Lavshuca Dress Glow Cheek Review & Swatches
Lavshuca Dress Glow Cheek is a new blush released from the Japanese brand that launched recently in five shades for Spring 2014. I’ve always felt Lavshuca’s blush range has been mediocre so it’s nice to see they keeping doing new blush products every other season. They just recently launched Lav Fake Cheek Color and Sweet Perfume Cheek as well as Melty Trick Cheeks Blush so I honestly didn’t expect another launch of blush this soon!
But hey, I’m not complaining!
Lavshuca Dress Glow Cheek are supposedly created with silk and pearl essence…but I’d take that with a grain of salt 🙂
They come housed in a cute container with a little lace ribboned puff for application. I had a hard time getting at the color witha regular blush brush since the well of the jar is rather small and I find the puff a little impractical for application. In the end I resorted to using a smaller domed blush brush to dip into the pot. It was a little irritating but nothing too dramatic.
Added to the cuteness of the palette is a lace heart imprint that’s on the blush itself! Awww dontcha just love Japanese makeup?
From the colors I’ve seen (I’m reviewing RD-1 in this post) they appear quite pigmented compared to past Lavshuca blushes. These are very vibrant although they suffer from Lavshuca’s customer chalky formula. I think they go that root because the powder works well on oily skin however, if you’re drier you might not find the texture pleasing. This isn’t powdery and although slightly chalky it adds a nice semi-matte flush on cheeks. I see a little hint of shimmer in the blush but it doesn’t really translate on my cheeks. At first I thought it would be a bit glow-y since it looks like that in the pot and also swatches with a bit of shimmer but once applied its quite a matte shade sans any glow, luminosity, or radiance.
Funny as Japanese makeup brands aren’t exactly known for creating super pigmented blush but I think Lavshuca Dress Glow Cheek does have quite good pigmentation especially for the brand itself who, in the past, have went with more subtle blush color shades! These wear for around seven hours on my drier skin and fade a bit around hour eight.
Overall, Lavshuca Dress Glow Cheek is a rather lovely little blusher with excellent color pay off and a very nice formula. The packaging is cute but a little impractical and annoying at times but you can work around it.
