Kiko Jelly Stylo Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Kiko Jelly Stylo Lipstick is the way to go if you want to bring back glossy lips and be damned with all those matte, long-wearing liquid lipsticks. Not to mention these are affordable as hell at a mere $10 bucks each.

I’m done with the matte lip look. Actually I was never into it to begin with. As someone prone to dry lips I prefer a glossier, shiny lip look. This might be why I favor Japanese lipsticks so much as they tend to release mostly glossy, shiny lipsticks which seems a rarity here in the US as we tend to stick to satins, creams, or mattes.

I was every so delighted with Kiko launched their Jelly Stylo Lipstick Collection a few months ago and quickly snapped up a few shades and to this day I don’t regret to purchase and have actually used two of the shades up featured in this review. When you’re a makeup junkie with a large collection and you actually finish a lipstick that’s a major accomplishment and a testimony that the formula is good enough to use daily.

If glossy wet lips are what you seek for Spring looks you’ll need these Kiko Jelly Stylo Lipsticks.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie is a new powder lip cream that launched in eight shades for Spring 2018. I realize I ranted in my last post that NYX tends to do a lot of different lip products but many of them feel like repackaged items with new names. They must have at least ten different long-wearing matte liquid lipsticks that are identical formulas but just with different names. It does induce mental eye rolls from me.

When I saw the new Powder Puff Lippie it felt new enough to warrant a purchase. You might recall a few brands have cushion lip products which was quite popular in Korea a few years ago. I’ve reviewed a few already like Sephora Wonderful Cushion Matte Lip Cream and Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream both of which I really liked but I have to admit my favorite by far is NYX’s version. You already know I’m not a fan of matte lip products but they did a superb job with this formula. It’s so comfortable to wear and has a second skin-like finish that’s super smooth.

Let’s take a look!

Revlon Super Lustrous Live Boldly Lipstick Collection for Spring 2018

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

No word on the Revlon Color Charge Collection’s release online but there is a new Revlon Super Lustrous Live Boldly Lipstick Collection available for Spring 2018. And really who wouldn’t want a few new Super Lustrous Lipsticks to add to their stash because I don’t know about you but they are a fav formula of mine. Although, I’m sad to say a lot of the shades are repromoted with new packaging that includes a white barrel and a colorful “Live Boldly” print. I see quite a few favorite shades here like Cherries in the Snow and Fire & Ice along new shades like Killin’ It.

The collection is available for a limited time and bring along with them a positive message about inspiring women to express themselves with strength, style, and passion.

Shades include:

  • Fire & Ice
  • Cherries in the Snow
  • Killin’ It
  • She-nomenon
  • Boss Lady
  • Black Cherry

Sadly, I’m not seeing Gal Gadot in any of the promotional materials for this range of lipsticks. When oh when will she make her Revlon debut?!

Revlon Super Lustrous Live Boldly Lipstick Collection for Spring 2018 is available online only at ulta.com.

P.S. I know many of you are eager to get your hands on the Revlon Color Charge Collection but sadly, it hasn’t popped up online yet nor have I seen it anywhere aside from Walgreens. I’ll keep my eyes peeled though and let you know as soon as it launches in other locations or online.

Good Luck! I hope you’ve found it by now!

Brace Yourself The Unicorns Have Infiltrated Bath & Body Works

Unfortunately, no one is immune to the mystical allure of the unicorn this Spring including Bath & Body Works who now has a Unicorn Trainer Gift Set, Unicorn Bath Bombs, and even a Unicorn Antibacterial Soap. How did Lush not beat them to the punch!?

I’m sorry to break it to you but the unicorns have infiltrated Bath & Body Works.

But hey, good news, if you love unicorns you’re in for a treat. The rest of the grumpy pants like me can stand against the wall and mentally roll our eyes.

Sorry Dr Jart But Shake & Shot Rubber Masks Are Creepy AF

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Dr Jart But Shake & Shot Rubber Masks ($12) are a new edition to the brand’s line of popular rubber masks but man, they are creepy as hell! Granted, the images on the rubber masks have always been disturbing but even more so now with the 3D raised design and the straw stuck between the pouty little mouth! It’s like a horror movie come to life.

There were moments while looking at the promo images where I was like, “Bring out the gimp!” Sorry, I went there!

If you can get passed that hecka crazy creepy packaging these might be worth exploring! The masks are apparently formulated with potent actives that address a variety of issues such as dullness, fine lines, loss of elasticity and more.

Rubber and gel masks apparently penetrate skin more deeply than sheet masks which is what these promise. I will say in my experience I prefer sheet masks because they seem to hydrate better not to mention they aren’t slipping and sliding off your face the way gel masks do.

The masks come with a spatula for application and provide a DIY-like experience which allows you to mix your own mask. Just combine the booster powder with the liquid ampule and shake it together to create the mask. Apply it with the spatula, wait 15 to 20 minutes, and gently peel it off.

Formulas include:

  • Shake & Shot Rubber Hydro Mask (hydrates and helps retain moisture)
  • Shake & Shot Rubber Soothing Mask (calms sensitive, irritated skin)
  • Shake & Shot Rubber Brightening Mask (brightens dull skin)
  • Shake & Shot Rubber Firming Mask (Improves skin elasticity while firming)

These are available now at sephora.com just so long as you aren’t afraid of them eating your face you’ll be fine.

Really, you will be.

Maybe.
