I remember when Tarte had a really small collection and they’ve blown up since that time to say the least. The set includes the palette as well as a full-size Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara and a double-sided eyeshadow brush. The palette is now at ulta.com! The descriptions of the shades isn’t available but I do know you’ll get 28 shadows in the palette that are 0.038 oz each in a variety of finishes including mattes, shimmers, metallics, and satins. This is very Full Bloom Eyeshadow Palette looking but with richer, deeper shades. I waffled about purchasing this set and I’m still waffling about it because the palette actually looks really nice. GASP! I know right? I never say that about Tarte anymore. But it really does look nice but upon more careful consideration I’ve leaning towards saying no and that’s just because I feel I can replicate so many of these shades from Tarte Eyeshadow Palettes I already own.

The Bath and Body Works Halloween 2024 Collection dropped today and Members get early access to indulge in the latest spooky offerings (sign up for free to get access). And of course, there is a new Bath and Body Works Haunted House Luminary 3-Wick Candle Holder for Halloween 2024 and yes, the price went up from last year! And ya’ll said that Bath and Body Works lost their minds with the Halloween prices last year but let’s sit down and discuss the fact that the Luminary this year went up $25 making it almost $300 bucks to grab. Last year it was $250 which I thought was high but this year it’s $275.

Yeah, but no. I think I’ll be sitting this one out. Hear me out for a sec…! I actually like these Luminaries and I even have ones from years and years ago when they cost $59-$79 bucks. And sure, 20% coupons are floating around here and there which means the new Halloween 2024 Luminary will set you back $220 or so but even that’s expensive in my opinion. I can’t say I don’t have expensive hobbies. I’m a collector of a lot of comic books, collectable statues, older books, and a few other geek things I won’t bring into this conversation. So yeah, it’s a bit hypercritical for me to sit and judge Bath and Body Works for serving up a $275 Luminary because facts or facts there is an audience and fanbase for this stuff. Lord knows, I love Halloween! LOVE it. But I just can’t see myself dishing out $275 for this.

This year, the Luminary features is wrapped in a creepy tentacle. Has our beloved cthulhu woken from his deep sleep to celebrate the Bath and Body Works Halloween 2024 Collection? Perhaps! There also, appears to be a HUGE eyeball peeking out the backdoor and a little ghostie of some sort who greets you at the front steps with a large pumpkin on the side of the house. The luminary glows in the dark and holds one 3-wick candle inside. I have no doubt Bath and Body Works will sell this out at some point. Everyone creates a very big frenzy around these items across social media which gives fans really bad FOMO which results in amazing sales for retailers like BBW.
