7-Eleven Makeup or Simply Me Beauty as it’s called is a real thing so, along with that Big Gulp and super size bag of BQ Corn Nuts you can now get mascara, lipstick, hell, even false lashes. But really, does this surprise anyone? The makeup and beauty industry grows by 5 to 8% ever year for the last several years. Beauty influencers, youTubers, social media, and brands have created a cult-like obsession with all things makeup which means everyone wants a slice of the beauty pie including your local 7-Eleven.
Simply Me Beauty by 7-Eleven apparently will have beauty and makeup picks that includes BB Creams, Lipsticks, Mascaras, False Lashes, Concealers, and more for under $5 each. And yes, they can all be purchased at 7-Eleven.
Oh Thank Heaven for 7-Eleven Makeup.
It continues to become abundantly clear that the cost of drugstore cosmetics has risen considerably over the last ten years. The fact has never been clearer for me than after I walked out of an Ulta recently with a receipt held in my hand for a Maybelline Eyeshadow Palette that I paid $16.10 for.
There’s a certain embarrassment that comes from spend nearly twenty bucks on a very small eyeshadow palette from a drugstore brand. You’ll find yourself thinking about how you could have went to Sephora and probably gotten a better deal on some mid-range brand. And right now, with a plentiful round of gift sets available you can get quite a good deal of bang for your buck at Sephora.
Yet here I am the proud of owner of a Maybelline Eyeshadow Palette that cost me $16.10.
Found Full Coverage Concealer ($8.88) is one of several new Found Cosmetics products that launched at Walmart earlier this Fall. If you don’t know already, Found Cosmetics is Walmart’s new “natural beauty” makeup and skincare collection that contains over 100 different products for skin, face, eyes, lips, and cheeks that contain tried-and-true ingredients such as plant actives from around the world.
With a tempting price tag from $2 bucks to $15 this line seems quite affordable and pretty nice when presented in a well lit display at your local evil empire. During a recent trip to Walmart I took a quick look at the display and was deeply impressed with the offerings but I was in a rush so I settled on purchasing the Found Cosmetics Full Coverage Concealer. Because, hey, concealer is always a good place to start as far as I’m concerned.
But let’s just hope that rest of the Found Cosmetics Collection isn’t as bad as this concealer.
Foaming conditioner is apparently a thing now didn’t you know? Pantene Micellar Revitalize Foam Conditioner ($5.99) is one of several new foaming conditioners that are formulated for finer hair that have recently launched at the drugstore.
Pantene was one of the first brands to bring us BB Cream for our hair so when I noticed they were doing micellar hair care I wasn’t too surprise however, foaming conditioner? That was definately new, unique, and different from anything I’ve seen before from any hair care brand. I mean, this isn’t even a case of what’s old is new again as I can’t recall any brand ever releasing a foaming conditioner.
This, I had to try.
