Too Cool for School Glam Rock Misty Rose Velvet Matte Lipstick isn’t my favorite formula of lipstick but god, I adore the shades they have available in this formula particular a color called Mildly. Anyone ever have that dilemma? Where you love the shade of something but not the formula? Or vice vera! Where you love the formula but HATE the shades available? This is seriously my makeup life more often times than not.

Too Cool for School Glam Rock Misty Rose a lightweight metallic rose barrel that’s 0.14 oz in size. The formula is available in five shade selections all of which are matte in finish. I’m a massive fan of the shade Mildly which is a dusky raspberry rose. I dunno how, I dunno why, but it’s a shade that really works well for me.

The formula, well, that doesn’t work so great for me. This is a really harsh matte that drags across my lips a fair bit during application. The application is a deal breaker for me but oddly enough the finish is pretty smooth and even on my drier lips without adhering to drier areas and wearing a solid six hours without migration or feather. Ironic isn’t it? The lipstick has no flavor nor any fragrance. During the wear it isn’t terribly dry feeling which surprised me!

If the application was a touch better I’d be raving this a hell of a lot more! None the less, I love the looks on my lips and I adore the shade!

Anyone try this formula?

Thoughts?

Where to buy

E-bay YesStyle

Too Cool for School Glam Rock Misty Rose is $23, 0.14 oz, available in five shades, and matte in finish. I’m a huge fan of the shade range in this collection! The shades just really work well for me particularly the shade I featured in my review called Mildly. Sadly, the formula isn’t a favorite of mine. Ironically once applied it looks super smooth and flawless but the application drags harshly across lips. It wears for a solid six hours without migration or feathering issues. It contains no flavor nor any fragrance.

Pros

  • Very smooth, even finish.
  • Wears long.
  • Excellent color range.
  • Pigmented!

Cons

  • Drags across lips unpleasantly during application!

Who

Too Cool for School Glam Rock Misty Rose might be fine pick for veteran matte lipstick users!

No, and thanks to you, won’t….And the formula would not improve, with lengthy YS delivery; it’d be melting season before it got there, lol. Somehow, I can talk myself down from most TCFS.

Haven’t tried this but I have this problem with Physicians Formula murumuru butter lip cream lipstick. I absolutely love the shade, and even the feel of the formula. But it has such an awful aftertaste possibly from the sunscreen that I stopped using it. I think the only lip product I’ve been able to tolerate that had sunscreen is Fresh lip treatments.

What a pretty colour. Does it drag and is as dry as 3CE lipsticks because I have a love hate relationship with those. So dry but so pretty…

sameeeeeeeeeeeeeee! 🙁 A little touch better maybe! But def sort of draggy. I’m trying to not let it bug me because I love the color so much!

OMG…..glad I’m not the only one! 3CE always has the BEST shades for neutral to darker skin, so I tend to love their shades so much. But it’s so drying and can tug my lips badly. But I can’t throw them away!

Ugh! It’s the worst lipstick dilemma. I’m currently looking for a dupe in color for a limited edition Avon lip crayon (a dusty rose with a hint of neutral brown undertone). It’s my perfect nude but better lip color. I’ve found that Nyx Butter lipstick in Root Beer Float is a great color match, but I don’t like the slippery and constantly moving formula at all. It is a very sad state of affairs to know that you have finally found a dupe and you can’t stand the formula.

SO TRUE! I love soo many of the 3CE matte lipsticks in the boxy style packaging with the rubberized feel. They have these fall shades, beige and rosy lippies I love. BUT THE FORMULA TUGS and feels like I’m dragging a crayon. It dries my lips to death ! I’m so sad because I can’t throw them away so I am melting them down to mix with some lip balm or similar shade with a better formula.

Gotta find a way to salvage it haha
