It’s the Holidays All Over Again With Stila Glitter On The Go Liquid Eyeshadow Set

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Stila Glitter On The Go Liquid Eyeshadow Set ($25) takes us back to the Holidays with this new mini trio of Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows!

Stila released both the Written in the Stars Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Set and Eye For Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Sets for Holiday 2017 and honestly, I thought we would see anything else from them in terms of sets like those until next year.

But here we are in Spring and this cutesy little set arrives. This is a nice way to try out the formula if you haven’t already which is brilliant by the very way. Glittery, easy to apply and blend, wears well over powder shadow should you like, and practically perfect in everywhere like Mary Poppins.

These weigh in at 0.07 oz each and the shades you get are Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, and Smoldering Satin (a favorite of mine!).

I don’t need the set sadly as I have all these shades but if you’re starting to collect these or wanting to try them for the first time you can snag this set now at Sephora.com.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Vault Proves That Everything Kits Are a Thing for Spring

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I was just saying yesterday that the Stila Ultimate Spring 2018 Kit might start a stir in the beauty world where brands starting releasing their entire seasonal collection in one kit. We’ve already seen this a little bit over the past year with launches from Tarte and Wet n Wild but I think we might just see more brands start doing this.

I actually don’t scoff at the idea at all because at one point in my makeup life I’d likely be excited that some of my favorite brands were packaging the contents of all their seasonal collection into one money saving set. There have been times, times I’m a little embarrassed about, where I hauled an entire MAC Collection. I imagine if you’re new to makeup, just discovering it, or you’re just a collector that the idea of hauling entire collection is appealing.

I’m actually not at that point in my makeup life anymore. I’m good with one or two pieces from a collection. Plus nowadays there aren’t any real seasonal collections anymore anyway. Typically brands do a major palette release ever other day without releasing any matching lipglosses or other pieces of makeup.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Vault brings together some of Tarte’s latest Spring 2018 launches for $159. This isn’t the first time they’ve done a vault like this as they also released one with the Make Believe in Yourself Collection.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation ($6.99) is a new lightweight foundation that launched in the UK earlier last year and is now making its way to the US for Spring 2018. I’m pretty excited to see all these new lightweight, fluid drugstore foundations that are launching! I really liked Almay Best Blend Forever Makeup and so far, Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation is turning into a hit for me as well. This is saying something as I am a snob when it comes to foundation and concealers as I’m of the utter belief they are both splurge items.

I’ve always been a less is more kind of girl with foundation. I really like fluid ones since they tend to offer sheerer coverage that’s very lightweight and natural looking. I also tend to navigate towards foundations that aren’t terribly pigmented as I already have fairly good skin and only need coverage that will ease dullness and brighten my skin up while evening out my tone versus one that’s pigmented to hide redness, blemishes, or other imperfections.

I do think Rimmel’s 25 hour wear claim is ridiculous. I don’t think there’s every been a case where I needed to wear my makeup for 25 straight hours even during long travel or late nights that seems absolutely unnecessary. Not to mention, it doesn’t last that long anyway so, even if I wanted it to last that long it won’t. Come on guys, it’s 2018, let’s get off the long-wearing train. All aboard the reality express! I’d be more inclined to purchased if they promised that my foundation will last me for at least eight hours. I’m actually cool with that. 8 hours is plenty.

None the less, rant aside about the “alleged” long wear let’s chat formula.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Face Primer Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy Face Primer (Till Prime Dew Us Part) ($4.99) is one of two new facial primers that the brand has launched for Spring 2018 which is infused with pearl pigments to give your skin a luminous glow.

I was obviously not paying attention when I purchased this as I thought it was a hydrating facial primer as dewy translated as moisturizing to me. Sadly, it’s a shimmery one which I hate. I have a full face and I always feel like using moisturizers with mica or primers with shimmer, etc…end up making my fuller face even more full. It’s like shining a strobe light on my face. I just don’t love the look. I’m of the mentality that a touch of glow is lovely but glowing all over my face not so much.

Here’s some thoughts.

Too Faced Glow Job Radiance-Boosting Glitter Face Mask Review and Musings

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Love it or hate it Too Faced Glow Job Glitter Face Mask ($42) sold out quite quickly after it launched earlier this past December. I thought I’d review, share my musings, and thoughts on it since I’ve been using it for nearly a month now.

I did already share some of my thoughts about it in a prior post but I have so much more to say about this I don’t even know where to begin. The sheer stupidity of this product just leaves me at a loss for words. I personally believe they didn’t have your best skincare concerns at heart when creating this. Believe me, Too Faced isn’t concerned about creating a product that will get your glow back but more about going viral on social media. This is in fact why I think they created Glow Job. I’m sure the hope is it’ll gain attention and followings across social media, particularly Instagram. They likely have hopes that people will use it and post mini videos on it and hashtag it to death which in turn results in follows. In gaining those follows, they might even find a new consumer or two that never heard about Too Faced before which doesn’t necessarily mean said new customer will purchase the mask but perhaps something else from the line making them a fan in another way. And let’s be honest for a second, as a girl (and some boys too) we love sparkly pink glittery things and as absurd as you might feel this mask is you’re likely still attracted to the glitter on some level.

And let’s not forget the name and marketing that reads, “Give yourself a glow job….” This shock value is also an incredibly smart marketing technique that may be very appealing to a younger demographic of a sort. I’ve never had a problem with crass makeup names. Orgasm, Deep Throat, Virginity, Underage, Celebutard, are all controversial names in the makeup world. And really, Too Faced isn’t any newbie to sexual innuendos considering their bestselling mascara is entitled, Better Than Sex. But I have to draw the line somewhere. Give yourself a glow job? Really though? That’s just sinking to a new level. But it’ll go over huge on Instagram I’m sure.

So, you see Too Faced is actually a marketing genius.

On that note, does this actually work?
