Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend Perfume is Back and I’m Stroking The Eff Out

I stalk Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend Perfume website like its my joy. I mean, it’s still up, and I still like looking at the pretty promotional images of Kate’s wonderful Boyfriend perfume but I torture myself since it isn’t available to buy and hasn’t been available for a long time.

In 2012, Kate released her first ever perfume simply entitled Boyfriend but the scent itself was anything but simple. It was a scent that was inspired by that warm, cozy feeling you get when you wear your boyfriend’s shirt. The perfect combination of a man’s cologne and a woman’s perfume with notes of amber, woods, smoke, and hints of sweetness.

Kate followed up Boyfriend’s release Billionaire Boyfriend which was great but not nearly as good as the original.

I’ve nursed both my bottles of Boyfriend and Billionaire Boyfriend for ages in the hopes that one day they might just make a return. I obviously live under a rock and wasn’t stalking the the Boyfriend website recently nor reading the news as WWD reported earlier in April that Boyfriend was making a comeback and today thanks to my wonderful reader Jennifer I now have two bottles on the way to me as it indeed back (hopefully for good)!

I’m overjoyed to say the least. I hope it’s just as wonderful as the original juice! I can’t WAIT to get a fresh bottle and smell it.

You can grab Boyfriend now at yourboyfriend.com.

Big shout out to Kate Walsh for reviving the brand. I hope she does more scents because I’m here and ready to buy!

NARS Orgasm Illuminating Loose Powder Review and Swatches

NARS Orgasm Illuminating Loose Powder ($28) is a new loose powder highlighter that launched with the NARS Orgasm Summer 2018 Collection earlier last month which is supposed to be the same golden peach shade as the original Orgasm Blush.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was about the prospect of owning a loose powder version of Orgasm in a highlighter formula. Yes, I was a little bit concerned that being a loose medium it would be messy to apply but I just kept thinking peachy pink golden glow on my cheeks and that pretty much calmed all my worries. I was also really, really hopeful it would be pigment enough to act as a blush as well. I just was really turned on to the idea of owning a loose powder blush of Orgasm.

Orgasm is one of those shades people either really, really love (like me!) or really, really hate. I happen to love it and although I’m not a huge highlighter person I really thought that NARS Orgasm Illuminating Loose Powder would be wonderful on top of Orgasm or all its own on my cheeks.

Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer Review & Swatches

Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer ($13.99) is a new 3-in-1 formula that acts as a moisturizer, makeup primer and SPF all in one. Everywhere I look lately it seems like the beauty world is being influenced by Japanese makeup and skincare. Earlier today I spoke about Benefit’s new Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation and after that the new Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipsticks. We’ve had plenty of Korean beauty moments in the past two years in the beauty world but nowadays it seems like beauty brands are taking on some of Japan’s more popular trends.

I’m mentioning this because Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer reminds me a lot of Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen SPF 50 and many other fluid SPFs that are so readily available at Japanese drugstores.

Milani Prep + Brighten Rose Face Oil review

Milani Prep + Brighten Rose Face Oil ($13) is one of two new facial oils that launched on the brand’s website early last month that contains a blend of vitamin c, sunflower, apricot kernel, sweet almond, and crambe abyssinica oils which act to hydrate and brighten skin.

I actually find it interesting how many drugstore brands seem to be venturing into skincare lately. Physicians Formula has really jumped head first into it and released a number of different skincare products earlier this Spring. But it wasn’t something I expected to see from Milani. I do wonder if this is a one off or if they have plans to extend their skincare options. We shall see.
