Marc Jacobs Leopard Frost Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette for Holiday 2018

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Harvey Nichols launched the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Leopard Frost Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette ($44) for Holiday 2018 today before anyone else (It’ll be available everywhere else in November). Along with the palette there are five shades of Marc Beauty Le Marc Leopard Frost Lip Creme Lipstick as well! But the real star of the show is that eyeshadow palette! Meow!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Leopard Frost Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette is a limited edition 7 pan palette featuring matte and frost finish eyeshadows. It comes in a limited edition leopard print compact

It’s a gorgeous palette but they hit a snag with me when I heard “icy” shades aka frosts. Hmmm! I don’t do frost very well but it’s still yummy looking! We’ll see if it ends up in my cart this season!

What do you think of it?

The Makeup World Loves the Zodiac and Astrology But Do You?

I just got an alert this morning that Fresh is introducing a range Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy Zodiac Collection that features 12 treatments from the iconic advanced therapy collection that represent one of the 12 signs of the Zodiac. That isn’t all, get this, they teamed up with Susan Miller, astrologer-to-the-stars, to create this collection.

Ok, don’t kill me. I’m going to go on a little rant for a second.

Seriously though? Astrologer-to-the-Stars? I mean, this is way out there for a upscale brand like Fresh. Just like mermaids and unicorns, Astrology and the Zodiac is the next big beauty trend. Everyone from Wet n Wild to Bite Beauty and Colourpop has created a Zodiac-themed collection and I imagine, come Spring 2019, that it’ll be an even bigger trend. Even Bare Minerals Holiday 2018 is all about astrology!

Here’s the thing though. It’s all about Instagram isn’t it? Astrology and the Zodiac is an ideal Insta-trend and I get why makeup and beauty brands are headed in this direction.

The makeup world loves the zodiac and astrology and all things galaxy related but do you?

Jouer Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer review and swatches

Jouer Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer ($22) is a new full-coverage concealer available in 25 shades that contains hyaluronic acid and resveratrol. You might remember be raving Tarte Shape Tape Concealer when it originally launched. It’s a formula that surprised simply because I didn’t expect a matte, full-coverage concealer to work out so well for me. I associate matte with dryness and I’m already dry so the idea of a matte concealer under my eyes does concern me. Turns out the formula was ultra creamy, blended well, and didn’t cake or crease at all.

Fast forward several months after I polished some tubes and I am convinced they somehow changed the formula. I received some PR samples originally and I purchased two other shades from Tarte’s website around the same time I reviewed and swatched my samples (some of the PR shades didn’t work for me). All of those were just fine. About a year later there was a sale and I was running low on my original tubes so I did a re-purchase and that’s when things seemed off. The texture is the same great creamy consistency but I noticed that the formula was drier after blending and started creasing under my eyes. I hadn’t changed my routine at all and was prepping my eyes the same way. Was I drier maybe? Was my skin somehow the culprit? I have my doubts. I think they changed up the formula somehow. I’m convinced of it.

Anyway, I still use it however, I’ve been searching for something better and I’m so glad a lot of brands have been launching concealers lately, Jouer Cosmetics being one. I remember the days when Jouer used to have those cute snap together cream blushes and lipglosses. Needless to say they have come a very, very long way.
