DERMAdoctor Med E Tate Review

Dude, wait, people get Botox because they sweat? Say word, who knew? If you seek a blissfully dry (as in sweating) existence it appears there are all sorts of remedies for it including injections and prescription drugs. Whoa. And I thought I had problems, luckily sweat never was one.

But it’s ok…if you sweat..alot…or a little…the Muse still loves you…mmmm just don’t touch me I’m kinda a germ phobic k?

Seriously though, if you sweat quite alot or enough to make you uncomfortable DERMAdoctor is here to fix the problem right up. You know how much love I have for the good doctor? She rocks my eyes daily and makes ‘em look all kinda of well rested!

Check out DERMAdoctor Med E Tate after the jump!

DERMADoctor Med E Tate are medicated hyperhidrosis-control wipes for use on your face or body to keep you dry all day.

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating even though a person remains inactive. This effects the face, under your arms, palms, soles, areas under the breasts, cleavage, etc…You don’t have to have hyperhidrosis to take advantage of DERMAdoctor Med E Tate as it also promises to keep makeup from melting away on a hot day! The product comes in individually wrapped packets and are medium size wipes that are heavily saturated with product. They feel cooling and non sticky after application.

I was recently given DERMAdoctor Med E Tate to test out and I wasn’t quite sure the best way to use ‘em. I don’t really have a prob in the sweating department as I remain comfortably dry all day, yo Secret deo thanks chica! So I tested them in two ways….I gave packets to all the men in my life. Good friends, my dad (who sweats terribly in heat), and even to my friend Jillian who, god bless her soul, runs 3 miles daily even in the heat. As for me? I collected the data and heard what they had to say about the pads and I also gave ‘em a whirl myself one day while I was outside for over 8 hours.

Most of my friends didn’t get the point and I was left with, “huh?” “wait what?” “you want me to use this under my arms and on my face…?” Yea well obviously these aren’t the most intelligent men in the world.

My dad was funnier as he thought it was rather great. He didn’t use them under his arms according to him but he did end up wiping his forehead with only one (I gave him five but he didn’t use them all) and said that it remained drip free all day. Go dad!

As for Jillian she used it the same way my dad did and had the same results but she also ended up using one under her arms as well and just reported feeling a cool sensation under pits for most of the run plus since the pad was so saturated she wasn’t sure if she was sweating or if it was the pad the entire time that was wet…geez….obviously this is why I’m the blogger around here…what terrible reviewers.

As for me since I’m not much of a sweater I felt like they were a rather nice cool down treatment on a sunny day. I’m not sure if they did much for makeup as they are so saturated I was terribly scared to wipe my face with them for fear of the pad removing my makeup but I did use on my forehead and the back of knees and it was a nice cooling sensation. One area it did seem to exceed at keeping cool and dry free was the middle of my back. I don’t sweat but my back tends to get damp on a very hot day. I ended up wiping my back with one prior to going outside and my back, surprised, remained completely dry. It wasn’t too hot a day so I think I’ll be taking these along with me when I head to California in the Fall as I want to test them out when I’m walking around in 85-90 degree heat and see if they still keep my back dry free.

So far I’ve read alot of reviews as I was curious what people were saying and it seems a big time rave.

If you sweat alot these could be a life saver and perhaps worthy of a pick up (maybe if you have sweaty palms you can now rejoice at these keeping them dry!). One box contains 30 pads for $48.

Anyone try these?

What do you think about them?

Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus Expedition Review

in Avon

There is nothing as evil as bugs. Ugh. Spiders, beetles, and other creepy crawlers just freak me the heck out. Squeal! I was much more tolerate of bug’ems growing up as a tomboy but as I got older the tolerance got lower and lower and now I’m just deadly scares of bugs. I remember growing up circa the 1900’s, my mum used to hose me down with Skin So Soft before going out to catch lightning bugs with friends (omg! lightning bugs how horrifying! I almost swallowed one once but that’s a story for another day)….I dunno what the deal was but Skin So Soft was the miracle cure for keeping mosquitoes at bay…no worries my mum wasn’t nuts as all the mother’s did the same thing!

But thankfully we aren’t as primitive nowadays and Avon Skin So Soft has a bug guard that’s actually MEANT to use with bugs. My mum is rejoicing right now I’m sure.

This is so for me because I’m a mosquito magnet, indeed they vant to suck my blood. Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus Expedition not only contains anti-bug’em repellent but also has an SPF of 30. Cool protects me from bugs and the sun, likey!

This 2 in 1 spray offers 8 hours of protection against mosquitoes, snags, flies, and other strange flying creatures that are fascinated with your blood or just want to hang out on your arm or leg. The formula is available in a gentle unscented spray or a Gentle Breeze fragrance.

