If you told me a few days ago I’d be busy purchasing a shade of lipstick entitled Golden Grape I’d have called you a liar. I’m not a fan of vampy lip colors and Golden Grape I dunno…the golden sounds appealing but the grape part not so much!
But indeed it ended up coming home with me after I saw it on a L’Oreal Parisian Display at Walgreens (although I don’t believe the shade is actually part of this collection).

Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color ($24) is a newly launched twelve shade line up of creamy matte lip colors.
Bobbi’s matte formula is a creamy, classic matte that combines moisturizing properties so the texture is light as air and glides onto lips like butter. She also promises us a full eight hours of wear.
I guess if anyone is going to matte right it would be Bobbi eh? Spoken like a true Bobbi Brown fan girl.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick ($28) is a newly launched liquid lipstick from the brand for Fall 2012. Hourglass created these with a matte super pigmented finish and a 14 hour contentious wear without being drying or flaking.
They had me at the non drying, flaking part because I tend to do rather poorly with matte lipstick. I’ve run across a few matte formulas I enjoy using but if I’m honest I’m always reaching for the clear gloss to wear them with.
