The likely hood of me admitting that I actually don’t need a tiny brush to stipple concealer, foundation, and powder onto my face is highly unlikely so deal with it. You can count me tickled over the Trish McEvoy “The Point” brush if you want! Cheeky smile!
I just like the idea of a super small brush that can work my concealer on and blend it for me. Don’t get me wrong I already have two dozen concealer brushes but the size and shape of this particularly brush intrigues me. Am I alone here? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
The psychotic half of my brain is telling me that I must buy the Trish McEvoy “The Point” brush just so I can go around telling people that I own “The Point”! Sounds rather fabulous dontcha think?
Indeed, I think you’ll see a review of this shortly but if you can’t wait you can always head to Nordie’s to get your own! Say hi from the Muse to Trish while you’re there!
Tell the Muse!
Ahh Guerlain how near and dear you are to my heart and how very broke you make me with your new releases.
The new Guerlain Ombre Eclat Mono Eyeshadow are enough to make my heart pound in excitement while I weep tears of joy!
Guerlain’s brand new single shadows are thee best thing that has happened to my puffy, fine lined life. Since it’s Winter my eyes are terribly dry which means wearing bolder shades is a bit difficult as they drown my eye area out. In comes Guerlain to save the day with 10 shades of perfectly soft, silky beautiful wearing single eye shadows. The Muse hearts you Guerlain, truly she does.
I purchased only one shade so far which was L’instant Precieux but I plan on going back for more soon. The shadow is silky, smooth, and blends seamlessly all this while brightening up my eye area and wearing extremely well. L’instant Precieux is a soft shimmering gold with a good solid base of yellow. This color manages to perk up my tired eyes and create a soft, youthful glow to my face. Likey alot. Although the color definately lends something to brightening up my eye area I also blame it on the formula of the shadow. The shadow formula is silky soft without a ton of pigmentation but just the right amount to leave behind a perfect flawless look to eyes. In keeping with the amazing formula of the shadows in their popular palette line up Guerlain managed to make an even better textured shadow with these new single shades.
At $38 USD these don’t come cheap but the price gets you plenty of product in an elegant gold case with applicator. Truly a stunning piece to add to any makeup collector’s collection.
Overall, if you’re experiencing puffy, dry eyes this season I think an investment in one or two of these shades will be a blessing as they really lend a certain glow to eyes and helps give the appearance of a fresh, awake you!
Guerlain Ombre Eclat Mono Eyeshadow are Muse Approved for purchase. Truly beautiful shadows.
Oh teach me Smashbox! Teach me! I want to be a beauty guru too! I imagine that if I snag myself a Smashbox Beauty Guru Palette I’ll be well on my way to becoming a master beauty jedi.
Beauty Guru Jedi Council in Training
One can hope that’ll happen….
Gather around now kids and behold the multitiered palette for eyes, cheeks, AND lips.
Are you excited yet? I’m well on my way there.
The new Smashbox Beauty Guru Palette has everything you need for making up lips, eyes, cheeks, and everything else in between, kitchen sink sold separately, apologies from the artists at Smashbox but you can’t have everything. Settle down now kids.
Smashbox and Sephora Beauty Guru Andria Woods include a step by step guide for obtaining a catwalk-worthy look. Personally, I don’t care about the catwalk I just want a palette with three tiers…is that terribly weird of me?
The set includes a blusher/bronzer duo, shadow and liner quad, and lip color trio with a high shine topcoat. All yours for $47 USD…or all mine in this case.
Although the Muse has been known to hate on bronzers she’s feeling the love for a pinch of pink and a hint of brown to spice things up for the Spring. The colors in the palette all look quite friendly although I’m sure you know what I’m about to say….the palette is a bit Fall-like color wise but aside from that minor rant I like the looks of it.
How about you?
Tell your Muse all about it!
Exclusive to Sephora so grab it now!
Ok, all you dry skinned peeps! Listen up! I’m about to divulge to you the secret of soft, silky smooth skin in the Winter. Gasp! Unheard of Muse! I know right? Can’t be true!
