Although small the Urban Decay Summer Collection has me drooling already! I can barely wait to get my hands on a few of the pieces being released. The Muse is always feeling the love for a little UD.

If you’re feeling like sinning too while you’re getting baked Urban Decay was nice enough to include some of the new Urban Decay Potion Primer in Sin to get you started. And complete it all with a Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon…it simply gets better and better…booze, sin, and getting baked? Lord, we are so COVERED for Summer! Loves ya UD!

Urban+Decay+Summer+Collection+2009+5

Possibly my favorite piece in the collection I like that they included all the baked shadows and a stunning ocean green to go along with it. It’s sort of a vampy, funky Bobbi Brown Surf and Sand palette for the hipper girl. Loves it!

Tis the Summer so we need some waterproof mascara now don’t we? Check out Urban Decay Big Fatty Waterproof addition to get you through those long days at the beach and in the pool. Won’t smear, won’t fade, won’t crack, stays where you put it until you want to take it off. Good bye raccoon eyes and hello Summer lashes!

Almay Pure Blends Foundation Review

The Muse has been really trying hard to get a few drugstore finds up and reviewed here. I know many of you shop drugstore and you want the latest info about whether or not items are a stash or a trash so I’ve been trying hard to get “into” the drugstore scene.

My latest drugstore purchase brought me to Almay Pure Blends. Although I’m not always conscious (bad, bad habit) about what goes onto my face, I realize many of you are which is why I wanted to review this line for you and see if lived up the hype.

Almay+Pure+Blends+Foundation+1

Find out if it did after the jump!

Almay Pure Blends is a brand new collection from Almay that promises 97.4% natural ingredients. It’s housed in eco-friendly package, blended with antioxidants of lotus, orchid, and acia plus has a paraben free, talc free formula. For anyone terribly sensitive it’s also hypoallergenic as well.

Almay+Pure+Blends+Foundation+3

The line contains everything from glosses and shadows, to main base make products such as the Almay Pure Blends Foundation I purchased. Don’t expect major coverage because you’re simply not going to be happy purchasing this if that’s what you’re expecting. The formula is runny, watery, and thin and manages to offer the coverage of a nice tinted moisturizer rather than a full on foundation. Although it doesn’t work at covering much of anything it still manages to exceed at evening out skin tone and offering a nice natural finish minus any bells and whistles.

Almay+Pure+Blends+Foundation+5

I read some reviews that said felt it was too oily and I honestly thought the formula was just right. Not to oily, not to drying but just very natural feeling as if I was applying a very light moisturizer to my skin. I don’t need a whole lot of foundation anyway so this is perfect for warmer days or days I’m not looking for a made up look.

Minor rants would be the price of nearly $12 USD or so (yes, you can probably save money by buying it on sale but I didn’t wait for a sale!) and the smallish packaging for that amount. It’s an oz of product and likely won’t last long with proper, daily use so I can’t help but feel I can do way better by purchasing a MAC foundation or some other brand for a few dollars more that will last me a year or so. However, I’m sure if purchased on sale it would be possibly worth shelling out for.

I’ll continue using it till I’m finished but it’s absolutely nothing to write home about. If you’re seeking a drugstore brand that’s green friendly with alot less toxic ingredients you’d find in most foundations this is probably something you want to check out otherwise if you’re thinking to purchase it simply because it sounds like a good foundation, I’d skip. Possibly the only thing appealing about it is it’s green friendly formula because I can’t speak for anything else being so grand about it.

Like it well enough but not feeling any undying love for it.

Yay or Nay: Steam Cream

yayornay

By now you’ve probably indulged in your own pot of Steam Cream or not….after reading the Muse’s wonky rave and review about it she’s making the big assumption that she’s convinced you that life can’t go on without a few pots of Steam Cream hanging around your washroom, your vanity, and at your desk.

Miss my review?

Blast you! I guess I forgive you, click here to read it!

Question is, if you did indulge, is Steam Cream a Yay or a Nay for you?

Jump ahead to see what I think!

