Last week I told you that The Container Store is having 25% Off your entire in store or online purchase. It’s still ongoing if you’d like to indulge btw, up to April 13th w00t!
I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to indulge in a Bisley Media Cabinet or a Helmer Cabinet from Ikea. I finally decided to throw my hard earned cash on the Bisley since it’s incredibly sturdy, very tiny, and fantastic for stashing away my makeup!
Jump ahead for the deets and pictures of my Bisley stuffed full of goodness!
The Bisley Media Cabinet is meant for collectors, particularly collectors of stamps or baseball cards. I don’t think Bisley was thinking anyone would want to stash cosmetics in their fine cabinet but that’s exactly what I decided to do. The cabinet is costly and even after discount it was an obscene amount to pay but it organized about 40% of my makeup stash and made my life alot easier so that in fact makes it priceless.
The unit is super duper tiny! I’d say it reaches from my ankle to my upper thigh. I’m 5″1 so it’s not exactly a whole lot of leg we are talking about here (exact measurements: 11″ x 15″ x 23-1/4″ H).
I feel guilty but I ended up also purchasing some of the dividers that are sold separately from the unit. Each divider has different slots for storing small items into. They have various styles of these dividers to customize your cabinet. They are rather nice and make organization key but I’d much rather they include these with the purchase of the cabinet.
Anyway! Without further delay here’s some pictures of everything stored away nice and neat.
I’d honestly love to indulge in another cabinet to organize the rest of my monster stash but I think it’s a bit too much of an indulgence. Now I did avoid the Helmer from Ikea since it comes with the drama of putting it together plus I don’t think it’s nearly as sturdy as the Bisley. But maybe I’ll just get the Helmer for my second round of storage as the Bisley was rather expensive.
How do you store your stash?
Wanna muse improvements for Urban Decay Primer Potion with me?
How can you possibly take something as awesome and incredible as Urban Decay Primer Potion and make it better? Not possible!
But yes, I’m sure we are all in agreement we can def do a better job of UDPP. Not so long ago I almost lost a finger or two trying to cut open my bottle of Urban Decay Primer Potion. Can’t recall? Jump for the details!
I was quite pleased with the amount of UDPP that was stuck up in the neck of the bottle after splitting mine open. Oh how sad is it we all toss our bottles out and inside is tons and tons of primer still stuck in the the bottle. Sigh! After I hacked into my bottle I transferred all that beautiful primer to a small sample jar but turns out, for some odd reason, the primer isn’t nearly as good once it’s out of the bottle. The texture becomes a bit dry and actually loses it’s ability to hold shadow in place as once the open air hits it and it lays in the jar a while it just suffers through some sort of transformation. Or at least that happened to me.
So how in the world can we make UDPP better?
New packaging that’s how! I wouldn’t love a tube like Too Faced Shadow Insurance but I’d love a straight line bottle with the same sponge applicator so I can get all the goodness out without having the struggle with the sexy curved bottle the primer currently sports!
How about you?
Go on! The Muse knows you’d love a new style packaging for our old favorite!
Tell me how you’d make it better!
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation, I wants it. Promises of a perfectly flawless face is never lost on a Muse!
Ok, so Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation doesn’t have a super rating on MUA which makes me wonder if I need to bother my time with it. But I can’t help but want it for some reason. I’m unsure why this holds so much appeal! Maybe it’s the commercial? The promise of instantly flawless skin? The really cute looking bottle?
Actually….I kinda think it’s the bottle. The packaging kinda looks sweet doesn’t it!?
I rarely bat a lash at splurging $30-$40 USD on counter foundation but present me with a ten buck bottle of drugstore foundation and suddenly you have to pry that money from my cold dead hand. It’s a tough choice wondering if I should spend $10 on a bottle of foundation that probably sucks. But I admit the temptation still holds true.
After researching Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation I located the European release which is entitled Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. Now we all know, or I hope we know, that European drugstore quality in brands such as Maybelline is considerably better than the US release. Now the debate is do I need to track down a bottle of Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid or should I just travel on over to my local CVS and indulge in a bottle of possibly sucky Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation.
The choices a Muse has to make are sometimes difficult! Maybe I should just get both and compare.
What’s your good word on Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse?
Are you in Europe? Tried the Satin version?
Tell the Muse!
