5 stars out of 5

My review of About-Face The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation is long overdue but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been loving this little foundation for a while now. And hey, you can snag it for $11 bucks today only at ulta.com during the 21 Days of Beauty sale!

About-Face The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation launched in January for the Spring 2024 season. It’s a vegan and clean formula that promises second-skin natural coverage that promises a medium, buildable, and breathable finish.

It comes housed in a beautiful square glass bottle with a gunmetal mirrored cap. It has a large doe-foot applicator for easy swipe and blend application. The packaging is very much like Too Faced This Way Super Coverage Concealer and one of my favorite foundations, Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation. I’m not a full-coverage foundation kind of girl and I love this method swipe and blend method of application. It’s such an easy, no-nonsense way of applying and just getting on with the rest of your routine. It’s 1.08 oz in size and $22 making it a very nicely priced foundation.

This is a waste-based formula that contains glycerin. It’s formulated with blue agave, wintergreen, and chlorella, as well as to hydrate, balance, and smooth. It’s not an overly hydrating formula but it isn’t dry either which would lead me to recommend it for any skin type. I’m dry as you know and this wore perfectly on me. It’s a cream consistency that blends easily and has a smooth, second-skin finish. It wears close to your skin and doesn’t adhere to drier areas. It looks and feels very natural not to mention it’s weightless which makes it a great pick for the Summer months. It has absolutely no fragrance! Sometimes foundations like this can have that weird Sharpie Marker scent but this has absolutely no scent at all.

It wears amazingly well. I can get 8 solid hours out of it without any finishing powder. It just melts into your skin and stays there until you remove it. Not to mention it makes my dull complexion look bright and healthy. A perfect canvas for my makeup to say the least.

I got the shade L2 Peach which is a light shade with peach and and LM2 Peach. Oddly, LM2 was the better option for me but my skin tans easily and LM2 will likely be a better fit as Summer is here. That being said, I feel like LM2 was a bit too dark and the shade is a bit duller compared to the nice, brighter finish I got from L2.

About-Face The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation is the way to go if you want a natural, long-wearing foundation. This is a beautiful formula that gives skin a smooth, healthy finish!

How does this wear after 8 hours? Does it wear away evenly or start to look patchy/cakey?

    • Isabella Muse

beautifully. Still fresh as ever. No cakiness, no patches. One of my big issues is when my foundation starts to fade it begins to look dry around my lower and upper nose. I have no such issues with this. Also, it doesn’t oxidize either. The color remains very fresh. It sort of melds with your skin for lack of a better way to explain it.

oh one thing! I got mine back in January so I haven’t really been through extreme heat with it yet! But I think it might do well!

Thanks! I have dry skin too, so I find that even with prep, it also starts to look sort of dry/patchy in places (especially around my eyes) so that’s good to know. I think they’re out of my shade, but I’ll have to keep an eye out for this!
