Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer Will Set You Back $20 Not $52

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

If you still have your eye on Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer (which I hated but still gets raves reviews across the board) but have been a little wary to set down $52 for it here’s a better solution for your wallet.

Go get Poreless Putty Primer from E.L.F. for $8! Well, not really as I haven’t technically tried that one yet so no idea if it’s an actual dupe for Tatcha’s version! We might have to wait and see how that one pans out.

So, the original it is!

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer is available in a mini size now that won’t set you back $52 but a mere $20! Plus it’s rather generously sized at 0.24 oz. I’ve always felt this was a little goes a long way formula so, 0.24 oz seems quite generous to check it out and decide if you have to buy that full-size version for yourself.

You can snag the mini version now at Sephora!

Clarins Instant Poreless Primer May Be A Replacement for Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch In Better Packaging

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Clarins Instant Poreless Primer ($30) and maybe it’ll be just the right replacement for a beloved fan favorite, Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch has been a Clarins fan favorite as far back as I can remember but it does come in a jar which is a little awkward to use at times. This new Instant Poreless Primer comes in a tiny tube so maybe, just maybe, it might be a nice replacement for Instant Smooth and in way better packaging too!

This primer not only minimizes pores and imperfections while helping to primer for makeup but it also provides a smooth, matte finish to absorb excess oil using organic strawberry treat fruit extract. It promises a lightweight formula that can be applied under or even over makeup to reduce shine and create a flawless finish while extending the wear of your makeup!

I’m curious how similiar it is in texture to Instant Smooth!

Clarins Instant Poreless Primer is available now.

Sephora Flash Shipping No Longer Available for Rouge in 2019

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

sephora flash

Sephora Flash Shipping will no longer be available for Rouge Members in 2019 as an automatic option. As per a recent article posted on Sephora’s community forums Rouge Flash Shipping is only available as a “Tier Celebration Gift in your Beauty Insider Profile.

2-Day Flash Shipping used to be a $10 option available to anyone that made purchases at Sephora but it was later offered as a free option for Rouge Members and later was raised to $15 for everyone else. The $15 Flash Shipping Option is still available for everyone but won’t be a free option automatically with your Rouge Benefits anymore.

Now what happens is you will be given the opportunity to choose a Celebration Gift when you upgrade or renew your Rouge Status as you’ve done in the years past (there was a NARS Blush, a Sephora Brush, and other gifts in recent years that were available) and one of those gifts will be Rouge Shipping. Rouge Members will recieve free standard shipping on all purchases with no minimum but the Flash Shipping is only available as a reward upon renewal of your Rouge Status.

2019 Renewal Rewards:

  • VIB members can choose one of the following three choices:
  • 500 bonus points, two makeovers to share or keep (no purchase required), or free shipping on purchases of $35 purchases on Sephora.com.

  • Rouge members can choose from one of the following three choices:
  • 750 bonus points, four giftable makeovers to share with your besties (no purchase required) or free FLASH 2-Day Shipping on all purchases on Sephora.com.

It’s not really a big deal since I’m not terribly interested in any of the other rewards however, Sephora has been decreasing the perks and benefits of Rouge for a while now and it’s starting to piss a lot of people off that spend big.

I imagine if you recently renewed your Rouge Status they will allow you to keep the Flash Shipping until your next renewal. However, if you are coming up for renewal after 01/16/2019 you’ll have to select it as your reward if you wish to keep it which does mean forgoing any of the other options available (which aren’t that incredible anyway).

Does the news of Sephora’s new Flash Benefits upset you? Or are you fine selecting it as a renewal gift?

Do share!

Tarte Aquaflash Foundation Brush Is Proof They Aren’t Ready To Give Up The Dumb Brush Handles Quite Yet

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

If flamingo brush handles weren’t enough the Tarte Aquaflash Foundation Brush ($28) is proof that the brand isn’t quite ready to give up the dumb brush handles quite yet. Think about it, what you need in your foundation life now is a coral reef brush handle because holding a coral reef shaped brush while applying your foundation really makes it easier to apply your makeup (NOT!).

Sigh.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a hell of a lot more cuter than those flamingo brushes from the Holiday 2018 Collection but you really have to question what they are thinking when they launch this stuff. The actual brush head looks quite solid with densely packed bristles that will likely create a nice flawless finish when applying foundation. But the handle, god, the handle. It looks awkward to use and might be an issue grasping firmly during makeup application.

What do you think of the new Tarte Aquaflash Foundation Brush?

Cute or gimmick?

As for me, I’m over all this under the sea mermaid stuff that Tarte is so obsessed with.

It’s available now at Sephora.
