportunity however, the products I’ve featured, the thoughts I’ve shared, and other opinions are solely my own). All races, all sexes, all sizes, and shapes. Beauty for me is about everyone. I’m not a model. I am not a makeup artist. I barely know how to blend my eyeshadow correctly and most days I might be walking down the street with clown cheeks thinking I look hot as hell. That’s just me. A goofy, geeky, short, chubby girl that loves makeup. I’m obviously not the ideal demographic for the beauty world but the beauty world is changing and it’s becoming a lot more acceptable for everyday people like me to be a part of it without any prejudice. It still has a way to go but we are definitely forging a new way to look at things and I love that. Everyone should be accepted, open arms, into the makeup world. I’m glad Walmart is bringing attention to diversity in beauty. It’s an important topic!

Speaking of diverse, Walmart has stepped up their makeup and beauty game. The aisles are pretty stocked tight with just about everything you need in the makeup and beauty world plus exclusives from brands like Wet n Wild and Covergirl. How much are you loving those Covergirl Her Majesty Eyeshadow Palettes which exclusively available at Walmart! I’m sure which one I love more! I purchased all of them a few weeks ago and they slowly are becoming my go to for Summer looks. Anyone try them yet?

So, as you know I’m trying to lighten up my makeup and beauty routine for Summer. I always tend to go lighter with just about everything in the Summer! I picked a few items out that will be helping me make that possible!

Jump ahead for a few more Summer Beauty and Makeup Essentials I recently hauled at Walmart.

Violet Voss Best Life Eyeshadow Palette Launches for Summer 2019

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I’m not much of a rainbow eyeshadow kind of girl but Violet Voss Best Life Eyeshadow Palette caught my eye today! This is a rather fun, vibrant selection of eyeshadows! It contains 14 shades plus seven finely-milled pressed glitters and of course, I was all, “Oooo love the combo glitter!” I do wonder when I’ll grow up and out of sparkle and shimmer. Will it ever happen? Will there come a time in my life where I’m TOO old for shimmer?

Naaa.

Probably not.

Anyway, I’m not for rainbow looks but this palette has some really fun, funky shades that might just make their way into my Summer wardrobe. Although, I did promise myself this year I’m going more natural and light with my makeup for Summer. Especially on the weekends when I’m WAYYYYY lazy about doing my makeup! Although, I do have a few Pride Parades upcoming and I need some fun, funky shades like this one!

Violet Voss Best Life Eyeshadow Palette is $49 and available now at Sephora.

Oh P.S. Supernatural Spoilers ahead…!

I finally got a sec to watch the season finale and the fact they killed off Jack really hurts my feelings. I was starting to like that kid. How do you think it’ll all end next year? A great big blaze of glory? Sam and Dean finally in heaven, taking a break, kicking back on a porch, sipping beers? I think they will die and that really makes me sad as I rather they meet a nice girl, fall in love, retire from the family business, and raise a few kids. But likely, the Impala is headed for a great big drop off a mountain somewhere a la Thelma & Louise. They’ve talked about it ending that way so much that I’ve become sort of convinced that’s how they’ll go with it! I have hopes it won’t end that way as these two guys deserve some sort of rest and now the 6 feet under variety.

That’s my two cents.

Happy Pride Month! May it be filled with rainbow palettes like this one and plenty of Wincest fanfic!

Pretty Vulgar Cool AF Lava Water Foundation Is Probably Cooler Than I Am

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Pretty Vulgar Cool AF Lava Water Foundation ($39) I mean that’s the coolest name ever right? I dunno which is cooler! Throwing around AF in a foundation name or calling “lava water”! There’s so much going on here my head hurts.

Not to mention the packaging looks like a bottle of my favorite Agent Provocateur perfume! I feel the need to throw my hands up and shout Yaassssssssssss! Come through Pretty Vulgar Cool AF Lava Water Foundation!

Ok, let me put back my inner early twenties girl and get back to discussing this like an adult.

But seriously, I’m convinced this is the coolest foundation evers. Which it probably isn’t but let me savor this moment.
