Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette Review, Swatches, and FOTD

It’s that time of the year when the Muse is all about frosty shimmering shades. The snow is laying on the ground outside and the wind is blowing so hard it feels like it’ll knock you clear off your feet so hues of frosty white, peach, blue and purple are definitely in style today.

I think an icy, cool look a la the Ice Queen for the Holidays is so very chic and fitting with both the season and the weather!

Let me show you the perfect palette for creating a gorgeous shimmering Ice Queen look that’s sure to be a hit this season!

The Isadora Dazzling Diamond Collection totally caught my eye this season due to it’s gorgeous packaging and shimmering shades. Of course the Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette ended up on my hit list right away with it’s gorgeous mirrored compact design and five cool, frosty shades of shadow. The Muse can’t resist all that goodness!

The palette contains five shades of extremely soft, silky, pigmented shadows that include frosty blue, shimmering white, sparkling peach, and two shades of purple. All the shades would be wholeheartedly approved by the Ice Queen herself I’m sure. I loved the finish of the shadows and they are like nothing I’ve ever tried before formula-wise in the eyeshadow world. They are quite light and soft with nice pigmentation however they do crease a fair bit so proper prepping prior to application is required to avoid a mess later in the day. I noticed the shades work best on their own and not combined with other colors in the palette. They blend nicely however when applying two or more shades you end up with a fair bit of a muddy look. Personally I think they look best on their own anyway so in keeping with that theme you’ll end up with five separate looks from the one palette.

The palette’s design is just as gorgeous as what it holds. The compact is a complete mirror design with Isadora’s logo on the top lid. This does cause major fingerprint problems but I simply wipe off with a soft cloth after I’ve used it and it’s back to it’s gorgeous self again!

Using the blue shade from the palette

At a tiny price tag of $21 USD I think that the palette is well worth picking up! I loved the cool look the shadows created and think they are quite flattering for not only the upcoming Holiday but also the cooler weather!

All in all the Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette is definitely a nice little item to tuck into your stocking this season!

Spring Collecton 2009: Shu Uemura Mirage Collection

You won’t hear me ranting about dark colors and unusual shades when you see the new Shu Uemura Mirage Collection for Spring 2009.

%E8%A4%87%E8%A3%BD+ %E3%80%8CMirage%E7%B6%BA%E5%85%89%E9%81%90%E6%83%B3%E3%80%8D%E4%BA%BA%E7%89%A9%E4%B8%BB%E8%A6%96%E8%A6%BA

Spring is an unusual time for cosmetics and you never know quite what you’ll get when new collections launch. Ideally I love softer, pastel shades for the Spring however that’s doesn’t always happen and sometimes bolder comes into play. However, this year I couldn’t be more excited about the Shu Uemura Mirage Collection which contains an array of softer colors that are most flattering to embrace the warmer weather when it breaks through the bleakness of Winter.

The collection is launching in Japan as of January 23rd however it’s arrival is already gracing the pages of Evil-bay! I got these images mailed to me this morning from an E-bayer whom already has a majority of the collection, at ridiculously jacked up prices, available for sale.

The collection includes four liner pencils in an array of softer, delicate shades such as pastel pink and purple. Also releasing are two limited edition eyeshadow trios which I’m quite excited about considering I haven’t seen a release of trios such as this since I picked up some released with the Shu Uemura Prism Collection. Also included are three new Glow On duos which include two contrasting shades of blush and finally a limited edition lip duo!

Whether the US will see any of these releases remains to be seen but at the moment it will release shortly in Japan to what the Muse expects to be great excitement as the collection is quite stunning.

All in all I can’t help but feel very Easter-like about the entire collection. Don’t get me wrong it’s extremely appealing but the shades remind me of fluffy yellow baby chicks and pastel dyed eggs……

Smashbox Muse Collection

The Muse has fully embraced her “musey” personality for almost two years now on Musings of a Muse and it appears that Smashbox decided it was about time to tell the world how awesome the Muse truly is.

I’m almost but not quite positive that when Smashbox created it’s new Muse Collection they were thinking ALL about this Muse. Honestly who else could they have possibly been envisioning when going about the creative process of creating a Muse Collection right?

Read more about Smashbox Muse Collection after the jump….

The new Smashbox Muse Collection looks quite fun and funky but not completely what this Muse is all about however that does NOT stop me from wanting every single piece in the collection simply because it has my name…errr…I mean my alter ego’s name stamped all over it!

The collection consists of the following items:

Smashbox Muse Lip Paint $21 USD
 5761995

Smashbox Muse Artist Eye Palette $48 USD

 5761997

Smashbox Muse Cream Eyeliner Artist Pencil Set $36 USD
 5761998

Smashbox Hybrid 2-in-1 Luminizing Primer $34 USD
 5761996

It’s actually a pretty nice round up and I thought it was interesting that they included a pencil set as it’s abnormal to have sets such as this after the Holidays.

As you can see the Smashbox Muse Collection has a long way to go to be as uber fabulous and awesome as this Muse but it’ll pass. The Muse thinks she’ll take her chair and table and head to Sephora and the nearest Nordies and set up shop outside. As people purchase the collection the Muse will offer to autograph the boxes of the collection as who doesn’t want an autographed copy of a Muse Collection right?

Hmmm yes I believe I will do that….check for me at your local makeup counter soon!

If you’re want to be all Muse-like (but not as great as the Muse of course) you can head on over to Nordies and nab this collection now! It’s up and happily available for purchase.

What do you think?

Good enough for this Muse?

Need it?

Love it?

Tell your Muse!
