One thing about Benefit you must know, they excel at base makeup products. Benefit has so many winning products when it comes to base makeup that I dare say many are HG (holy grail) material for this Muse. Which is why I’ve very excited about the newest item in their base makeup range, Benefit Matterial Girl. This silky powder is used for mattifying and setting makeup. Dust onto your face, nose, and forehead to make those shiny, oily areas disappear.

As with most Benefit products Matterial Girl comes housed in a cute, girlish container…after all we are material girls aren’t we? It’s all about the material things and the packaging sometimes isn’t it?

Loving all over this.

Rimmel Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara Review

Best news ever, my fav drugstore mascara has gone waterproof. w00t! I reviewed Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara for you before and it’s recently been revamped to now include a waterproof version.

I generally loved Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara when I first tried it out but I prefer my mascara in a waterproof formula. Rimmel Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara steps onto the scene with a brand new version and a waterproof formula. Score!

Now Rimmel Sexy Curves isn’t going to change your mascara world but it’s inexpensive price tag and very interesting applicator could prove it worthy of a pick up. The formula is nice and inky black and the interesting applicator pulls lashes upward and curls them very well for a longer, fuller lash look. The applicator is plastic and is made up of three round clumps. The trick to applying correctly and getting a solid, fuller lash look is to curl lashes prior to use as you’ll see the best results if you do so. The applicator seems to allow good even coverage of lashes and grasps each one between the rounder clumps that make up the brush.

Like I said it’s not going to change your mascara world but it’s a cheap, inexpensive way to get fuller lashes on the fly for a great price. It’s waterproof formula makes it smudge and flake proof so it’s ideal for the humid days we’ve been having lately. It’s unique brush makes it a winner for me and that’s saying alot as you know the Muse isn’t a fan of drugstore mascara so much.

Overall, I’d say it’s worthy of a pick up and a try if you’re in the market for inexpensive. It’s always great having at least one cheap mascara in your makeup case as you won’t feel so badly about tossin’ it out for a fresh one every few months! Rimmel Sexy Curves Waterproof Mascara wins this Muse’s vote for a good beauty on the budget pick.

Likey!

Lancome Declaring Indigo: Lancome Artliner Eye Liner Indigo Charm Review and Swatches

Some Fall Collections stick in the Muse’s head as being unique and interesting. Where as everyone in the makeup world is looking toward warmer browns and golds for Fall, Lancome took a step towards an interesting selection of golds and a dominate shade of blue to make up it’s Fall Collection.

Pairing up a deep shade of sapphire blue to reign over it’s Fall Collection is probably one of the most interesting ways to gain this Muse’s attention.

Jump ahead for a review on Lancome Artliner Eye Liner Indigo Charm from the brand new Lancome Declaring Indigo Fall Collection.

Although I have yet to get my hands on the Lancome Fall Palettes I will say that the main model’s look inspired me to recreate it using other items from my collection. Pairing up sparkling gold with a deep set sapphire blue was indeed a rather unique and interesting Fall look to go with. Although I fail to associate blue with the Fall, I will say I’ll gladly take the Lancome Declaring Indigo Fall look and make it my own as it’s so strikingly gorgeous and different.

Lancome Artliner Eye Liner in Indigo Charm is a beautiful sapphire jewel blue shade. It’s a very true blue color that pairs up wonderfully with gold. It’s richness is fitting of royalty but also great for Muse’s like myself. The liner is incredibly easy to work with as it has a good formula that doesn’t skip or require relining. A simple stroke will get you an even, pigmented line of jewel blue to line with.

In my case I took Lancome Artliner to the next level and used it to dupe the Lancome Declaring Indigo look as seen on the model below.

lancome+declaring+indigo+1111

For my look I gathered a rich warm shade of loose gold shadow and placed it all over my lids and lined my lower lash line with the same shade. Taking a small liner brush I painted Lancome Artliner Eye Liner in Indigo Charm in the outer v of my eye and blended it out and slightly upward into my lid. I lined half of my lower lash line with the liner and proceeded to smudge it into the gold already in place. The look is fairly easy to create and doesn’t require much blending or skill as the liner is incredibly creamy and easy to work with. Although I imagine Lancome didn’t create Artliner for this purpose it does work perfectly as a shadow as well as an eye liner.

My completed look is much like the model’s with a shade of blue dominating my eyes but a nice twist of shimmering gold to contrast the smoldering blue.

