Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Facial Replenishing Balm Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Philosophy When Hope Is Not Enough Facial Replenishing Balm ($47) is a moisturizer for dry skin that helps smooth, soften, and restore hydration. Don’t quote me but this launched last year I believe and it was on my list of items to pick up but for some reason I never indulged in. When Philosophy did a Buy 1, Get 1 Free during Cyber Week I decided it was time I indulged and I’m ever so happy I did.

As you may know I’m a fan that misses Philosophy Back to Nurture Deeply Replenishing Beauty Sleep Mask so very much and I was seeking some sort of replacement for that mask in the When Hope Is Not Enough Facial Replenishing Balm and on some levels it delivered much of the joy I got from the sleeping mask but in an entirely different formula.

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation Review & Swatches

Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation ($17) is the brand’s first-ever full color range of foundation which is popping up now at drugstores in eight shade selections. This is a mighty big step for Physicians Formula who typically offers most of their foundation products in 2 to 4 shades at best. I’m not sure if they plan on releasing even more colors as their Instagram account relates that they will have a full color range of this foundation available. So, the display I saw at the drugstore might just a preview of shades with more on the horizon! Especially since this Insta-post includes over sixteen color swatches!

That’s a major step in a good direction for a brand that has limited their base product shade range to single digits in the past.

Let’s take a look at Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation!

Physicians Formula Refreshmint Cooling Stick Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Physicians Formula Refreshmint Cooling Stick ($9.99) is a new multitasking skincare stick that contains peppermint, cucumber, and aloe vera that act to quickly hydrate and perk up tired skin. About two years ago stick everything was all the rage but the fade died out a little but it looks like drugstores are trying to recapture the trend particularly Physicians Formula who has not one but two different skincare sticks in the works for Spring 2018 (I’ll tell you more about the other one soon!).

Hydrating cooling sticks are quite popular in Japan and Korea and I’ve reviewed a variety of different ones in the past like Skin Food Facial Ice Vita Cooling Stick, Shara Shara Lemon Tea Pore Stick, and Baviphat Alaska Mineral Eye Stick. The US has slowly caught up to the crazy and products like Milk Makeup Hydrating Oil Stick, E.L.F. Studio Daily Moisture Stick, and even makeup remover sticks like Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil Stick have launched in our market.

I find these sticks useful, fum, and travel-friendly but I wasn’t sure what Physicians Formula Refreshmint Cooling Stick could bring to the table that I haven’t already seen in the huge collection of skincare sticks I already own or have owned in the past.

Almay Best Blend Forever Makeup Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Almay Best Blend Forever Makeup ($16.99) is a new foundation and moisturizer hybrid with an SPF 40 that’s launching at drugstores now for Spring 2018. This is probably one of my favorite launches of 2018 although to be fair there haven’t been that many launches yet for 2018 but regardless I’m really enjoying it. I’ve always been a rather big fan of tinted moisturizers since I’m blessed with fairly good skin that doesn’t require heavier coverage but still needs it to ease dullness, even out skin tone, and just to brighten up my tired complexion due to dryness. Almay’s Best Blend Forever Foundation apparently provides eight hours of moisture with a lightweight formula that protects skin as it hydrates.

Here’s my review, swatches, and thoughts.
