Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist Now Available

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Looks like Kat Von D Lock ‘N Load Makeup Setting Mist is now Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist ($14-$26). This new weightless mist promises to lock makeup in place for 24 straight hours. This comes housed in a special aerosol-alternative sprayer to deliver the continuous fine mist of an aerosol but in an environmentally friendly format.

It’s created for all skin types and has a light cucumber scent. After makeup application apply a fine mist of the spray to face and allow to set. The quick dry formula will create a seal around makeup so it remains fresh all day without leaving skin tight or sticky.

This one is available in a 1 oz size for $14 or a larger 4 oz size for $26.

Kat Von D Lock-It Makeup Setting Mist is now available at Sephora.com.

I don’t have this as of yet so I can’t compare it to the ingredients of the original Lock ‘N Load Makeup Setting Mist. I will say the new packaging sounds great. One of my main issues with facial spray is I always feel like I’m hosing my face down with water and ruining my makeup. I like this packaging and it sounds like the misting will be a lot lighter using this bottle. That could convince me to use setting spray more!

We shall see!

If I try it, I’ll let you know what I think.

Hey Dior Addict Lip Glow fans! There’s a new shade available for Spring 2017! Dior Berry Addict Lip Glow is the newest and fourth shade available in Dior’s popular color changing lip balm range. This sheer balm enhances your natural lip color with a burst of deep berry while moisturizing lips and protecting them with an SPF 10. I dunno about you but when I think Berry shades, Clinique Black Honey always comes to mind. Wondering if Dior’s new shade is anything like that?

Dior Berry Addict Lip Glow is available now at Sephora.com.

I’m a lip balm h0r so this is on my list not to mention my lips are cracked and dry as hell at the moment thanks to this cold that’s kicking my butt.

Oh off topic who watched Sleepy Hollow this week? I’m traveling this week so, I caught up with it my iPad early Monday morning during my travels. Way to reinvent the wheel! They introduced a slew of new characters and it no longer takes place in Sleepy Hollow which I find somehow stupidly funny (it’s sets in Washington now). The show in a train wreck but who can take their eyes off Tom Mison. It’s about the only thing that keeps me coming back!

I’ll leave you with this, which is SO not work safe, you’ve been warned. Later on you call tell your friends how you learned that Tom Mison was on Dairy of a Call Girl at Musings of a Muse 😉

How to Double Cleanse Without Stripping Your Skin

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

how-to-double-cleanse

Have you tried to double cleanse your face but feel like it strips or dries your face out when doing so? I have drier skin and I think double cleansing can be a truly fantastic way to get all the makeup, dirt, and other grime from your face easily. But as the Winter gets colder I tend to avoid double cleansing because I feel it strips and dries my skin out further. The idea of double cleansing is to remove all traces of makeup and to follow up and hydrate your skin well with the rest of your skincare routine. So, whatever was stripped during the cleansing process will be replenished by following up with proper skincare.

This works in most cases. Your first cleanse typically involves an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup and oil. Cleansing oils are great for removing makeup easily. If you have drier skin I recommend Farmacy Clear Bloom Makeup Glideaway Cleansing Oil because it doesn’t leave skin feeling dry or tight after use. I’d also recommend a cleansing balm for the initial removal process. For this I’d recommend Farmacy’s new Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm which I’m actually liking a lot more than my Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm at the moment. The second step in your double cleanse takes place with a foaming cleanser or facial wash which removes dirt, bacteria, and any left over makeup that your cleansing oil may not have caught. For my second step, I like using a foaming collagen wash like Kanebo Naive Deep Cleansing Foam Peach (Review).

Unfortunately, as the colder weather sets in I find double cleansing can be a little harsher on my drier skin.

So, here’s how to double cleanse without stripping your skin!
