Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette Tempting but Are There Any Takers?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette ($80) is a new, limited edition palette that Hourglass released for Holiday 2018 which includes Ambient Lighting Powder, Bronzer, Blush, and Highlighter. It’s a tempting, elegant piece of makeup but are there any takers out there for this one?

I’ve considered it. A lot. Perhaps too much and decided to skip it. This launch is repetitive for me even though it includes six, all new and exclusive shades. I feel like I have a ton of the Ambient Lighting Edit Palettes already which I’m barely making use of so my collection might not need another near $100 palette I won’t use.

But man, it is very, very tempting!

You get:

  • Ambient Lighting Powder in Soft Light (soft, subtle peach), Filtered Light (cool, medium tone)
  • Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Golden Bronze Light (neutral, golden bronze)
  • Ambient Lighting Blush in Nude Glow (shimmering light amber), Mood Flush (soft plum)
  • Metallic Strobe Lighting Powder in Champagne Strobe Light (true champagne)

I was never a strong supporter of Ambient Lighting Blush from the get go but I’ve always been a lover of the Ambient Lighting Powder which is odd considering I don’t typically use powder since my skin is drier. But this stuff really does create a beautifully smooth, diffused, soft focus on skin. I have grown to love the blush over the years but the powder remains a holy grail product for me.

I’m currently trying hard to keep my feelings to a firm no on this but every time I open Sephora’s page it’s front and center as if calling me to buy it. I’m resisting that siren’s call for now but not sure how long I’ll hold out!

Do you purchase the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette this year?

Memebox Headed to Sephora with New Brand Kaja Beauty

Memebox is launching a new brand, Kaja Beauty, at Sephora.com later this month. You may still be suffering from the demise of Memebox as you knew it but the brand has been busy repositioning itself across a variety of different outlets including Ulta and Sephora (and I suspect at some point Target).

Kaja Beauty was created exclusively for Sephora and will include a total of 47 items and will be available as of September 28th in select stores and this Tuesday online. Memebox has already raised 160 million dollars in funding after shutting down in 2017 while rearranging it’s business model to take on new ventures such as this one.

In some ways, Kaja Beauty will play an important role in the K-Beauty world since it brings color cosmetics to the Korean beauty world here in the US and at Sephora that was lacking. You might notice that many K-brands featured at Sephora don’t include color cosmetics but rely heavily on Korean skincare. That’s about to change with Kaja Beauty.

Why Is Not One Talking About the Laura Mercier Hidden Gems Eyeshadow Palette?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Laura Mercier Hidden Gems Eyeshadow Palette for Holiday 2018 ($55) doesn’t seem like it’s making the rounds in the beauty world at the moment so I think I’ll chat it. I always love when Laura Mercier introduces a larger eyeshadow palette around the Fall/Holiday Season! It’s even a little more exciting this year since the new Hidden Gems Eyeshadow Palette looks like a cooler palette. Something the beauty world is sadly lacking in lately.

The palette, like most palettes launching at the moment, is inspired by precious jewels. There are a total of 12 shades here each of which is 0.03 oz in size. It’s a palette that does contain ver few mattes it appears which is unusual for Laura Mercier but I’m not complaining!

I’m looking forward to meeting this one up close and personal!

It’s available now!

Clinique Chubbette Set Returns for Holiday 2018

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I’m happy to report the Clinique Chubbette Set ($49.50) has returned for Holiday 2018. I think many of you indulged in last year’s set and enjoyed it (as did I). It’s one of those really large lip sets that I really love and think of as a great value. Some folks are a little bit put off by the smaller size of the Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms included but I love them for travel.

Weirdly enough, Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm are one of the few products that have survived the test of time for me and are a product I repurchase quite a bit. I really love them and use them often since they are so easy for touch up, a hint of color, and a bit of moisture throughout the day!

This set includes 20 total shades of Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm and Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm. It’s a massive set to say the least. Each pencil is 0.03 oz in size.

You get:

  • Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm: Richer Raisin, Fuller Fig, Whole Lotta Honey, Graped-Up, Mega Melon, Chunky Cherry, Mighty Mimosa, Whoppin Watermelon, Pudgy Peony, Super Strawberry, Voluptuous Violet, Plumped Up Pink
  • Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm:Curviest Caramel, Broadest Berry, Roomiest Rose, Mightiest Maraschino, Plushest Punch, Grandest Grape, Roundest Raspberry, Plumped Up Poppy

I’m running low on a few of my fav shades like Curviest Caramel, Chunky Cherry, and a Whole Lotta Honey so I might just snatch this up!

Purple Lovers Will Adore the Bobbi Brown Ultra-Violet Eyeshadow Palette

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Rejoice purple eyeshadow lovers! Meet the Bobbi Brown Ultra-Violet Eyeshadow Palette ($39) is a new, limited edition purple eyeshadow palette that launched at Sephora.com this week!

A little late but this is inspired by the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year and probably one of the few items that were this year. For some reason, Pantone’s Color of the Year just didn’t successfully make it into any makeup trends much to the disappointment of purple fans far and wide.

The palette includes eight eyeshadows in the following shades:

  • White Noise (off-white)
  • Higher Ground (rich heather)
  • Electric Plum (rich metallic blue-purple)
  • Twisted Violet (sparkling lilac with opalescent blue reflections)
  • Black Charcoal (rich blue black)
  • Strange Magic (shimmering violet with blue reflections)
  • Violet Hour (shimmering purple with multicolor reflections)
  • High Fidelity (shimmering dusty mauve)

It’s a refreshing change from the standard round of warmer palettes we’ve seen lately and should be exciting for those who love purple! I’m more interested in the Bobbi Brown Infra-Red Eyeshadow Palette myself!

What do you think? Bobbi disappoints so much lately I tend to be a little hesitant to purchase anything from the brand! But I am tempted by Holiday 2018 and the Camo Collection!
