Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Radiance Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid is a new hydrating foundation that’s available in 50 shade selections which is infused with Hyaluronic Acid that acts to smooth and plump skin while moisturizing skin and allowing it to retain moisture without adhering to drier areas.

Hi there! I have dry skin so, obviously Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation was created with folks like me in mind! Although, they do make another version which you might have tried already called Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation which is a matte finish version of this formula. I have that version and I like it a lot! It’s actually has a softer demi-matte finish that I thought applied and looked very smooth. I actually really like it and I’ve been using it since it launched a few months ago along with the Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer which also has a new hydrating version available that I reviewed yesterday called Conceal & Hydrate Concealer!

But hey, I’m all about a newer hydrating version! I can get on board with that!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation launches this week on the brand’s website in 50 shades however, it is already available on Ulta.com but they only carry 16 shades. Seems like Ulta just picks and chooses a selection of the most popular shades to carry from this launch. Thankfully enough they have my shade which is F8.

This comes in a 0.7 oz pump glass bottle and it’s priced at $12. I liked the original version’s packaging better to be honest! It’s a smidge bigger at 0.08 oz and it’s also $12 however, it’s packaged like Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer with the large sponge applicator. I just liked the ease of swiping on the foundation using the sponge applicator. That applicator also works great if you’re using a few shades to contour with.

This comes in a pump which you may or may not appreciate more. When I got it I was confused because the cap was sort of loose out of my Ulta shipment and I went to open it and the pump stock to the cap and there was just one long tube which confused the hell out of me. I was like, “wait, where’s the sponge? what’s this tube?” I realized duh that the cap had stock to the pump and I had to pull a little harder to release it and screw it back on tight. The pump works flawlessly and provides just the right amount of product. Press it gently as a little of this foundation goes a long way as it’s very pigmented and should provide full coverage easily without applying a ton of product.

It does have a strong magic marker fragrance which reminded me of Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer. I did notice that the amount I used, about a pea-sized amount, didn’t have a strong fragrance however, a larger application did smell. The scent disappears but it might be off putting for sensitive users. The foundation is Made in Taiwan.

This formula is very, very creamy but not too thick. It spreads and applies like liquid butter! It just absorbs into my skin so easily and doesn’t sit on top of it or cling to drier or less than smooth areas. It blends beautifully well without a ton of effort and the coverage is flawless and very smooth. You do have to be considerate with the amount you use as this is a foundation that does give you a very flawless appearance however, it is also one that looks like you’re wearing makeup. I don’t say this as a bad thing just that you need to be mindful of how much of this you apply. A little goes a long way! Start with a small amount and add more as you need it! I can get it look very natural when using a small amount and blending it well. It’s very weightless, breathable, it feels hydrating but not greasy or dewy just second skin-like and light. The coverage is plenty to blur smaller and larger imperfections while brightening up my duller skin and giving it a fresh and awake look. I had no issues with it adhering to my drier areas. I select F8 which will be better suited for Fall and Winter as at the moment it oxdizes a little lighter once applied! The shade was created with medium skin tones and a neutral undertone in mind but still I find it has a paler undertone that doesn’t quite suite the warmth of my Summer skin at the moment. When I return back to my light medium/neutral undertone in the cooler weather it should be perfect. The wear is very good for me. It’s pretty hot and humid in New York and this settled well into my skin without transferring or fading. I don’t set with powder and it still wore quite well for me all day until I took it off at the end of the day. It also seemed to keep my skin pleasantly hydrated but without creating any shine, greasiness, or dewiness! My face just felt very smooth and not drying even in the air conditioning.

All in all, Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation was a win for this dry skinned girl! I actually think anyone can easily use this formula because although hydrating it isn’t dewy or too moisturizing! It just keeps skin very smooth and soft!

I’d highly recommend checking out Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Foundation! It’s a keeper and a great price.

Where to buy

Revolution Beauty Target

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Radiance Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid is a new, permanent hydrating foundation that provides full-coverage. This is fantastic formula that I thought was very pigmented, long-wearing, easy to apply, and blend. A little goes a very long way at providing excellent coverage that doesn’t adhere to drier areas and looks smooth and flawless while brightening up the complexion. The formula does seem to oxidize and applies a bit lighter than it swatches so, deciding on a shade up might be a smart move. There is an unusual magic marker like fragrance that disappears quickly enough but it seems like if I apply more the scent is stronger but again, it does disappear. On a whole, this was a very nice formula that worked quite well for me!

Pros

  • Very pigmented.
  • Super creamy, easy to apply and blend.
  • Wears long.
  • Very affordable.

Cons

  • Can look like you are wearing makeup! More is less during application.
  • Odd fragrance.
  • Shades limited on Ulta’s website (there are 50 total but Ulta only carries 16! The entire line is available on Revolution’s website for purchase).

Who

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate Radiance Foundation is a great pick if you have drier skin but I can see this being an easy pick up for any skin type as the coverage it provides is amazing not to mention it applies so well without being greasy or dewy!

Did you see all orders are 20% off at Armani Beauty with code ARMANI20?

Ugh I want to try this but I’m worried about the shades. F8 might be too dark for me and the next lighter shade might be too light if they oxidize lighter. I was thinking of buying Infallible Pro Glow but now I feel Makeup Revolution’s would be better for my skin. Any issues with how it reacts to oily areas?

    • Isabella Muse

I’m a bit oily on my cheeks, forehead, and nose lately because summer :-/ and no problems on with any oiliness or shine. Doesn’t break down around these areas either, looks smooth and adheres well!