Cute tins? Check! Fast absorbing? Check! Works on my face, body, hands, and everywhere else in between? Check, check, check!

Steam+Cream+1

What isn’t to love about this multitasking demon of a cream that softens my skin and makes it all pretty again? Multitasking as both a facial and a body cream this amazing moisturizer sinks in on contact and is possibly thee fastest absorbing cream I’ve ever used in my life.

With good for you ingredients and a soothing, healing blend, Steam Cream has been a fast favorite this past Winter and a life saver for my dry skin.

So of course, it’s most definately, a big yay!

yay

How about you?

Steam Cream must have winged it’s way to your side of the world by now.

Is Steam Cream a Yay or a Nay for you?

MAC Line Filler Base Review

MAC+Line+Filler+Base+1

Everything about MAC Line Filler Base is awesome….everything but it’s size.

Read ahead for my rave and maybe a minor rant or too. A review isn’t a review without a slight rant or two from a Muse.

Released with MAC Colour Ready, MAC Line Filler Base is probably thee most awesome base I’ve come across in a very, very long time. I’ve tried MAC Prep & Prime before and expected miracles of the product and got none but MAC Line Filler is exactly what I wanted and expected from Prep & Prime plus a little bit more!

MAC+Line+Filler+Base+2

Although it described as a pre-makeup primer for softening and relaxing lines and wrinkles the Muse likes to think of it as awesome in a tube. Now I have no lines nor wrinkles to speak of aside from a small minor ones under my eyes so technically speaking some rep or another would probably say I don’t even need MAC Line Filler Base but I beg and plead to differ. It’s an ideal prep for my under eyes, makes my concealer last forever and two days later, allows my foundation to remain fresh, and just works as a beautiful treat for my face. I love you MAC Line Filler, wanna go steady?

MAC+Line+Filler+Base+3

MAC+Line+Filler+Base+4

The formula is a thick cream which personally I think will be ideal for anyone pore ridden. I can’t speak for pores but damn does it fill in minor lines under my eyes like a snap plus it allows my concealer to blend beautifully and stay. I decided to use it all over my face this morning, hey might as well get my $19.50 USD worth, and it works great at prepping my skin and allowing my foundation to stay in place a few hours longer. Although you probably aren’t going to want to use it daily on your face unless you have serious pores since it comes in a tiny tube and costs $20 bucks!

MAC+Line+Filler+Base+5

Which brings me to my beef….can’t we get this stuff in the economy size? It comes in a 05oz tube (15ML for you Brits) which isn’t nearly enough for this Muse. I needs more please, k thanks.

Aside from it’s minor size it packs a mighty punch and does an amazing job at filling up anything you’re needing to fill, particularly lines of course but I def rec it for trying out on large pores, skin imperfections, and scary fine under eye lines.

Super stuff, comes with my highest Muse Approval for purchase. Try it, pinky swear you’ll love it and rant later about it’s tiny size!

Beauty Secrets: Shiseido Facial Cloth

Know what this is?

Picture+019

Some of you may know and some of you may not know this…but the Muse deems it her duty to tell you for the first time or to remind you if you already know that Shiseido has big old packs of awesome facial cloth for $9 USD. It’s not the best facial cloth around but it’s the best one you’ll find in the US and the price is rather nice as well.

Picture+020

Facial Cloth is great for removing eye makeup or makeup in general, applying toner, etc…it’s particularly nice because it’s a generous size, very soft, doesn’t leaves blobs of cotton all over your face, and is nice and thick. Yes, you can get pretty decent cotton in a drugstore with quite a cheap price but I actually think that the Shiseido is well worth picking it up since it has around 150 pieces of more in the bag and is such a generous size. Your local counter carries facial cotton but you probably never knew since they don’t actually “advertise it”. Normally a bag lasts me for 5-6 months with daily use. If I’m really cheaping it up I can go even longer by using one cloth for both eyes, they are so big you can easily do so!

So head to your local Shiseido counter and nab a bag for yourself! Great price and a ton of cotton to aid you in getting all your eye makeup swept away!

What are your fav facial cottons?
