What’s up with the Sephora Collection lately? Anyone have an inside scoop? I contacted some industry friends but no one knows anything. Sephora.com has a 4x bonus point on all Sephora Collection purchases with code SCBASKET and recently they also had the entire collection on sale for like 40% off.

Are they relaunching/repromoting for Fall 2021 do you think? It sure feels like they keep shoving these Sephora Collection offers down our throats lately.

The thing is the Sephora Collection for me is a lot like E.L.F…..very hit or miss. Sometimes you find the most amazing gems (especially the brush line. Lipstories Lipsticks, etc….) in it and other times it’s a complete waste of money. I’m sort of sad to say it’s also not something I actively seek out when I go to Sephora. I think when you head in store or even online you’re just wowed by any number of incredible brands and it’s not like you walk into that brightly lit store and say to yourself, “I NEED TO GO SEE THE SEPHORA COLLECTION FIRST!”

The Sephora Collection for me is a little like filler. It used to be something I used to tip me into a free shipping zone (that’s not really necessary anymore since they provide free shipping anyway) or if I wanted to round off my bag. I do like browsing their new releases but many of the newer items are very cheesy and cheap and feel more like they are marketed to someone that’s 12. Ok, yeah, I know, I act 12 but I don’t ALWAYS want makeup that looks like it was created for a tween.

I swear I’m not belittling the collection! Far from it because I do think there are some great products in it. I’m just curious what’s up with all the sales lately…!

I’d love to see them relaunch it but I think it might be too expensive to do so.

We’ll see when Fall 2021 arrives.

Buxom Spiced Up Full-On Plumping Lipgloss for Fall 2021 with for brand new shades inspired by autumn, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and basic b1tchery! Buxom released this fun collection last year if you remember but it came at in July. I’m noticing a lot of Fall and Halloween items are popping up A LOT faster than year. Typically we start to see Fall decor in August but this year a lot of different stores have it out already and I find it weird. Ok, granted, I love Fall. Sorry, correction, I LOVE FALL! But I find it a bit weird to see it in June. It sort of scares me. Are they trying to say something? Like get your Fall on now because COVID Part 3 is coming atcha in September. Cringe! 50% of New Yorker is vaccinated at this point which helps! That’s pretty much herd immunity but I’m still concerned about variants and a potential uptick in cases after all the Summer partying I see people doing.

Oh my god I’m ruining this post with my paranoia!

On with the makeup…!

This year, we aren’t getting any Apple Cider inspired shades. All four launching are full on “I listened to Pearl Jam when I was in High School grunge”!

According to Ulta the shades are scented and flavored like either warm vanilla or pumpkin spice.

Hate to say it the Artist Couture Supreme Bronze Eyeshadow & Pressed Pigment Palette brings absolutely nothing new to the eyeshadow world. The Artist Couture Supreme Bronze Eyeshadow & Pressed Pigment Palette is a new Summer 2021 palette release featuring 12 bronze-y eyeshadows for $42. It’s available exclusively on the sephora.com app today and should be available tomorrow on the website. Six of the shades are matte, three are metallic, and three are multidimensional, high-pearl finishes.

I really want to love this. I mean, like really…! But I can’t because I close my eyes and envision the several thousand other bronze palettes I own that have every single one of these shades in them already!

Ugh! I sound like a grumpy old lady this sucks.

It’s a gorgeous sunset palette which I’ve been known to migrate too but if I buy this it’ll be such a toxic romance because I’ll feel guilty knowing I can dupe all these shades with colors I already own! I’m also meh on pressed pigments so that saves me from doing damage I don’t need to do!

Wakey wakey friends! It’s Thursday and the weekend is just in your grasp. Today we toast good Shōjo series, delicious snackies, and false lashes!

Someone dmed me yesterday and said, “Hey, what’s your favorite manga?” So, I wrote this big deal about my fav on Instagram and I’m sure most of you know it was me waxing poetry about Itazura na Kiss. It made me want to watch It Started with a Kiss again! I do so love me some Joe Cheng! Swoon! God, his hair was so bad back than! CRINGE! Don’t get me wrong I love Joe but you know what? Yûki Furukawa isn’t half bad either! What’s your fav series?

A toast to good snackies today…! I’ve been obsessed with Dot’s Pretzels since discovering them at a hardware store upstate during the pandemic. I can’t remember why but we went to the local hardware store for something or another and they had a snack section and I saw these pretzels hanging from the rack and I was like ok, I need these! I was expecting some stale snack because hey, how often do they sell pretzels at a hardware store? But these things are delicious! I could eat an entire bag if I’m not careful! They’re larger pretzel twists that are dusted with this mild spicy season and that’s delicious! Ugh SO GOOD! Amazon.com sells them for anyone that wants to try but don’t say I didn’t warn you! They are SO addicting! My boyfriend swears we had these at a vending machine or something when we were in Colorodo but I DO not remember that! I’d have remembered this yumminess!

Last night I played with liquid eyeliner and false lashes just because…! DORKY THUMBS UP! It came out sh1t! But it was a blast playing around. I used those stupid Too Faced Six Kitten Lashes and nearly poked my eye out getting them on. I RARELY wear false lashes because I look like a try-hard. I always feel like a kid messing with her mom’s makeup when I wear them. I don’t know how influencers do it on the daily. God bless their little souls.

Oh and thank you Matisyahu! Listening to you during my work always inspires me to be my best. I let a few comments get to me yesterday! It’s rare that happens anymore as I’ve been doing this for so long I tend to just ignore them but sometimes I’ve been known to let it eat at me.