Overall, Lancome Declaring Indigo has some very promising pieces particularly the Artliner in Indigo Charm which is versatile enough to line eyes with and use as a cream shadow to lend a certain mystery to eyes. Lancome Fall promises a bolder, fresher, more unique look when compared with many of the same repetitive shades of brown that Fall is associated with. Something different and exciting is always in order the Muse thinks.

Likey very much and Muse Approved for purchase. I must get my hands on the Lancome Fall Eye Quads as those look stunning!

Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner Review

So I’m a complete an idiot when it comes to liquid liner. I’m ok with pencils and I’m alright with potted liners but really I’m pressing it to say I’m good with either. As hard as I try getting a single straight line proves impossible sometimes.

Now liquid liner that’s just a big mess waiting to happen as far as I’m concerned. I tried one or two here and there but I honestly do not have that steady of a hand to take full advantage. For the most part liquid liner is most definitely off my must have list.

Until now….

The Muse could possibly change her tune especially when it’s made this easy with the new Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner.

Check it after the jump!

Well wow, there may be hope for me still. Milani has introduced a brand new liquid eye liner to their line up and with it’s inexpensive price and precise point I could still yet become some sort of master wizard eye liner wielding pro.

Count me impressed and that’s saying something as I suck with liquid liner. I’m talking hot mess all over my eye. I really don’t know why I can’t get it on right but it just ends up turning into one big disaster anytime I try. I remember in high school being terribly jealous of this girl in my first period class, Angela, who had this incredible cat eye she wore each and every day but of course the Muse could not begin to dupe such a look. I’ve tried with cheap and I’ve tried with expensive but to no avail has lining my eyes with liquid ever become some easy task.

Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eye Liner is an absolute gem of a product. With a sharp, thin pen point this is a quick stroke and go liner. Your first line will be your last as there isn’t any tugging or relining required. The product is pigmented enough to work with a single stroke to get an even, flawless line across your lash line minus any drama. Part of it’s appeal is the precise point which gives an even, straight line with each and every use, no skipping at all!

The formula is waterproof and smudge proof for long wear even in the heat and sun. The small size makes it ideal to tote around for touch ups or to thicken the line for evening wear after work.

It’s probably one of the best liquid liners I’ve come across to date and makes me quite happy that I can finally attempt to use one without the normal chaos that comes along with liquids. Yay for the endless cat eyes I’ll be attempting this Fall, thanks Milani.

Loving you Milani Eye Tech Liquid Liner.

Total Muse Approval for purchase.

Givenchy Prismissime Eyes Poetique Blues and Poetique Browns Review and Swatches

Givenchy took a delightfully different road for their Fall Collection eye look. Where as the rest of the world is going bold, Givenchy’s look for Fall is a soft, romantic look with a range of delicious little shades to spark up your eyes with an ethereal glow.

Jump ahead for a peep and swatches of the new Givenchy Prismissime Eyes in Poetique Blues and Poetique Browns!

Packed inside each of the new Givenchy Prismissime Eyes Eyeshadow palettes are a range of nine gorgeous shades to create any number of softly focused eye looks.

Givenchy Prismissime Eyes Poetique Blues is packed with rich, sparkling jewel shades ranging from purple, to blue, and pink. Givenchy Prismissime Eyes Poetique Browns is a richer range of golds, browns, bronzes, and creams.

The friendliest palette for Fall would be Poetique Browns as it’s considerably warmer in color than Poetique Blues. If it’s a cooler look you fancy, Poetique Blues is an ideal selection.

As with most Givenchy Prismissime this aren’t heavily pigmented eye shadows. They give just a touch of shimmering shadow to eyes for a very soft look but can be built up in intensity depending on the shades used. I felt like the browns were considerably more pigmented than the blues. The browns definitely hold a special place in my heart for Fall and I imagine when the brisker weather sets in the blues will top my list.

Each palette has the typical stealthy little hidden compartment beneath which houses two sponge applicators and a brush. Some do find these a tad useless as they are so itty bitty in size however I think they are actually ideal for picking up just the right amount of color from each tiny square eye shadow and applying to the lid.

Overall, both are wonderful color combos and worthy of a pick up for true Givenchy fans. The browns are particularly a great collection. I’m quite pleased with both and ever so happy to have a new Prismissime to play with as it’s been too long inbetween eye Prismissimes for me!

A happy Muse Approval for purchase!
