Prescriptives Camouflage Cream Concealer Review

Ahhh camouflage doesn’t the word just get you excited when discussing eye concealer? Gets me all hyped that maybe this is the concealer that will change my life and just hide everything sad that’s going on under my eyes as I get older. Prescriptives Camouflage Cream Concealer sounds exciting enough! Camouflage my dark circles maybe? How about my puffy under eye area? My fine lines?

Hmm let’s check it out to see!

Been a while since I mused concealers hasn’t it? Might as well start the day right with Prescriptives Camouflage Cream Concealer. Let’s see what this is all about. This particularly concealer has just about everything I look for in a concealer lately. A nice creamy formula, great pigmentation, a nice hygienic squeeze tube, indeed all good traits.

Prescriptives Camouflage Cream Concealer has a nice creamy formula however it does feel slightly runny which I’m not a fan of but overlooking that I can appreciate how pigmented it is. It conceals quite well but do keep in mind I don’t have insane dark circles and for the most part I use concealer to brighten and freshen my under eye circles while using it to conceal puffiness and fine lines. It blends quite nicely and settles nicely into place however after less than an hour it started creeping into fine lines and creasing badly. Yak! No likey!

Although it manages to have a decent creamy formula and good pigmentation the fact that it settles into my fine lines so quickly makes it a deal breaker for me. I think if my eyes were a bit younger I’d probably make better use of this but since my eyes are growing older I need something that doesn’t crease or cake.

This one I sadly didn’t love. Decent enough but definitely not a love.

Anyone a fan?

Jelly Pong Pong Wakeup Makeup Palette Review

The Muse isn’t a morning person. Ugh oh my god I am so not a morning person. I’m more of a night owl and when morning comes I’m all about yanking those covers over my head and pressing snooze a few dozen times! This all means that I can use as much concealer and other makeup to make me as presentable as possible in the morning because I’m left looking rough at 5 am!

Which is why I’m enjoying Jelly Pong Wakeup Makeup Palette. It’s a nifty little palette I got with the Jelly Pong Pong Deluxe Gift Bags I recently ordered and told you about. Although I didn’t make proper use of the complete palette, I’ll tell you why in a sec, I thought some of the items in the palette were rather brilliant!

Check it after the jump!

This chic little palette is quite user friendly for brightening up my entire complexion and getting me looking fresh and awake in the morning. The kit includes an eye brightener, a face brightener, 3 eyebrow shades, tweezers, and a brow brush. The kit is $27.50 and sadly too much for me to dish out for if I was purchasing it separately but since I got it with the gift bag I don’t feel too ripped off. Reason I’m not loving the price is because I’ll make absolutely no use out of the eyebrow shades as my brows are already dark and full enough. However, if your brows are thinner and need a little filling the kit is awesome.

Even though the eyebrow shades weren’t of much use to me I thought the face and eye brighteners were brilliant. The eye brightener isn’t extremely pigmented but it still manages to create a nice illusion of a well rested Muse. A tiny touch is all I need to wake my eyes up and make them look nice and fresh. I wouldn’t consider this a concealer so don’t expect it to hide away dark circles or other under eye woes however it does offer a slight brightening effect. This is great to use maybe after concealer or as a little touch up through the day or when you are using minimal makeup. A little goes a long way as it does have a slight iridescent finish kinda like Lorac Double Feature Concealer. The face brightener is equally as nice as it does create a nice freshness to my skin. The result is very subtle, nothing wow aspiring but I rather like how it makes my skin look fresher particularly after a long day when I’m not wanting to redo all my makeup, a little touch of this and I’m looking nice once again!

Overall, the palette is rather nice if you think you’d make proper use of everything in it. For me it was a tad wasteful as I’m only really getting use from the face and eye brightener and possibly the tweezers. Maybe if they did a palette with just the two creamy brighteners that would be worthy of a purchase from me!

Anyone snag a deluxe bag?

Loving on it?

WANT IT: Fresh Rose Fresh Face Primer

Well gee I must be asleep because I didn’t notice that Fresh recently introduced a new primer to their collection. I was in Atlantic City this past weekend and while at the Bluemercury Apothecary Spa I came across Fresh Rose Fresh Face Primer.

Fresh+Rose+Fresh+Face+Primer

Read ahead for the deets!

This is the third release of primer from Fresh with High Noon and Twilight already a part of the collection. Although Fresh Rose Primer could easily be mistaken for Fresh Twilight at a glance and perhaps considered a dupe rest assured in texture and formula they are considerably different. I have Fresh Twilight and it’s an iridescent finish that casts a highlight on cheeks and face. After swatching Fresh Rose I was quite delighted that it was simply a white, fresh smelling primer that absorbed easily without leaving behind a finish of any kind.

Where as High Noon and Twilight cast a glow to skin Rose simply lays the foundation for a fresh, dewy face that you can follow up with makeup or just enjoy au natural.

Likey!

I didn’t buy it as I had already indulged too much that day at the Spa but I’m thinking it made end up in my basket shortly. It’s available at Fresh’s site right now if you find you’re yearning for it after reading this.

Anyone a lover of Fresh primers?

Which ones?

Lancome Fall Collection 2009: Lancome Declaring Indigo

Bjooti has the first images of the new Fall Collection from Lancome entitled Declaring Indigo.

I don’t always get excited about Lancome but sometimes they surprise me with delightful releases in the Fall such as the Mystery Game. Lancome Declaring Indigo is equally delightful with mysterious shimmering blues and touches of gold. I can get on board with loving all of this release particularly the shadow palettes and delicious shimmering golden powder!

Steal It: Pop Apple of the Cheeks Stain

Pop+Apple+of+my+Cheeks

I dunno if you recall but I reviewed Pop Apple of the Cheeks Lip and Cheek Stain several months ago. Well, good news, it’s on sale at Sephora!

I don’t pretend to know the mentality behind Sephora but they have these guys marked down as $12.60 and $9. Don’t ask me why one shade is more expensive than the other because I haven’t a clue. It’s one of life’s great mysteries that little feeble minded makeup users like ourselves were never meant to understand.

The good news is that these are a considerable mark down from the $18 or $19 I think I paid for them way back when. I think they make a rather fine fresh, natural makeup for Summer plus who doesn’t love stain that wears long, is sweatproof, and hot weather friendly?

Loves it! And all under $13 bucks (I kept it simple by saying under $13 bucks, don’t want to confuse anyone further with the $12.60 and $9 price plans over yonder).
