10% Off Makeup and Beauty at Macys and How About That Dirty Dancing Trailer?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Hey there!

Quick heads up about Macy’s Friends and Family sale! You can enter promo code FRIEND on select makeup, beauty, and fragrance to get 10% off at macys.com. It looks like Chanel might be the only exclusion. Anything available at 10% has a small banner located on the bottom marking it as being available for the discount. I was looking through fragrance and most are discounted 10%!

Happy Shopping!

And P.S. How about that teasing clip of Dirty Dancing? Whoever that is playing Johnny is pretty hot but he kind of looks considerably older than Baby (and Abigail Breslin for that matter)! I’m looking forward to seeing this. Hopefully it isn’t as crushingly bad as Rocky Horror Picture Show!

P.S.S. I may or may not have watched the trailer like 3 times back to back. I admit nothing.

P.S.S.S. I promise not all New Yawkers have a horribly bad accent like that.

CVS Removes Parabens, Phthalates, And Other Gunk from Their Beauty Line

Remember a few years ago when natural and green beauty was everything. How many people remember Cargo Plant Love or Physicians Formula Organic Wear? Green is taking a new turn in the beauty world in the next two years as CVS plans to completely remove parabens, phthalates, and other gunk from their in store beauty brands. By 2019, all of the CVS in store brands will not contain these ingredients and that includes anything from the CVS Health, Beauty 360, and Essence of Beauty lines.

Apparently, that makes up over 600 products that are currently by these brands. CVS’s, Vice President was quoted as saying, “We listened when customers voiced their desire for products that still provide the benefits they need with fewer ingredients of concern. Todays announcement is a natural step in the evolution of our comprehensive approach to chemical safety.” While there isnt conclusive research to show the effects of parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde, this is just a further sign of the coming “natural” beauty revolution. Its getting a little easier to be “green.”

So, if these ingredients are ones that you avoid using in your daily beauty and makeup routine you’ll be happy to know there are many “green” friendly products that will be available soon at your local CVS.

Imagine A World Where The Next Big Makeup Release Is Being Cooked Up in An Incubator

I don’t think we have to imagine a world where the next big makeup release is being cooked up in an incubator somewhere in the Valley. This is literally happening right now, this very second. Makeup releases are accelerated to a point that you wonder how much work was actually put into releasing the product. I remember a time when brands were busy cooking up their next release years in advance but nowadays it seems like within a 5 month period they already have their latest big release on the table and ready to go.

You might think of Jobs and Woz hanging out in a garage somewhere in Los Altos baking up Apple but incubators have come a long way since 1976 and no, they aren’t all run by Erlich Bachmans of the world.

I read a really interesting article recently on Racked about beauty incubators that got me thinking, let’s chat this a little more below.

Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence ($20) is yet another fabulously great Korean skincare product that’s low in coast and extremely effective. You might recall earlier this month I reviewed CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence which might have made you turn away in disgust. If the idea of using snail extract on your face isn’t terribly appealing yet you’re still intrigued by the highly moisturizing formula you might find Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence a better option.

I’m of the strong belief that those suffering dullness or finer lines will see a smoother, brighter complexion if they inject a healthy amount of moisture into their diet. I can’t say I have finer lines on my face yet unless you count under my eyes. I do however, suffer from dullness and I always find that the more moisture I’m using the better my complexion looks.

Cosrx Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence is one of those star products that will not only hydrate your skin but also, helps to retail moisture and that to me is very important.
