Makeup Packaging I Love!

Jill Stuart Valentine's Day Collection Heart Gloss Trio 3

I realize I’ve spent a good deal of my makeup life placing a ton of importance on packaging. It’s what makes beauty and makeup so very appealing to me. Don’t get me wrong you can slap a shimmer eyeshadow in a basic black pot and I’d be drawn to it like a magnet! But just the opposite holds true of say a boring matte! Place an uneventful muddy matte shade in gorgeous packaging and I instantly need to have it.

Perhaps I’m a bit of a magpie. Collecting useless makeup just because it has pretty packaging! Of course, that’s not always the case. Sometimes we really get lucky and not only get a lipstick with a gorgeous formula but also one that comes in stunning packaging.

As I grow older I find myself becoming more jaded and I’m not necessarily all “grabby hands” with makeup just because it has beautiful packaging. Let’s face it Milani Cosmetics has some of the worst packaging around but some of the very nicest makeup, hello have you tried their blush? Awful packaging, great formula!

Wet n Wild Lash Out Loud Mascara Review

Wet n Wild Mascara Lash Out Loud

Wet n Wild Lash Out Loud Mascara ($3.99 at Harmons) is a new Spring 2015 permanent mascara that promises 10 times the volume so lashes fuller! I have to admit I’m come to a point in my mascara life where I’m quite happy and pleased with Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes. It gives me great volume, terrific length, and recently, I started using it with the fibers from the new Physicians Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit and I have WOW lashes that I’m more than happy with.

Maybe I’m kinda like an old married couple with my Lights, Camera, Lashes but lord knows it works so why fix something that isn’t broken right?

But…

I do blog beauty so trying the latest mascara is a job I’m willing to take on (not a job that’s as exciting as a new eyeshadow palette but a job worth doing none the less!).

NYX Color Correcting Powder Review & Swatches

NYX Color Correcting Powder

NYX Color Correcting Powder ($10 0.21 oz) is a new permanent color correcting powder available in green, banana, and lavender shade selections.

You likely already know what a huge fan I am of The Skin Food Dark Circle Powder and unfortunately, I’m starting to run low on it and Skin Food discontinued the powder might to my horror. I’m always shopping alternatives to replace the powder and I’ve found a few I really like such as Ben Nye Banana Powder but I’m always on the look out for the next best thing.

When NYX Color Correcting Powder launched a few weeks ago I decided to order two of the three shades and see how they performed to set my concealer and maybe I’d get lucky and love the formula as much as I do Skin Food’s Dark Circle Powder!

Let’s take a look!
