An Introduction to Ganache Parfums

Ganache Parfums is a niche line of fragrances created by Jarekhye Covarrubias of Haught Parfums. Ganache Parfums speaks to me on many levels because I am a complete and utter gourmand fragrance lover. Give me a fragrance that smells like apple pie or cake and I’ll go on my way very happily. I can stand in line at the grocery store and have someone lean in to ask me what I’m wearing or even have someone around me say, with some puzzlement in their tone, “Do you smell cake?! I smell cake!” You know your fragrance is provoking all sorts of emotions when people suddenly become hungry around you. Jarekhye created the line with this exact idea in mind, he believes that a gourmand fragrance can create a certain feeling of comfort not to mention it can be a great conversation starter. And truly, his concept rings so true.

I’m the Muse and I like delicious perfumes and Ganache Parfums fills my sweet tooth perfectly.

Pixi Peel & Polish A Game Changing Way to Exfoliate

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.

Pixi Peel & Polish ($24) is a new hybrid chemical slash physical facial exfoliating scrub that contains 6% lactic acid. I admit I had some reservations about Peel & Polish because I have dry skin and anyone who has dries skin knows that exfoliating can be a double-edged sword. Of course, as a dry skin girl I want to deflake and scrub away dead skin cells but I also hate doing it because it tends to strip my skin and leaves it feeling tight and two sizes too small. There’s so much irony in the exfoliating process for a drier skin girl or guy.

Recently, I tried out Vichy Double Glow Peeling Mask which was supposed to act as a both a physical and a chemical exfoliating mask. The idea was to smear it on your face and wait for the enzymes to eat away at dead skin cells. After a few minutes you can head to the sink, add a little water, and gently scrub to polish up skin. A pretty brilliant concept but sadly, it didn’t quite have enough scrubbing power.

Pixi Peel & Polish waltz into my life with the same idea and I had some doubts it would actually work. It contains a host of natural fruit enyzymes that act to loose up dead skin cells as well as lactic acid. The process is the same as Vichy’s formula, smear it on, wait a few minutes, head over to the sink, scrub, and rinse.

Does it work?

It’s actually game changing for me.
