Play by Sephora The Iconic Edition Worth $20? Probably Not!

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Play by Sephora The Iconic Edition is a new $20 VIB Rouge Exclusive limited edition beauty box filled with luxury and high-end deluxe samples that launched last week. Mind you this is not a subscription box like the normal $10 Play by Sephora Beauty Boxes are. This was a one off that sold out rather fast but I mused in an earlier post that I felt like Sephora might be testing the water with this box and might potentially offer it as a monthly beauty box subscription or perhaps do other boxes like it seasonally.

One of the main complaints about the box was it was available for VIB Rouge Members only. This alienated a good deal of makeup lovers especially those on a budget who wanted to take advantage of a luxury box that contained higher-end deluxe samples at a more affordable price. If you don’t shop counter makeup often this was a nice way to try certain brands like Guerlain, Tom Ford, etc….

Unfortunately, Sephora limited the purchase of the Iconic Edition Play Box to VIB Rouge Members. Hopefully they’ve learned from the mistake because there was quite an outcry on their website within the review section of people complaining about this and the next time around it will be offered to everyone. Honestly, VIB Rouge status really doesn’t do me any great favors aside from the free flash shipping but even that’s not too big a deal since it only cost $10 a year for Flash anyway. Being offered a $20 Play Box because I’m a VIB Rouge Member isn’t doing me any great favors.

So, Play by Sephora The Iconic Edition worth $20? Probably not.

Here’s why.

Too Faced Fall 2017 Arrives With Glittery Eyeshadows and Melted Latex Lipglosses

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Yeah, I know, Summer isn’t even officially here and Too Faced Fall 2017 released today. No worries I’d say the Glitter Bomb Prismatic Glitter Eyeshadow Palette and gorgeous round up of Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipstick shades will be perfect for Summer looks. Speaking of which the Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette would have been a better Fall release versus the Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow Palette don’t you agree!? Seems like the shades in this release are geared more towards the metallic trend we’re currently seeing.

Here’s a peek at what launched!

Kat Von D Lolita Eyeshadow & Blush Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Kat Von D Lolita Eyeshadow & Blush ($19) is a new, limited edition blush and eyeshadow formula that was inspired by Kat’s best loved shade of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. It’s marketed as a universal shade of chestnut rose that contains a balance of tones that gives it a neutral finish that makes it easy to work with many different complexion. The concept is an interesting one to say the least, One ring to rule them all, ahem, I mean one shade to rule all skin tones. But we all know that colors and shades aren’t always one size fits all, sometimes it’s a one size fits most situation.

None the less, universal shading aside, I decided to purchase Kat Von D Lolita Eyeshadow & Blush for a number of different reasons. One, I like Kat’s makeup and two, most importantly I like Lolita and I found it intriguing to see it turned into a blush and eyeshadow.

Here’s my thoughts.

Laneige Lands at Sephora Officially

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Earlier this Spring I told you that Laneige would be available at Sephora.com and today it is indeed now available. I’m sure some of you are sad that the brand pulled out of Target but there’s also room now for it to expend at Sephora and perhaps offer a bigger catalog of items.

At the moment there are facial masks as well as a good deal of skincare available as well as Laneige’s cushion makeup and a few color cosmetics but the range is still fairly small but still a great offering and extension to Sephora’s Korean Beauty offerings.

The Hydrating Trial Kit is a nice way to familiarize yourself with the brand without breaking the bank at $25.

It’s nice to see Laneige has found a new home stateside.

Shop it now at Sephora.com.

Are you excited about there move?

Or will you miss them at Target?
