L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Review
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara is a new formula of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara that’s available at drugstores for Summer 2014. L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara is quite cute and should be appealing to fans of manga, I know it was one reason I purchased it. Shrug…! I dunno why but I thought the packaging was cute with the wide eyed panda!
I haven’t had a ton of success with the Voluminous formula so I was skeptical about L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara’s formula s well.
Take a look!
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara has a tapered brush with flexible wand that promises to create a “Manga” look or more accurately put they created a formula to give you super longer lashes that give the appearance of brighter, wider eyes, think of it as the doll-like lash look.
The 360 degree flexor brush is great if you’re a wriggler when applying mascara as this allows you to wriggle the wand and the brush will flex and gently sway as you apply your mascara. Personally I think this wand combined with the formula which has a tendency to clump is a disaster for application! I’d have preferred a stiff none flexing wand.
I find the formula very wet but it does build a good deal of length and quite a bit of volume as well. The mascara, strangely enough, mimics it’s marketing as you’ll find it creates the same look that the panda on the packaging sports. It’s a very wide eye look. In particularly the mascara grabs and lengthens the bottom lashes dramatically!
It’s a not a formula everyone will love. If you have shorter, stubbier lashes I see it being very messy to apply. Those with already fairly longer lashes will find this adds great length and fair volume. I think the completed look though is a bit messy. It does clump if you aren’t careful and I find my lashes all stick together in a wet mess. Curl your lashes prior when possible to avoid a mess as I find it works better on curled lashes.
It’s very lightweight and doesn’t make my lashes stiff or crunchy and removes easily without smudging or flaking throughout the day on my drier eyes. I wouldn’t say it curls lashes so curl your lashes prior as it will keep your curl without drooping through the wear.
Just keep in mind the look it creates is more of a spidery, wet so it’s less of a doll look and more of the “manga” look they promote as it gives that wider, innocent look. I think the thing that impressed me most about it was the fact it added such great length to my lower lashes! If you have almond shaped eyes it’ll look quite dramatic.
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara Before and After
L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara isn’t a life changing formula but it’s fun. I wouldn’t call it bad but it isn’t something I’d likely use daily…! But when I’m feeling playful? Sure! I kinda like the look it creates.
Anyone try it?
