Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Blush Stick and Soft Pop Powder Blush Are Guest Starring in My Summer Makeup Wardrobe

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Blush Stick and Soft Pop Powder Blush slides into my Summer makeup wardrobe without a thought or care for the fact I have plenty of blushes in my stash already! Makeup by Mario is still very much in their infancy stages with a release this past Fall and a smaller Holiday launch. They’ve really taken things nice and slow and I like that about the brand. Nothing has been pushed, nothing feels like a money grab, there hasn’t been an endless steam of launches. They’ve really a soft approach to their launch. Like many of you I’m tired of having palette after palette shoved into my face which is why I appreciate Makeup By Mario’s delicate approach.

Now that they are finally launching new items I’m equally happy to see it’s not some new eyeshadow palette but some blushes (and a contouring stick). I consider Summer the season for blush! There’s nothing like a pop of beautiful blush on your cheeks to make put you into Summer mode and here’s two to choose from Makeup by Mario!

Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Blush Stick ($28) takes center stage for me as I do so love a creamy blush for Summer wearing! Available in six shades this sheer but buildable cream blush the Soft Pop Blush Stick gives cheeks luminous, natural color with a lightweight dewy finish! Soft Coral and Raspberry need to come home with me ASAP. The blush is dual-sided and features a built in blush for blending!

  • Pale Petal (Soft pink)
  • Dusty Rose (Neutral rosy mauve)
  • Earthy Pink (Blushing rose)
  • Soft Coral (Peachy Pop)

If cream isn’t your thing no worries Makeup By Mario Soft Pop Powder Blush ($24) is a lightweight powder formula with a silky formula that contains a patented polymer that ensures color wears long and strong.

  • Desert Rose (Earthy rose pink)

I Relate to Belle Therefore I Need the I Heart Revolution Beauty and the Beast Collection

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Brown hair check! Brown eyes check (ok, ok, she’s more hazel than brown but let me have this moment)! Love of books check! Likes beast-y aggressive men double check! Talks to teacups triple check! Shares slight name association with Disney character check!

I’m Isabella but friends and family shorten my name to all sorts of stuff. Izzy, Bella, Bells, Bell…everyone has some sort of nickname for me. Thank god because if I had to go through life with people calling me Isabella I’d wilt into a little ball of misery. I strongly dislike my name but I don’t mind the nicknames!

Belle from Beauty and the Beast has always been a princess I’m associated with because of my name plus the fact she’s such a book nerd. This totally made me fall in love with her as a child! Not to mention, sit back Imma brag for a second, I look as awesome as she does in yellow.

I’ve been waiting so patiently for I Heart Revolution to finally launch the Beauty and the Beast Collection here in the UK. I was going to ask my best friend who lives in London to just grab it for me and ship it but I’m so glad I waited as it’s officially available on the brand’s website. I’m sure Ulta will get it next but I just ordered it all from their website because I’m an impatient little kid.

I have to say, it’s a total indulgence for me because I actually don’t like the collection that much! It’s mostly the packaging I’m in love with. It’s been a very, very, very long time since I purchased makeup just because I love the packaging and that’s in fact what I did here!

You see for me the first thing that comes to mind for Belle is brown and yellow! Buttery yellows, beautiful browns…That’s Belle for me! And there is plenty of that in the I Heart Revolution Disney Fairytale Books Belle Palette but they also toss in shades inspired by other characters but have the weirdest name placement for them! For example, they have a pretty blue that they call Belle and I get it! It goes with her dress but…I dunno that probably wouldn’t be the shade I’d name after her. On the upside they have some great shades like Gaston which is a gorgeous red! The palette contains a total of 18 eyeshadows as well as three matte blushes and three highlighters! It comes housed in a book-like case with original Disney artwork from the 1991 film.

The collection also includes a shimmer lip topper, a pair of faux mink lashes and a heart-shaped powder highlighter. I did purchase all four pieces because I’m a magpie for anything Disney! I’ll post a review soon!

If Belle isn’t your thing no worries there’s an Tiana and Cinderella Collection as well.

Are you a Beauty and the Beast fan?

