5 stars out of 5

Lunasol EX06 Chocolat Figue Melty Chocolat Lips is a new limited edition lipgloss that launched with the Lunasol Valentine’s Day 2019 Collection. I’m a rather big fan of the original Melty Chocolate Lip shades which made picking up this shade a no brainer for me.

The original three shades launched for Fall 2015 and as you guessed by the name they are inspired by chocolate and even taste and smell like it! The original formula had a very subtle fragrance and flavor but it seems like this new shade seemed a little stronger. I typically don’t like chocolate flavored or scented products but somehow, someway over the last two or so years I really love the scent of chocolate especially in fragrances!

The name is misleading as one would think it would be a chocolate shade but in reality it comes across as a cute rouge medium pink on lips! Although, Lunasol calls it a deep beige red.

The gloss comes in a short, chubby little barrel with an attached applicator for application. The gloss size is 0.13 oz and retails for 2,800 yen which is roughly $25 USD (now is a good time to indulge in Japanese makeup as yen is converting nicely to USD). $25 is a bit expensive for a lipgloss but I honestly love this formula and didn’t blink purchasing it. Although, online sellers have jacked the price up dramatically with prices as high as $68 which is obscene. One ebay.com seller has a gift set featuring the gloss and Duo de Chocolat Eyes EX05 from this collection for $85. That’s somewhat reasonable but still very high compared to retail! Sigh!

Pricing aside though let’s have a look at the formula.

This is a thicker gel lipgloss that has a slightly tacky texture which wears for four hours. I get fairly good pigment from the color as well. It’s actually a refreshing change from the original shades which were either chocolate or nude in color. I’m a little sad it’s limited edition as I feel like Lunasol should have these as part of their permanent collection. Oh well!

Lunasol EX06 Chocolat Figue Melty Chocolat Lips is a little expensive but delightful none the less! Worth picking up if you’re a Lunasol fan!

Where to buy

Ebay

Lunasol EX06 Chocolat Figue Melty Chocolat Lips is a new, limited edition shade that launched with Lunasol’s Valentine’s Day Collection in Japan. Melty Chocolat Lip Lipglosses originally launched as a limited edition formula back in 2016 and since that time a few LE shades have come and gone. It’s a lovely formula that I think they should make permanent. The formula is slightly tacky but wears comfortably with a nice pigmented pop of pink on my lips and a four hour wear. It does have a chocolate flavor and fragrance.

Pros

  • Anyone who enjoys pretty glossy lips.
  • Anyone wanting a fairly long wearing lipgloss that wears comfortably with a lightly hydrating feel!

Cons

  • Sadly, limited edition!
  • Expensive.

Who

You are the queen of m/u bargain show and tell. So, thought you should know. Googled Lunasol, and one of the multiple hits was COSME.DE. I knew the site existed, but really didn’t do the particulars. Freeship on 40USD. Presume no VAT. Also ship to Brazil and China. I think they have a loyalty points program similar to yesstyle. Not sure, but everything I looked at was discounted. Meteorites compact for 42,iirc? Big brand list. Hair, scent, skincare. Not having used the site, not sure about the shipping times, but they cannot be longer than yesstyle. (7 weeks and counting?). Zoeva (also Germany) takes 3-4 weeks on BF, and ~10-15 days otherwise. Cosme.de is worth the cruise. For your fee time, lol.

Oh I know 🙂 I’ve used them before in the past. Not sure if they have this shade, I didn’t check to be honest! Sorry! Remiss of me ;-D

I think they do not have that shade, but their Lunasol prices were better than some others, in general. How long is their shipping? Strikes me that it easily could be quicker than from Asia.

They are based in China so shipping is still airmail however, it’s fairly fast. I’ve had packages arrive within 9-10 days or so via regular airmail and within 3-5 days via EMS.

I thought the DE indicated Germany. My bad/confusion. .de is the suffix for Germany. As in Deutschland. If you are looking for the country’s google, for instance, it’s Google.de, or Google.fr, google.nl, etc. I suppose it’s a logical mistake, in a twisted way…. What is DE in China?

          • Isabella Muse

It’s a .com address not a .de address. The URL is cosme-de.com not cosme.de. They def ship from China 🙂