If you’re outdoors alot in the evenings and the mosquitoes are buzzing around you pick up a can of Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard to keep both the bugs and the sun at bay.

Available now from Avon for $14.

What about you?

Pieces of Life: Harry Potter and the Half Arsed Movie

hp

Hey Guys!

Miss me today? Sorry just been really swamped with everything and anything. What are you all up today? It’s a humid day in New York today finally some weather we can call Summer.

I have a slew of posts upcoming shortly.

Jump ahead for a bit more babble!

Keep it tuned here as I have a ton of good posts upcoming and scheduled for you. Cover FX Water Base Foundation, Too Faced Fall Collection, and a bunch of other goodies are coming at you shortly.

Harry Potter spoilage ahead so if you didn’t see the movie look away now!

As some of you know I’m a Harry Potter addict and went to see Half-Blood Prince on Tuesday night for the first showing. Phew what a piece of junk. I duly rename it Harry Potter and the Half Arsed Movie. What the hell were they thinking? They had nearly two and half hours to perfect 600 some odd pages of a great novel and this is what they bring us? What a disappointment. Sigh. I think the only redeeming quality of the film was the fact that Bellatrix (my favorite character) appeared in the movie more than the 6th book. For the most part they had some pretty fantastic scenes but it felt like they filmed these scenes and proceeded to edit them altogether. The results…a wishy washy film that jumped around so much my head spun. I read the book twice but I kept thinking to myself what if I never read the book? What if I went into the movie blinded folded and didn’t know anything about the sixth book….I’d be clueless if I went in without reading the book as they throw so many things at you without fully developing the story. They also took great liberties of adding in scenes that never even happened in the book, what in the world are they thinking here? On top of these insults you have this stupid ending without a fight and a simple whip of Snape’s wand and some softly muttered words of Avada Kedavra and our beloved Headmaster is dead. What happened to the battle between the students and the Deatheaters? What happened to the spell cast on Harry to keep him immobile? He was left hiding out and cowardly while the man who mentored him was ruthlessly killed and watching like an idiot. Geez way to kill a moment. And the funeral? That’s cut.

Lord.

It a was mess to say the least. I was really disappointed.

Anyway!

Thanks for listening to my Potter babble.

What are you up to today?

Anyone see the film yet?

What new makeup are you playing with?

Beauty Battle: MAC 224 Versus MAC 217

beauty+battle+2

Gather round kids time to battle some brushes! I get alot of questions about which is the best blending brush for creating good eye looks. When I first started out with MAC I was recommended two brushes from a Specktra member that changed my life (and I’m sure yours if you own them). The 217 and 224 are recommended far and wide by MAC lovers everywhere as the perfect brush for blending color to a fine finish. They are two of my very favorite brushes and I probably wouldn’t want to face the makeup world without either.

MAC+224+versus+MAC+217+1

Placing them in the ring together to battle it out isn’t such a fine idea as they are both very good brushes and should both be in your arsenal but who follows rules anyway! Might as well stir thing up.

Our beauty battle will begin after the jump as I pit the MAC 224 up against the MAC 217. Who’ll be the victor? You’ll see have to read to find out more!

As I mentioned above both the MAC 224 and the MAC 217 are incredible blending brushes but of course one has to be the winner in this battle. Which will it be?

In this corner we have the MAC 224 which is a fluffy shadow brush specifically designed to blend out shadow color particularly in the crease. I wouldn’t recommend it for applying color directly to the lid but it’s a treat for blending shadow out especially if your contrasting shadow within the crease or towards the V of the eye. I reach for it often when blending and find it does a very good job of gently blending color together without creating a muddy mess. It’s $28.50 price tag is well worth it however the MAC 217 has a bit of an advantage with a cheaper price tag.

The MAC 217 is smaller compared to the 224 with fluffy bristles that are just a bit more denser. It works incredibly well at blending within the crease or all over the eye. It’s small size makes it a shoe in for fitting over the eye socket for a seamless blend. At $22.50 it’s $5.50 less than $28.50. With it’s cheaper price tag and ability to blend colors evenly while fitting nicely into the curve of the eye this could prove to be a major kick in the 224’s face.

Picking between two incredible brushes like these is a difficult task but I award the final knockdown to the MAC 217. It’s smaller size fits my crease quite well and allows me to blend easily without creating fall out which I find happens with the 224. It fits neatly all over my eye particularly my crease. It blends shadow like a dream and allows me to press as lightly or as hard as I like without having to worry about screwing up the entire eye look I am trying to accomplish. For the most part I think it’s advantage is the smaller length of the bristles when compared to the longer ones of the 224. For controlled application and blending the 217 wins this beauty battle hands down!

What do you think?

Does the MAC 217 or the MAC 224 win your beauty battle?