Paula’s Choice Going Public Later This Year is a Thing Now

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

You may have read my Instagram post over the weekend that Paulas Choice may be going public later this year. In 2016, TA Associates acquired Paula’s Choice which created quite a bit of controversy over the years. As we all know Paula was really in favor of simplicity when it came to skincare routines. I mean, the woman believed you could use your regular facial moisturizer under your eyes! No need for extra eye cream!

But look at Paula’s Choice now a few years after TA Associates take over we have a number of different eye creams available for purchase. This is in fact what causes such an uproar in the skincare community. They felt that prices went up and Paula’s simple skincare routine with an occasional round of strong actives suddenly became overwhelming. And if we’re being real here, it’s true….Paula’s Choice releases new products quite often lately within weeks of each other.

Paula’s Choice was always a very state of the art skincare line without a lot of flash and hype. That’s changed dramatically over the years as the migrated more and more towards social platforms like Instagram. With that social migration you could see how things became more “insta-looking”. There latest 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel is iridescent purple…! Eep…! I feel like Paula would not approve.

The choice to go public has apparently has not been confirmed as of yet and TA Associates has not responded to requests for comments on the status. I do think the fact they are now sold at Sephora hinted at things to come. The brand has always been notoriously selective about where they are being sold. To me, taking on Sephora automatically meant they’ll start popping up at many other retailers at all. That was some clue that going public was next on the agenda.

The way skincare is having it’s moment in the sun lately it comes as no surprise that brands and firms like TA Associates are looking for ways to exploit that and make more money.

I’ll update you on Paula’s Choice public status as more news becomes available.

Is Marc Jacobs Beauty Going Out of Business Not If You Go By His Vaccine Selfie

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Is Marc Jacobs Beauty going out of business? Sadly, there’s no official report of that as of yet just a lot of assumptions since the line is 50% off at both sephora.com and marcjacobsbeauty.com. There’s been a lot of back and forth with information that customer service is giving to consumers as well and information that’s has been circulating around Reddit, beauty communities, and Instagram as quickly as a game of telephone.

We’re seeing a lot of different people post conflicting stories right now one from Sephora’s Customer Service Team and one from Marc Jacobs Beauty Customer Services. All the stories are inconsistent to say the least. You’ll have Sephora sticking with the story that Marc Jacobs Beauty is in fact going out of business and heck, even some of team from the brand have said the same. And other team members will say that the brand is preparing for a complete revamp.

Keep in mind a luxury lipstick only costs about $2.50 to make so even at 50% off they are still turning some profit. It’s not unrealistic that they could potentially be revamping the line. Kendo, Marc Jacobs Beauty parent company, has been a pretty busy bee revamping brands lately. They spent a bit of time with KVD Beauty’s new website and packaging, not a lot mind you, but they dropped some money into the packaging and launching some new products.

Fenty Beauty is probably one of Kendo’s biggest players but keep in mind they don’t have a huge portfolio of beauty brands under their belt which again makes it sound reasonable that Marc Jacobs Beauty may not be going anywhere at all.

Another hint…Marc Jacobs plans to return to the runway this year with a streetwear collection called Heaven. Creative director for Heaven is Ava Nirui an Australian fashion bootlegger. She attracted the eye of Marc Jacobs after designing a “Marc Jacobes” Hoodie.

Heaven seems so very fitting for Marc right now as he’s embraced his self acceptance and his gender-fluid outfits are just too fabulous for words that he posts on his Instagram. Did anyone see his vaccine selfie? Comme Des Garcon bubblegum pink short pants with sequins, a Balenciaga button up, a leopard print coat, and some a$$ kicking Rick Owens platform boots. I mean, dude, I wore a white t-shirt, black leggings, and a pair of Converse to get my vaccine. This man made CVS his runway b*tch when he walked in for his. There’s a good chance Heaven may influence the rebirth of Marc Jacobs Beauty.

There’s a big possibility Marc Jacobs Beauty is here to stay.

If you love the line don’t lose hope.

We’ll see how it pans out when we get closer to August and Fall Collections begin to trickle in.

Do you think Marc Jacobs Beauty is going out of business?

Or here to stay?
