Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C ($14-$18) is a new light-to-medium skin-like skin tint available in 18 shades with a radiant finish and a formula infused with Vitamin C. A few months ago Maybelline introduced Fit Me Fresh Tint With Vitamin C Skin to the Asian market and I gotta admit I actually like it a smidge more and wish they’d have brought it over here. It feels a bit creamy, it’s a little less radiant, has a bit more pigment, and isn’t as runny. That being said, Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C is still a solid tinted moisturizer type product that is perfect if you want lighter coverage on a warm Summer day.

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C comes in a glass bottle with a dropper and is 1 oz in size.  Before using this beware of two things. Number 1 and most important don’t feed it after midnight. Sorry, scratch that. That was a rule for something else. Ahem…Number 1. Don’t drop the damn thing. I made the mistake of dropping it on the bathroom floor because I’m not exactly Miss Coordination in the morning and it shattered. It was not pleasant to clean up but most importantly this bottle will break if you drop it. Number 2. Shake it up! The pigment does separate from the base so make sure you shake it well before each use.

This formula can be used in a few ways. You can use it alone, mix it with moisturizer, or wear it with outer foundations. Personally, I found it moisturizing enough without using it in conjunction with my own moisturizer! I believe it wears best alone but if you want more coverage you can def go in with your own foundation or mix this with your own foundation. Although, it claims light to medium coverage I’d say it’s fairly sheer and offers some coverage but the coverage everyone who uses more pigmented foundation might be looking for. This will ease dullness, brighten up the complexion, and conceal minor redness but if you have flaws you wish to completely conceal this probably won’t offer that coverage you need. I’d say it was a step up from tinted moisturizer in terms of coverage. It’s quite sheer, natural, and has a hint of radiance but nothing too glowy.

The consistency is creamy yet very runny. It blends quite easily and feels nicely hydrating which makes for a bit of a shorter wear if you don’t set it with powder. I don’t normally wear powder so I got about 5 hours of wear from it before it showed signs of fading. It contains no fragrance.

I thought it applied very easily. The best application method is your fingers and hands. Just apply a small drop to the sides of your face use the heels of your hands to press it into your skin or tap it in with your fingers. You can use a sponge or a brush but the runny formula seems to absorb easily into a sponge (Not so much a brush!).

This is a formula that’s right up my alley. I don’t have major imperfections outside of dullness. I wear foundation because I want brighter skin. Foundation acts to ease my dullness for me and gives me that brighter look. This is exactly the formula I love! Natural, weightless, and very skin-like! My skin but better! It is a bit radiant which I don’t really like in my foundations but the finish is very subtle so nothing too glowy. It had a lightly moisturizing finish that was smooth and didn’t adhere to drier areas on my face!

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C Shades 120 and 129

I do have one major problem. The color range! They have 18 shades but I just couldn’t get a match. I purchased shade 120 which was too light and shade 129 which was too beige and almost muddy. I’m a little sad. If I mix the two it’s a bit better but still not quite my shade. I’m a little sad about that because I really like this formula. Sniff!

Ok, so, we should address the Vitamin C here and the Alcohol. Yeah, it does contain alcohol. I’m dry so, I do try my best to avoid alcohol in my makeup and skincare products. But there are exceptions and sometimes alcohol doesn’t always make me drier. Alcohol does break down collagen in the skin so, it isn’t exactly what you want in your beauty products. But believe me, I def have products I use and love with it so, guilty as charged in that area. But it deserves a mention if you do avoid it. The Vitamin C here, well, I’m not really sure how much is in this formula. I wouldn’t depend on it as a solid form of Vitamin C. I prefer getting my dose of Vitamin C from an actual serum.

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C is worth a try if you’re in the market for a lightweight natural-looking foundation!

Where to buy

Ulta Walmart Amazon

Maybelline Super Stay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C arrives in a 1 oz glass bottle with a dropper applicator and runs from $14 to $18 depending where you purchase. This is a natural, skin-like tint that provides sheer to lighter coverage that will ease dullness, brighten up your complexion, and conceal minor redness or other imperfections. Although marketed as light to medium coverage I don’t think it’s quite pigmented enough to conceal major issues. I liked it a lot. I felt the coverage was natural and skin-like as promised. It wears a shorter time at around five hours and had a lightly moisturizing feel with a smooth finish that didn’t adhere to drier areas. The formula was runny yet creamy and was best applied using fingers.
