Product Musings: Face Stockholm Eye Dust in Vanity

musings

Musings all about Face Stockholm Eye Dust in Vanity which the Muse is loving all over at the moment. It’s a peach sparkly concoction that’s rather ideal for Summer eye looks. I think it flatters nice flushed peach cheeks and will pair up quite nicely with my Dior Bronze Harmonie de Blush.

I’m kinda feeling peaches and bronze looks this Summer rather than my normal run of aquas and cooler blue shades.

What are you loving for your Summer eye looks?

Face+Stockholm+Summer+2009

If you’re a fan of the blues, not the music variety the makeup variety, Face Stockholm Cool at the Pool should appeal!

I’m a new convert to the joys of Face Stockholm so I’ve kinda been obsessive compulsively checking their website daily and adding ridiculous amounts of product to my cart and fighting with myself to not click enter!

Click ahead to hear about the Face Stockholm Summer Collection 2009!

As per the promo image this is what was used to create the splashing blue look you see above!

  • Make Up Base
  • A sheer application of Loose Powder #2 and Magic Wand will leave skin even without masking that natural summer glow.

  • Eyes
  • Apply Pearl Eye Shadow #44 on the lid up to the brow bone. Top off with a touch of Details Eye Dust for shimmer and shine. Brighten the inside of the eye with Clarity Eye Dust. Use Dark Blue Matte Eye Shadow and Forceful Eye Dust on the outer lid for a smokey effect. The Dark Blue Matte Eye Shadow also does double duty as a soft liner on the top lash line.

  • Lashes
  • Double up! Apply both Black and Blue Volumizing Waterproof Mascara for thick, rich lashes with a colorful twist that won’t budge, smudge or smear.

  • Cheeks
  • Cheeks pop with Organza Blush-On or Rio Crème Blush.

  • Lips
  • Full color power and shine is achieved with Instinct Lipstick and a top coat of clear glass.

Loving the combination of hot pink lips and shocking blue on the lids! Quite reminds me of a day at the pool!

Make Up For Ever Metallic Powder

    make+up+for+ever+Metallic+Powder

I just popped one of these in my cart! I can’t resist the magical allure of something so shiny!

Make Up For Ever Metallic Powder ($36 USD) comes in two shades, gold and silver, and adds a metallic effect to skin for a sparkling effect. Yums!

For the most part I’m not a fan of glittery bits and bobs on my body but I was reading a review on Sephora and it was mentioned that this could be mixed with eye shadow, used as liner, etc….the reviewer even mentioned that it was more of a liquid than a powder which I found very interesting.

I’ve since contacted Make Up For Ever to see if it is indeed safe for the eyes, I’ll let you know as soon as they reply! For now please refrain from purchasing and using on eyes as it is advertised as a body item so buyer beware.

I do hope MUFE will reply back and give me the green light for eye use as the shades would make an incredible foiled eye look! Likey!

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist Review

    Bath+%26+Body+Works+Aromatherapy+Optimism+Body+Mist

    Anyone smell this yet?

It’s been a while since any one scent has captured my attention at Bath and Body Works but Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist, oh my gosh loves it!

    Jump ahead for it!

I so, so hope that Bath and Body Works expands this line. They have always gone knee deep in for aromatherapy but never really touched base with it on a body fragrance level until now.

Love this so much. It’s such an uplifting scent. It’s a blend of jasmine, tuberose, and maté but for the most part it has a bright, cheerful almost citrus-like scent. It manages to linger incredibly long and has a nice throw too!

Considering it’s aromatherapy it does manage to give you a little lift in the morning after a few spritzes. Kinda reminds me of sunshine and sunny days!

We could all use a bit of optimism in our lives right now and Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist definitely holds the key to a quick smile on a busy morning! Spritz, inhale, breath deep, and grin.

    Ahhhh loves it!

    Anyone try?

Loving it as much as me?

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara Review

Make Up For Ever I love you so but would you be terribly hurt if I give your Smoky Lash Mascara a bad review?

    Eep!

A few months ago I got slap happy about Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara after seeing the incredible promo photo that went along with the release. Almost immediately I ran out to get some.

    Disappointment set in fast….

Now I got this mascara months ago and I’m just bringing myself to review it now. It’s just so bad I wasn’t sure what to write about it exactly. I’ve never really had a problem with raccoon eyes due to my mascara. I’ve had a few flaking problems but no crazy raccoon looking eyes until I tried out Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara.

    Oh.
    My.
    God.

What a mess. I was expecting really dark, smoky lashes when I tried this and what I got was a flaking, runny mess that left a dark ring under my eyes and made me look absolutely ridiculous. First application ended up with a bunch of flaky pieces of mascara falling around my eyes. Basically the mascara feels like it dried out and it was old when in fact it was a fresh tube that I just purchased. After cleaning up the flaky pieces I noticed my lashes were all clumped together and spidery looking…ugh…proceeded to comb them out and tried to be happy with the mess they were. Two hours into work and I check my makeup and I’m sporting a ton of mascara running around under my eyes making me look like someone hosed me down with some water.

This is possibly the worst mascara I’ve ever used. I cannot believe the mess my lashes were after use.

Final verdict, avoid at all costs. Definitely an epic fail!

    Hates it!

    With a passion.

Love ya MUFE but sorry I’m just not loving this mascara.

    WANT IT: Philosophy Eye Hope

    philosophy+eye+hope

The Muse is a bit of a Philosophy girl with her skincare so of course she wants to try out the new Philosophy Eye Hope ($48 USD)!

With the promise of a renewed hope for my skin and powerful clinical results, this sounds like the eye cream I’ve been hoping for. Six weeks of use shows significant improvement in fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness. Honestly, I’ve had great success with fine lines and dark circles but have yet to find a match that will cure my puffy eyes so here’s to hoping that Philosophy Eye Hope might do the job plus bring home with my fine lines and circles too.

    Sounds good to me!

Available now from Nordies and Sephora.

    Anyone try yet?

    Wanting to?
