Lush Flopsy is Probably A Flop

Lush Flopsy Face Wash Jelly might arrive in your Easter Basket this year. But let’s hope not.

So what, is Flopsy anyway? I couldn’t help but think, “Wow, what a fitting name for a crummy product!” And you might be thinking, “….but it just launched how would you know?” Allow me to refresh your memory about the horror show that was Lush Papa Noel Face Jelly which launched with the Lush Holiday/Christmas 2016 Collection.

I mean it’s terribly cute isn’t it? A jelly-like cleanser shaped like a rabbit’s mask. But I digress, I just want to discuss the fact I find it dumb they shape it like a mask. Seriously, though, what do they expect us to place it over our face and run around like Jerome Valeska, not that that isn’t a bad thing, or have our own Hannibal Lecter moment? And by the way, EVEN IF BY SOME CHANCE we’d want to put it on our face and hop around our house wearing it think of the germs and bacteria. Ew…! Like we wear it, put it back in the jar, and what? Clean our faces with it? Why?! Needless to say the need to shape this jelly as a mask doesn’t sit well with me.

Don’t get me wrong I love Lush but their shower jellies have always been a sore spot for me. When they introduced jelly face I had my doubts too but decided to try it and as suspected it was just as bad using the shower jelly. Most of it ends up down the drain and cleansing your body or in this case your face with this product proves fruitless. The idea is interesting, unique, but more of a novelty really. I had problems getting Papa Noel to lather up and even to break down which means chunks of it ended up down my drain.

The new Flopsy Face Wash Jelly is created with seaweed gel, almond oil, and glycerin with zesty lemon and bergamot oils. Depending your skin type those oils, especially lemon, might not be fab picks for you.

Moral of the story?

If you loved Papa Noel and didn’t want to see it go, good news! It’s back, kind of, in a different formula but still the same “great” format.

Personally, though the name for me is terribly fitting, it’s a flopsy.

Do not want.

Have you tried Lush’s Face Wash Jelly?

How do you feel about them?

Do share!

Physicians Formula #InstaReady Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Physicians Formula #InstaReady Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette ($11.95) are a new eyeshadow palette hitting the drugstores for Spring 2017. These are a retake of sorts on Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeshadow Palettes. They actually did this sort of Too Faced deal where they eliminated their old cardboard packaging and replaced it with a new plastic compact (Too Faced replaced their eyeshadow palettes with tins now). I dunno why, but this excited me for some reason.

Another reason, you might feel compelled to get on board is the fact these palettes contain a good deal of mattes. Sue, there’s shimmer here but not nearly the amount we’re used to from Physicians Formula Eyeshadow Palettes.

Clinique Chubby Plump & Shine Liquid Lip Plumping Gloss Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Clinique Chubby Plump & Shine Liquid Lip Plumping Gloss ($17) is a new lipgloss that the brand recently introduced to their Chubby Lip Family. Although it looks like a Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in style it’s actually a high-shine plumping lipgloss.

As a fan of Clinique’s entire Chubby Collection, I decided I had to check this one out for myself.

Here’s my review.

Unicorns, Mermaids, and Metallic Makeup Dominate Summer

Unicorns, mermaids, and metallic makeup are most definitely trends you’ll see more of this Spring and into Summer 2017. And yes, they’ll be plenty of highlighter as well. Mermaids fit right in here as I’m currently working myself through watching The Starry Night, The Starry Sea which is a Chinese drama about a girl who falls in love with a merman prince. Um, hello reverse Little Mermaid! Well, not quite. You see Ju Lan, our handsome merman, is actually in pursuit of a magical pearl that will prolong his life. He believes that our heroine’s grandfather has it. Needless to say the two end up falling in love along the way because ya know, it’s a drama, what’s a drama without romance right?

If mermen aren’t your thing you can always turn to The Legend of the Blue Sea which has a more traditional tale of a fisherman that captures a mermaid. No, not like creepy Night Gallery Lindemann’s Catch (you might want to look that one up and watch it), but more like Tom Hanks slash Daryl Hannah mermaid saves boy from drowning type with future magical elements involved. Added bonus Lee Min-ho sans the perm.

I can’t say I’ve ever dreams of being whisked away by a merman but I’ve always been terribly fascinated with mermaids in general. As for unicorns? Well, let’s just say I voted Team Tim Curry in Legend.

But what about a dose of unicorns and mermaids in my makeup?

Well…