But I promise it is!
Jump ahead to find out what it is that’s making my skin soft as a baby’s behind but be warned once you find out my secret I’ll have to kill you. Sorry those are the rules.
I happen to be a big fan of Dr. Denese….don’t know her? She’s some Doctor that appears on QVC every so often pimping out her incredible line of skincare. Actually I don’t love her for product alone. I love her because she’s so bloody cute. Check it. See what I mean?
Ok, so what I want to know is how OLD is Dr. Denese because I gotta tell you she’s looking freaking flawless. I’m thinking if I start stocking up on more Dr. Denese skincare items that I’ll be looking as awesome as she does when I’m her age. She looks like a little doll. Yeah, major fan girl moment here.
Anyway, I promise there is a moral to this story.
I’ve been using Dr. Denese Skincare products for two years I think. Two of my favs are Dr Denese Hydroshield Ultra Moisturizing Serum and Dr Denese Hydroshield Eye Serum. I promise to tell you about the joys of the eye serum at a later date but today I’ll be concentrating on the Hydroshield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum aka a blessing in a blue bottle.
What is it?
Expensive as hell that’s what it is. No but seriously, contrary to it’s sci-fi style name (oooo hydroshield how very Star Trek!) it’s a face serum that dramatically softens the appearance of small lines and wrinkles. Well..that doesn’t help me much as I don’t have fine lines or wrinkles on my face….HOWEVER…it gets better promise…the serum is also a super duper hydrating serum that locks in moisture and creates smooth, silky skin. The formula is packed full of ceramides, soy, vitamin E, retinol, linoleic acids, and more which help skin to lock in moisture.
Granted it is ideal for those that have serious fine lines and wrinkles but I just dig it for the moisture effects along plus I’m kinda hopeful that it does delay the aging process around here. The product is a thick clear liquid which is quite greasy feeling due to the lipid content however it does absorb fairly quickly. You’ll notice in my swatch photo that the formula mimics a lip gloss like texture almost, quite shiny and glossy feeling. It does promise to leave a matte finish behind but sadly I do have to wait a fair bit before this dries to apply makeup which is why I’ve taken to using it in the evening only. Normally my routine consists of washing my face, applying this, and following up a few minutes later with my regular night cream. In the morning my face is simply drop dead gorgeous and my skin is left glowing plus the flaky, patchy areas on my skin are completely gone. I do not use the serum in the Summer as it’s a bit to heavy for me around that time of the year however this is a god sent in the Winter months.
I highly recommend this for anyone who experiences dry, patchy areas on their face such as on the cheeks. The product is intensely moisturizing and delivers on the promise of locking moisture in and holding it. If you’ve tried everything else on the market and still haven’t found the right moisturizer that keeps those evil dry patches and flaky skin at bay I highly recommend checking out Dr Denese Hydroshield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum.
Big Muse Approval!
I get a tiny bit excited when Boots releases a limited edition collection. Granted Boots No7 isn’t the best cosmetic brand in the world but I tend to veer towards it when I hear the words “limited” and “edition” in the same sentence. I’ve been collecting Boots No7 LE items for as long as the sky is blue so of course when I noticed they had a new Spring Collection I kinda did my little happy dance!
Yes, Yes you can diss on it all you like but I’m still kinda sorta loving it!
Remember kids it’s the little things that makes the Muse happy!
The collection consists of the Boots No7 Petal Lip Tint, Boots No7 Eye Palette, and Boots No7 Petal Blusher. All of the palettes are available in two shade selections aside from the eye palette. The collection allows for a warm or cool look if you so please. I’m quite smitten with the No7 Petal Blusher although I’m not feeling the price range on most of the line which is topping in at £8 to nearly £11 hmmmm….can it be cheaper now please?
Aside from the price the line up is quite nice and keeping with the Spring theme of things. I’m considering picking it up just because I like collecting these particular palettes but we shall see as I’ve already used up a majority of my Spring Collection budget.
It’s ok, I give you leave to rant over the shat quality of Boots No7 now.
